The view is spectacular and the place is well decorated. There is plenty of parking too. The customer service is good, and there's both indoor and outdoor seating space available. However, the downside for me was the prices and lack of drink options. Of course, this place isn't Halal, but hope their menu offered options like juices or even milkshakes. It is still a great place to hangout and enjoy its beachy vibes, though.

Visited the Travellers Bar at the Galle Face hotel for tea and it was very good. The cuppa was great and the location and service was very decent indeed. However be weary of squirrels who'll just snatch your food off your plate.

Awesome place if you wanna go for a high class place and what you care is the ambience and the experience but, not the money. Worth it since this is one of the oldest hotel of Sri Lanka. It gives you a vintage chills. They've got nice options in the menu and apparently one of the very less places I could find non-alcoholic beer. Takes too long to prepare the orders and better to place the order as soon as you get in. Not only the order but for the bill too. TIP - If money is a concern don't get in cuz the food dishes are too expensive.

Fabulous service - very attentive and among the most professional I've seen. I sat outside (not sure if this is still considered Travellers' Bar) - it's an amazing place to watch the sun set, as well as watch the flag ceremony.

The reason I am leaving a 2 stars review it is because the manager of the Traveller's Bar who always say no to customer before saying yes, for a 5 stars hotel, this is not acceptable. We came 2 weeks before to announce that we were coming a group a 15+ at 9am and we will require a la carte service. We were told that no reservation was required and the a la carte service will be available for us, no need for more arrangements. The day we came with the group, the manager told us that a la carte service was not possible until 11am, only the buffet could be used. We were starving and this situation made our group angry. After an argument, the rest of the staff made everything possible to make us having a good time and served us food as the manager stayed in his strict unflexible position. It is the second time in a few months that I have a situation with this manager. It is time that Galle Face Hotel clean the bad apple of the basket...

The Traveler’s bar is the place to head, to order something long and cool and drinkable and sip it as the sun goes down, as the sea turns orange and gold and the heat slowly dissipates. Absolutely delicious food. Located in one of the most iconic hotels in colombo. Just Amazing!

Ordered a hot butter cuttlefish, not worthy for the price and not tasty as well.

Leaving aside the view aspect or the sea waters, the food and cocktails we had weren't great and tasted off. The Chicken Burger was so dry that after every mouth I had to have a sip of water (couldn't finish eating it at the end). The Paneer Butter Masala had no salt! The Ceasar Salad was fine. I ordered a Long-island Ice Tea which tasted horrible... Worst thus far!!! I don't leave negative reviews like this but it wasn't a pleasant experience.

The terrace of the Travellers Bar overlooking the Indian Ocean is a great spot for drinks. Extensive menu with drinks named after celebrities that have graced the Galle Face Hotel. Live entertainment provided by 2 girl singers. Good selection from bar menu for eats. Lovely to watch the waves roll in. Serenity.

Just grab a Ceylon arrack on the rock with deep fried cassava chips and you're set for an evening unlike any other. Visit around 0500 pm and during this time can be crowded but good ambience. Wait for the unique flag folding ceremony which they do every day irrespective of the weather.

Wonderful, historic bar with old colonial ambience and atmosphere. Marvellous collection of photographs of famous visitors over the years. Nice cocktails but the selection could include a few more well known ones. And the service can be a bit slow. But overall a wonderful place for a drink and a must-see spot on a visit to Colombo.

Terrible food preferences

Three of us went for drinks and food on 31/01/2020. Service was incredibly slow. Drinks were watered down. They didn't have some of the items on the menu - we went to have the pink grapefruit margarita and this was not available. There were no paper serviettes to wipe our hands. There was no light on our table so after sunset it got very dark. We thought of ordering more cocktails and got the menu a second time but in the end we decided to leave because we were tired of waiting for someone to take our order. When we called for the bill they said there is a problem with the system and that this too will take time. Absolutely disappointing and frustrating.

Service was not the best. Went after a meeting and had to wait almost 50 minutes to get our 5 club sandwiches. Bill was on time but not the food. When we ordered Tea and coffee with Snacks, they served tea and coffee before that snacks.
