A special place in the Gremberger Wäldchen, my usual local run-off area, which I use about 15 km every day. For me it is above all a memory of forced laborers who were forced to implement our criminal, domineering goals in Germany during the Second World War. In addition, they were deprived of their homeland and subjected to endless physical, mental and spiritual torment. Despite all the grandeur and modernity in Germany, you should never forget that! The place itself is currently in a semi-decaying state because the forestry administration is doing nothing other than breaking up paths and changing plastic waste bags.

The secretive place was the scene of a terrible massacre in April 1945. When Cologne on the left bank of the Rhine was already liberated from the Americans, members of the “Volkssturm” on the right bank of the Rhine shot Soviet forced laborers on the orders of Nazi officials. The memorial stone commemorates don't mind.

Quiet, tidy memorial site located in the middle of the forest. You can take a look at it during a walk in the forest and pause for a moment.

Great - a part of our history, which wasn't always pretty, endures. warning

A place against forgetting. It's good that there are people who look after these places. Russia has forgotten what suffering war brings to humanity.

Sad and touching memorial for victims of the Nazi dictatorship. Unfortunately, there are always disrespectful desecrations by criminals. Ultimately, a beautiful bronze statue was forcibly broken from its foundation and stolen. A shame!

Ein Ort der zum Innehalten einlädt. Es ist eine ruhiger Platz.

👍👍 Small park that makes you think while walking. I think the plaques with human rights embedded in the floor are very good.
