This bookstore has a great selection of art related books. They run several museum book shops and those kind of books are what you can expect. I like the atmosphere in there and that you can explore in a beautiful chaos.

Impressive size and massive selection while remaining cozy. Lots of stairs, so not the most accessible, but it's loaded with approachable staff.

Although I searched for books in philosophy, politics or for some auto/biographies and tried hard to find a book in my favorite genres, I was impressed with the varieties of Arts and Architecture books. It will take some time&effort to figure out the books (particularly if you are looking for books in English) to meet your taste. However, Walther König bookstore used to be a meeting place for artists. You can feel it when you are there even for a short period of time there at the corner of Ehrenstraße in the city center. Definitely worth visiting.
