This is not therme!!! The pool water is way too cold to be called thermal water! There is no large pool to swim, only one small pool of 1.35 m with a shape not suited for swiming and a couple of bathtub size "pools"! The personal is very rude and unprofessional. Too expensive for what they offer. The general experience was negative. I will not return! I don't recommend Claudius Therme.

For me it was a very bad choice. In the DECEMBER 2022 the water WAS FREEZING COLD. I was shaking all the time. What kind of a THERME IS THIS? (There was one small tub inside with luke warm water. That was supposed to be the HOT ONE). The pool is too shallow and if you stand you are outside the water. There are no swimming lanes. It's just some bathtubs to sit and good for some medical workout. You can't JUMP. You can't properly swim. Totally useless. I went back in JULY 2023 and ON TOP OF THE 31€ entry fee, they wanted 8€ extra + 6€ for a bathrobe to get to the "NO SWIMWEAR" area outside in the sun 🌞. They said it's the SAUNA AREA. NO! NO SAUNA! 🚫 I don't need your sauna or your robe! I want to stay outside IN THE SUN. This time I left right away. Will never come back! DO NOT RECOMMEND! ⚠️ It's a rip-off! Go to one of the nice Köln City Pools!

First timer please check out my review especially non-German speaker ! Transportation - By public transport can be reached by Bus, and just a few stops from the city - The lastest bus is around 23:00, so be careful - But walking distance to the tram station Check in - You do not need to pay in advance, you pay when you check out - They give you a free map - They do not give any instruction, and no so good in English Locker Room - Weird shape like so narrow but fit everything for me - Can be difficult to find entrance-exit, since it is so massive - Key is easy to use and can attach with your wrist like a watch Pool area - I think the picture look much better, but still good - I sort of expect the temperature is warmer - Many activities available and zone - Whirl pool is cool! - Night time, can be more annoying not so nice people who is loud and use facilities as their own space Restaurant and Cafe - Sauna area serve only snacks and light food - The pool area have full meal course - Food is pretty good and price is acceptable Sauna - Worth to pay and much more calm - The booking system is great - The demonstration is professional and some provide juice shot and scrub - Bathing and pool can be naked here - Access to a better view - Panorama sauna at night is stunning Staff - The blue shirts can speak English very well and friendly - I think they tried to monitor all the jerks already but difficult job - I understand most function with the blue shirt team Before visiting, checking their website what to bring and what to expect! It is good to see their promotion as well :)

Came to Germany to visit family and they took us here. We were enjoying ourselves and having good conversations when the power hungry worker came by to tell us that there was a complaint and told us we have to leave because there was a complaint. No warning, nothing. We paid for 4 hours and where there for an hour. Didn’t consider anything by we said, just told us to leave. Shocking service very power hungry workers

Great place to chill and relax during winter. Visited on Dec 15 at 4pm. Very big, beautiful and clean spa. Amazing view at the panorama sauna room before sunset. Their staff are always there to clean and tidy the place. Bought the 4 hour thermal spa for 21 euro, bathrobe rental 7.50 euro, towel rental 4.50 euro and sauna entry 8 euro. Cons: no drinking water provided, no toiletries, signals all in German language and no English Pro tips: 1. To save some costs: you can bring your own bathrobe and towel (ideally 2 as 1 for sauna and 1 for shower). 2. Bring slipper 3. Toiletries 4. Drinking water 5. Ask for a English spa map Public transport: Bus 150 is the only bus stops directly outside the spa entrance. How to use the locker: 1. Find the locker number on your wrist band 2. Open the locker by using your wrist band chip to press against the locker knob (you will see the yellow light blinking) 3. Lock the locker by using the wrist band chip to press against the knob and turn left to lock it

This is a delightful and relaxing place to visit. There is a large indoor/outdoor pool that is warm. There are various hot springs, as well as a cold well. There is a hot tub outside. You do have to climb out of the pool to get in and out of it, so it can be a little chilly in the winter. If you're in the area and looking for something relaxing to do, this cannot be beat. I would love to come back and visit again

Nice sauna. Banja and Finnish sauna were very nice. Personnel is very good and friendly. Price for four hours is about €34, which is reasonable, I think.

