The best club around, since 1938 or so. Nostalgic colonel building and good prices. Rooms are basic but good. Food options are many, at decent rates. The pool is cool. The Sundowner is the best dining place. The view of the Indian Ocean, railway track and road, is just fabulous. Fantastic to be here as always. The old charm remains to this day. Fantastic experiential property.

This place is for members only. Food is excellent. Parking is available only for the club members but for the guest they don't allow parking.

Great club with unique location and ambience. In the heart of the city but hidden away. Good service, food and drinks. Well managed and suitable for families or a quiet drink with friends. The hot butter cuttle fish and bites in general are well done

Good place to play basketball with friends although the court is small. Pool is also good.

My most recent visit saw a big change from the old dumpy colonial style bungalow to a modernised setting with verandahs and lawns, with cafe style food served in fine dining style. The swimming pool had been shifted due to a land acquisition for the adjoining Marine Drive, and they have used the opportunity to develop this more attractive setting. The restaurant appeared to be quite well patronised with it being quite busy for the weekday lunch. Overall a good place for a quick meal, but it is for members and guests only.

Last visit Nov 2022. Excellent place for an event Peaceful and serene environment. Used to be at the beach front due to the extention of the marine drive it is no longer a beach front. This reveiw is based on an event at the business center. Perfect ambiance and very trained and passionate staff. Easy parking for about 30 vehicles. At the resturent food is awesome multiple options to choice from. However it was told that this is a exclusive club and for memebers only.

Old colonial members only club. You need to be a relative or affiliate of a member to come to The Colombo Swimming Club. Well stocked bar and good food is an attraction. Awesome place to watch the sunset over a chilled pint of local beer. BTW don't forget to try "Ravi's Special" cocktail if you happens to go there.

Great location by the sea. Spacious rooms to stay. Neat and clean. Good food. Also has coffee and bakery.

It is still as good as the first I went there and I suggest go there during the night you can get amazing views of the sea

A place to be at when at Colombo

Clean pool. The deep end is DEEP! Separate kids pool which is shallow with fun slides etc. The coffee was lovely, the chips and cheese toasty was a welcome snack after a swim. Fresh clean towels with clean changing rooms. Will happily visit again 👍💯

It’s a classic ,heritage club which is modernly upgraded to match the changing times. On galle face road right next to the American counsulate. The club is one of the most elite clubs of Colombo. The rooms are fantastic. The food quality is very nice, very few vegetarian options in food . The seafacing club has a awesome aura. The swimming pool is 25 meters length approx. Club has affiliations with several international clubs.

I wasn't sure how it would be not to stay in a hotel. The experience was different from a hotel. It felt more homey as compared to a hotel. The place has a calm which is comforting. The sea view from my room was awesome. The food at the swimming club is of good quality.

The vintage architecture and the general ambience strike a chord within me. The view of the ocean is lovely, and the manicured green lawns add to the aesthetic appearance. The food too is scrumptious (with the exception of Watalappam 😔). It's a lovely place for a relaxed midday meal or a cool evening of drinks and dinner....😄

The service was good. The dinner was not up to the standard. Meet (pork and beef) very hard and I could not eat. I enjoyed the fried cuttlefish dish what they served.

Clean, comfortable, well maintained rooms and club. Friendly and helpful staff. We loved our stay there, and hope to return.

Lovely place, but its members only

The facilities were really nice and it was a pleasant experience. I only wish the portion sizes were larger. For the prices that we are paying, the portion sizes wear a little too small but the ambience and the hospitality were top notch!

Had buffet and Alcatraz for three consecutive days and menu need of versatile changes especially on seafood Monday because most of the items taste similar and lacking appetite. Sauce they make yummy at the first sip there on lack the flavours and overwhlem with tomatoes. Environment and ambiance is splendid evening for high tea or romantic dinner at sea side.

this place stuffed up our bookings and separated our family after telling us in advance our rooms would be next to each other. it caused a big hassle and feud between everyone. the waiter for dinner was also very impatient and gave us the wrong drinks that we did not order. if you want to keep the reputation, improve this service please.

This is definitely an awesome place to spend evening and have dinner with family or your friends. The view from here is magnificent and we were instantly delighted on entering the place. When it comes to the pricing, all the foods are expensive as 5 star hotels. They have built a new pool.

Went on invitation, reserved tables on a weekday, not crowded, sat in the pavilion due to bad weather and it was very comfortable. Covid-19 compliant seating and great food and cocktails. The only hitch is that you have to be a member or go with a member!

Met a guest for breakfast . Enjoyed the food. Good portions and competitive prices. Thank you Sarath who served us. The outdoor area plus ocean view is amazing. Wonder how the train noise affects quality of sleep, but it'll be a joy for train afficianados to spot so many vintage engines . Not sure if they allow guest parking .

Went there in noon... Priority in the environment is given to space n calmness ..if in outside you get the breeze coming from ocean... Food is agreeable with average level of customer service...

A members only club in the heart of Colombo, which never disappoints ! On every visit to Colombo, I make it a point to visit Swimming Club for my fix of Lion Beer and Hot Butter Cuttlefish. They have a great selection of drinks and some really good food. They also do theme buffet nights, which looks pretty awesome too.

Hopper night food was very good. Service can always improve. The atmosphere is nice. One of the guests wanted a cigar cutter and the bar didn't have one. Management should get one.

Food was ok. The pool was nice. We went when it was raining so didn't get to enjoy the place that much

Visited with a few friends. Very classy place. The wait staff were very good . I found the food and drinks priced on the higher side but I expected to pay that for amazing atmosphere and the excellent service.

New upstairs restaurant gives you nice atmosphere with the sea view. Highly recommended