We had a terrible experience 😡🤬 Although the Therme was spacious, fairly clean and from the overall impression very professional, this is definitely not the case when you look a little closer. It already started in the changing room and locker area, which was not spacious at all and dirty. It reminded me of a simple swimming bath changing area, really not welcoming you to a relaxing experience. As experienced and frequent sauna users, we visited on a Friday with pre-booked tickets, expecting a great, professional and relaxing day. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case due to several reasons: 1. Pre-booking for the sauna ceremonies: This might have arisen from Covid restrictions, but however you are asked to pre-book on on of three touch screen terminals in advance to EVERY single ceremony/Aufguss you want to attend (which for us meant almost every 30mins). This wastes valuable “relaxing time”, as you sometimes have to queue at the terminals or plan in extra time to go there and book because you’re only able to book a ticket for one Aufguss at a time. This is not made clear on the website and we were close to leaving straightaway after learning about this. On top of this you need to take your printed ticket INTO the sauna where it gets collected by the staff member prior to the Aufguss - not only a total waste of paper, but a full-on dealbreaker! Felt like being on a train or a fun fare! 2. The staff: We had a good start with professional, friendly and competent staff members who were happy to help. Unfortunately this deteriorated throughout the day when one specific staff member thought it fun to be disrespectful and unprofessional whilst performing an Aufguss ceremony. This is just unacceptable! 3. Construction works vs. full entry price: There was neither a pre-warning about one of the main Aufguss saunas being renovated and unavailable for use as well as a large are of resting rooms nor a price reduction or alternative ceremony offers to compensate this. 4. Expensive: I am used to paying extra for being able to access the sauna facilities, but there are many hidden additional charges for certain ceremonies. Though I understand that for a massage or specific beauty treatment you would pay extra, here they for example charge 6€ extra for a typical thermal water bath called “Schwebebecken”, which in my opinion should be included in the not so cheap thermal bath entry fee. 5. Water temperature too low: Specifically in the sauna areas the inside and outside pool water temperature was way too cold, especially when I imagine going there at winter season (I already experienced the same at the vabali spas which belong to the same company). In addition there was only one cold dipping pool in the whole of the sauna areas - which means if you want to dip after a hot sauna you have to specifically go there. The only warm-temperatured pool is located in the thermal bath area which is textile only - which means that you have to get dressed to be able to use it. 6. Clientele: This was definitely the biggest problem of the day. People not respecting the basic rules in a sauna, but being allowed to misbehave and being disrespectful. Although the staff are very clear about the rules, there is no consequence for the visitors when they don’t obey the “Saunaknigge” at a sauna. We’ll definitely not go back again.

Me and my friend bought a package "Classic day" which was including breakfast, 25min massage and access to a "floating pool" (a pool with 15% concentration of salt). The cost of this package is 98€ per person. Right after we arrived, we were very disappointed by the "breakfast buffe". There was only one plate with 3 slices of cheese left. The waiter was not there and after he showed up he seemed to be super uninterested in his job! After we complained that there is nothing to eat, he said "okay" and left to the kitchen. When he came back, he just said "It might take a while". Absolutely horrible attitude!!! We ordered orange juice, coffee and a glass of water. Later we found out that the coffee and water was not part of the "breakfast buffe" and they charged us extra for these! The massage was short, not a real massage compared to what you get at a Thai massage place. The only nice part was the salty floating pool, but this whole package was certainly not worth the price we paid! Additionally, because of the electricity savings, the temperature in the pools was decreased by several degrees making it not a thermal spa anymore. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

Amazing place to relax, I fully recommend it. You pay extra to visit the nudist area where there are more excellent saunas and baths, one of which has a great view looking out towards Cologne Cathedral.

Great facilities, with lots of areas to visit and chill. The staff are amazing, and explain everything to you, from how the lockers work, your wristband and access to the facility. I would recommend a visit to anyone in the area and will be back the first opportunity I get.

Receptionists and thier supervisor were rude denied me from buying a ticket to enter which i could only assume was for a racist reason!. I was calmly and respectfully arguing the situation with them and yet they throw me out in avery disrespectful and humiliating manner in front of all other visitors, i would never recommend any person who have some respect to other humans to visit this place.

A pleasant pool, sauna and spa complex. The nicest saunas are in a separate area with a small extra cost and include one with great views over the city. All but one saunas use German etiquette of being unclothed.

Nice place. But there's too many men that think being fat and bearded makes them male, behaving as if they were alone on the planet, staring at the girls, not showering before pool and after sauna.

Perfect place for relax both body and mind. There are a lot of different saunas and baths in the centre, everything is included in basic price. The swimming pool is good as well as a lounge zone. I definitely recommend the variety of saunas and massage on the second floor. You should bring a towel, a bath robe and slippers with you or you can rent them in spa for an additional cost. The personal is kind and helpful. I've visited this place twice during my stay in Cologne for New Year 2023. The 4 hours visit cost me 29 €. Thank you so much for me having a wonderful time!

We visited the Claudius Therme for a Saturday a week before the big carnival events. It was relatively quiet and spacious in the morning but got very busy in the later afternoon. The registration system for the Aufguss is a bit annoying at first, but once it got more crowded we understood why it is needed. Overall the facilities are as clean as possible and Sauna rules are followed by guests and carefully monitored by the staff. First time visitors should be aware that this Spa is split into two areas and the Sauna area is without swimwear which needs to be put back on for the swim hall. I can definitely recommend the “Kaminkammer” in the back of the restaurant at the inside-Sauna. The food and drinks in the restaurants are pricey but the quality of the different meals was excellent. Staff in the Sauna is relaxed and friendly but seemed a little stressed at the reception and restaurant.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, it's not worth swimming in Corona times. Since the whirlpools and the hot and cold water pool were continuously occupied by stubborn pensioners who simply ignored the indications of a 10-minute stay, we paddled around in the large pool for 2 hours, bored, which was also relatively cold. On top of that there is the all-day blocking of the floating pool for rehabilitation measures. And for that 15 euros / person / 2 hours?

Loved it. We had a wonderful time here. You can book treatments and infusions on terminals to avoid crowds in the saunas. You can just go there but check the website for how busy it is. No need to book online.

Absolutely great place to relax and take that well earned time out for your mind and body. Relax away fro. The hustle and bustle of day to day life by dipping into this naturally heated hot tub that even goes outside. With fountains and Jacuzzis to choose from your spoilt for choice. There is also the full sauna and steam room experience if you don't mind getting your kit off, although there is both sauna and steam room in bathing area which you wear your swim wear. The best bit for me was the dead sea salt water tank where you feel totally weightless. Great place for body and mind

The water was wonderful! Next day and I feel amazing. ~ Must try the small dark soak with the pure mineral water. ~ Didn’t get the try the Sauna area but will next time. Looks beautiful. ~ Took our 10 year old and she also had a really lovely time. ~ The cafe food was fresh, Italian style and very tasty. ~ Staff was open to speaking English with me. ➕➕➕ ~ Clean ~ Only downside according to me: City noise and traffic sounds outside, not ideal but nothing can be done as it’s in the middle of the city. ~ Outside and inside the spa you can find a fountain where you are allowed to fill up small paper cups to try drinking the mineral water. This is so generous and kind of this place to offer this. Give it a try if you are even only passing by 😊💦💦 ~ Thank you to the staff as they were alert when someone really needed help. It was very reassuring. Great job 🌟

Finding something to do when the weather is cold and rainy and then throw on top of that its Christmas Day, this was the perfect way to relax and just enjoy the day with my wife. We didn’t know much about the rules or the things we would need for the experience so we were very happy when they have a shop to buy flip flops and swim suits. You will need a swim suit, shoes to wear when walking around outside of the pools and saunas, robe if you plan to go to any of the food areas, towel for you as well as a small one for your feet in the saunas and we would suggest another one to take a shower with at the end and dry off with so you aren’t using your towel full of sweat. We went in and just started to explore everything. The large indoor outdoor pool was a great start. The outdoor hot tub wasn’t the hottest but who can complain about a hot tub outside in the cold. We then started to explore into the saunas. We stayed with the three that were outside in cabins and it was an amazing and relaxing experience. We highly suggest signing up for the Kelosauna bit Kaminzimmer it was a great experience. We stayed about 4 hours and didn’t even scratch the surface on the places to go and experiences. This is definitely a repeat place to go and unwind and relax while in Köln. Our negative comments are that there isn’t much signage as well as not much in English. My wife was able to translate anytime we needed it so just be prepared to translate or ask. We also couldn’t find anywhere to drink water or drinking fountain. You cant have your phone anywhere past the locker area. So be prepared to leave that there and take the map and a bag with water bottles and things in with you. All in all a great experience and one that we will go back to.

Loved my time at this spa, cozy with great view by the Rhine River. Loved the whirling pool. Could benefit from regularly cleaning the locker closet section to remove extra water and locker clean-up

Nice place, that is located on a really mineral source. Different pools and a separated sauna section with rituals every half of hour. However I wasn't able to enjoy all available services because of the lack of German language. Every screen for reservation was in German, felt totally lost on what was going on. The only warnings were in English. :) If you have a German speaking friend, I recommend you visit this place.

(Translated by Google) The sauna landscape is quite beautiful (by sauna pond I would have understood a real swimming pond (is a bit misleading). The way from sauna inside to sauna outside with the two turnstiles is also annoying. The thermal bath could do with a bit of maintenance in some places (rust spots and cracked windows and there are water stains on the thinker). A star deduction because of the C19 rules, if it had been on the website I would have done something else (mask in the corridor, ok you can do it (maybe because of the federalism here), but it's really annoying (well, nobody complained that I I didn't understand the logic in any case and the Emser Therme near Koblenz does that much better. A plus point is the Aufguss booking that you should have everywhere, regardless of exceptional circumstances. A compliment goes to the restaurant, that was really good and worth the money.

We visited Claudius Therme in the afternoon and there are some things to say. Firstly, the staff could work on being more friendly. We had some interactions with a lot of them and they could be more polite. Also all the good sauna programs were already booked. Overall it was clean but definitely a bit different than the photos here. So it's worth visiting when you know what to expect, although it's a bit overpriced in my opinion.

Not so good anymore - hot pool is not hot, cold pool is not cold, something has definitely change. Also impossible to relax due to loud people - all last three visits there were loud companies in the Therme area, and nothing is done about this. Such a pity, used to love this place so much.. Only thing I can still recommend is food.

not as good as it used to be in the days when people understood and respected the etiquette of a sauna, the naked body wasn't feared or ridiculed by a minority of ignorants, the staff enforced the rules (politely but firmly), the thermal pools were warm and comfortable instead of a lukewarm travesty, the charges were reasonable, and the clientele were of a higher caliber. These days, a sad reflection of the damage being inflicted on a once highly cultured civilization.

This is the second year in a row we have been to Claudia Therme for my partners birthday, we love it there! We spent almost 10 hours there. We went on a Sunday and it can get rather busy, especially in the pool area. The water has magical healing properties which are great for your skin. We did four Aufgusses throughout the day which it is important to book for on the day. Bring with you a robe, a towel, some wet shoes, things for showering and a book and leave your phone and your worries behind!

Very nice thermal bath surrounded by nature and you can see Cologne cathedral in the distance. The only downside is that you can't use your phone. I do respect the facility's rules/traditions however it's 2020 and phones are used for many things which do not disturb others e.g. reading.

This place is super lovely. Dive into a serene world of warmth and relaxation. Rejuvenate your muscles and soul with sulphur, mineral and outdoor pools. Theres also a dark hot tub room, whirlpool, foot and hand spa, sauna and steam room. Four hours seems like adequate time for doing everything and realising body toxins.

Really amazing place. Didn’t know you could take the cable car straight from the zoo over. Was there for 2.5 hours plus had a 25min massage before going in. Massage is ok, it’s relaxing the aroma one not hard. Amazing pools. Bring a towel, robe, swimwear, flip flops and shampoo, soap etc and water. You can hire towels for €4 and robes too. Everything goes on your wristband. The sauna areas are amazing. One called saunadorf and the other the normal sauna. It’s an extra €6 for both areas. The outside part has amazing wooden huts and honey aufguss. The panorama sauna looks out at the church. The pool is great there too.

Around 10 pools and experiences both indoor and outdoors. There is a water tornado pool outside, which is great fun as well as a hot water tub. For the sauna area you can tap in and out as many as you want and you will be charged once for both indoor and outdoor sauna areas. Make sure you have 1 towel, 1 robe and 1 pair of slippers to go for outdoor sauna. All in all was great experience with helpful staff, however, it is not tourist friendly as it is like a maze and everything is in German. They will give you a map in English but it is even more confusing. Another issue is that there is no cafe that you can go without bathrobe. I asked the staff and they told me that I can go to cafe upstairs without a bathrobe but I was asked to leave by cafe staff, which was a very unpleasant experience.

(Translated by Google) Unfriendly cashier staff, but basically good thermal baths I would like to describe my experience today as "mixed to moderate". In advance, I had downloaded the contact form and given the date and time and of course my personal data. Since I had intended to stay up to 2 hours from the start, I had specified the time from 9-11 a.m. That was probably the first problem for the very unfriendly cashier. "We're filling that out here. You can't even know." I was first put in the lace. Well no matter. Then I wanted to pay. "No, you won't do that until the end." In one tone - well, I then apologized for being a new guest here. It won't happen again, I promise. The stay in and of itself was very good. Large brine pool (inside and outside), whirlpools, of course, can be used by very few people at the moment - thanks to Corona. Of course, none of the people here can say anything. But if sometimes only 1 couple or 1 person is allowed in a pool, then you have to be really quick as soon as a change takes place. In addition, there is a pool with quite iron-rich water, a therapy pool and some relaxation areas. Inside I met a very nice employee who explained to me where I would find the floating pool (you have to go through the sauna area here). Once there, I admit that it is nothing for me, then it quickly became apparent that my circulation system is not really suitable for this air in there, but that is my problem. Used 2 minutes and already another 5, - € away. Well, it's going to be expensive fun. Then finally at the end I came back to the checkout. And what can I say: friendliness is obviously anything but part of the program here. When I wanted to pay € 21.50 for about 1 3/4 hours of bathing (including € 5 for the floating pool) I was naturally asked how much tip I would like to give? 8, 10 or 12%. Great. You don't even ask whether, you just specify how much. And sorry, I think that's very bold. But obviously seems to be a matter of course for the lady. Maybe I would have given something too, but not with the dismissive customer treatment. Thank goodness there was a "No, thank you" button when paying. I'll take it literally.

Great. In the last few months there has been some renovation, more resting places, but fewer saunas ?! The panorama sauna is nice. What impaired the beautiful and relaxing overall impression: we were in the floating pool, only briefly. But that cost an extra 5 euros per person. 😳 We didn't know THAT, supposedly it is there. We didn't see that, although we read all the boards etc carefully (because of Corona). It is a shame that it tarnished our stay. (Translated by Google) WARNING - New hygiene concept verges on bodily harm - I have always been a fan of the Claudius Therme, but with the new hygiene concept they have probably achieved the opposite of what they had in mind. First of all, you have to register in advance on small computers for infusions. Since the system works so slowly, there are regular gatherings of people that would be easiest to prevent without this concept. The annoying thing is that you don't notice much infusions anyway, because they are booked up quickly and only last about 5 minutes anyway. What was even worse than these crowds for the infusions, was that you have to take off your wet mask in front of the saunas due to the continuous mask requirement and confusion occurs. So my companion's mask was swapped after a sauna session, which is probably the most unhygienic thing of all, and the evening was over for us after about an hour. Addendum: Of course we asked for a new mask in the restaurant, but there was none. So we started our way home. Supplement 2: Distance lines or similar should be used in the entrance and exit areas. draw in. Here, too, many people were standing too close together. That is why you should really think carefully about whether a sauna session is the right one at the moment. I think I learned from my mistake.

The place is great (except the food), but the approach to the Corona-related restrictions spoil the impression. First, instead of requiring to pre-book the visit, they let the visitors stand in a long queue. Once you are inside, nobody really cares that the 1.5 m distance is observed. In many places, it's simply impossible. However, they do limit the number of people in basins. That's done in a strange way: 2 couples or 2 guests per basin. If you come with 2 friends, you cannot sit together. Finally, some limitations are mentioned in such a way that many people just don't notice them. E.g. the Dead Sea bath can only be visited by 4 people at a time. But instead of, again, using reservation, or restricting the entrance electronically, they ask guests to take wooden sticks and wait if none is left. The only problem is: you don't expect it and the instruction is small and unreadable if you are shortsighted. And so on. However, once you do get into the bath you want, it's as relaxing as usually.

Clean and large with a good collection of different sauna options. Drawbacks: A bit disappointing atmosphere - not a typical saunaLandschaft - Seems to be more of a swimming hall with a sauna attached. Also pretty expensive, I paid 88 euros for sauna and dinner.

When I conveyed my gluten and lactose free diet to the waiter, a suitable plate was prepared. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of the place was of high quality. The colors used, the objects and the architectural design have been created with fine detail in mind. The pools were overfilled and there was a queue. When I saw the queue at the pool, I realized what a good choice the place I came across while visiting for touristic purposes was.

Well this was.. something. I was with a friend with Sauna and Swimming. First, the entrance is constructed a bit confusing, which continues all the way trough the building. After changing, you don't know where to go to find the Sauna, or when to take off the swimming shorts because the map has no location spot on it and the are no signs. The sauna is mostly located outside, which is great if the weathers nice. Too bad that you get stalked from above because of the cableway. Also everything is very tight and very crowded. Best thing, the Sauna infusion. Or "Aufguss" in German. You have to pay extra to reserve a spot and have to carry a reservation confirmation letter with you 24/7. The swimming and hygiene was nice though. But after all was done, we had to look for a place to change because it can take 10 min to find a free cabin. And of course they ask for a tip without any service in advance at checkout. The staff was not even friendly. If you think about going, maybe think twice about it.

First time in a german bath/sauna and had an amazing experience. The main area is very noisy and full of people making out which isn’t great but the sauna area is divine. Many saunas to choose from and easy to sign up for an augfuss with their prominently displayed screens. Would recommend for a weekend relaxation session. If you are looking for just a pool/hot tub vibe I would look elsewhere, the main area was packed with people. Would return.

I like this thermae so much that I bought a multipass. The relatively new sauna village outside was a great addition to this relaxation centre, and they organise infusions every 30 minutes during the weekend. Relatively large outdoor area where one can sunbathe, weather-permitting, in between the infusions.

Great sauna - don't forget a kimono / full bathrobe if you plan to eat in the sauna area. A T-Shirt is not enough... that's a bit weird and unexpected... no other sauna had this so far in my long Munich Tech Sauna history.

This afternoon I visited these thermal baths and was impressed by the facilities and their overall upkeep. However, I feel compelled to share my disappointment with the service, particularly the rudeness displayed by the restaurant staff. The manner in which the waitress addressed my boyfriend was quite off-putting. Additionally, we encountered an issue when trying to join a scheduled activity within the sauna. Despite being only a minute late, we were not allowed entry, and the staff’s handling of the situation was unnecessarily harsh. While I appreciate punctuality, the lack of courtesy was disheartening. I hope the management takes these concerns into consideration for an improved visitor experience.
