There was a piece of steel wool in my salad alongside came with the pork schnitzel. I found it while I was eating. And requested them to make fresh dish without steel-wool 😂. But we heard there was an argument going on in the kitchen instead of preparing the dish hence it took more time to prepare than we expected .We went there in lunch time on a weekday and the place wasn’t crowded at all nevertheless the waiter who served us very careless and lazy person we had to remind him several time to get serviette and curry sauce because he was on his mobile. Before visiting the Bavarian I’ve check the reviews and majority of them were positive so we assumed that the place is good. We didn’t get the expected service for the money we spent. It’s a shame to have this kinda act from place like this.

Nice restaurant but arrangement is a bit compact. Service and food was good. VAT is added upon the price in the menu but no service charges were included. They have a good range of drinks varying from cocktails, coffee, liquor etc. Mostly crowded by foreigners and was bit too noisy. Better make a reservation before visiting even though it’s not compulsory. Valet parking is available. Washroom is also very compact but was clean.

The deep fried pork knuckle is a must try!!! Tasty authentic German food, love everything about it. Two thumbs up

Tip: the place gets crowded so if ur looking for a seat inside for a pac >3 better call and reserve. The place is lovely with a vintage vibe and feels like your in a German (vintage) pub. The drink selection is good and the cocktails gets u going ! The good however - will need some work. I was not that happy with the food but it’s not bad either. The starters were on spot and the soup was really the way to go ! The steaks were not really medium rare but more rare. The portion size are good (no complain on that) and price is perfect given the place. The dessert - they used to have the best cream brûlée. But this time it was more watery but the taste was good ! Think a little touch’s here and there should get this back to a 5 star! Btw the staff they are really nice ! Feel free to ask them anything !

Great food, liquor choices and also great and easy location for an evening drink. Parking is a bit hectic as their parking space is through a narrow road and most of the time some of the slots are already occupied by close by residents. However, they have valley parking on the up side.

Situated near the Galle face green Infront of the Indian high commission Bavarian is one of the best locations to enjoy German cuisine in Colombo. Generally require reservations during the weekend due to the crowd, it has a typical German pub feeling inside. Seating is a bit compact but the atmosphere is quite amazing. Steaks and Burgers are amazing here especially the beef and pork steaks. Has a nice bar with beer from various countries such as Germany Belgium UK and Asia. Has a good collection of wine and hard liquor. If you are a fan of cocktails they have a wide range of cocktails to satisfy your taste buds. Service is also quite fast but expect to be but slow if the restaurant is crowded. Overall it's a nice place to enjoy a good meal with a beer. Prices are on the high side which is expected being one of the oldest and prime restaurants in Colombo. If you are fan of German cuisine or meat it's a must try.

A little gem of a bar in the middle of Colombo, Sri Lanka. A family of 4 went and ate wonderful food with top service. The Schnitzel I had was huge and so tasty. The Mrs had a steak and rhe kids a chicken burger and a chicken Schnitzel. The food was delicious. Sadly they had sold out of Bitburger beer so I had Lion Lager, served in a stein. German oktoberfest music was playing in the background. All in all we had a fab time and i would highly recommend a visit. Thank you tk the team there for looking after us.

Great place for meaty dishes. The pulled pork mac and cheese was my favourite it’s super delicious. The portion is massive and same the price. Friendly customers with good vibes. Only thing they got a small place and the sittings are a bit closer

The pork ribs were great, they were so tender that they came off the bones easily. The virgin Pina colada was nice. The AC was too much for me. the other customers were were loud as well.

Excellent food, service and ambience. I had steak with mushrooms chips and vegetables and chocolate and nut pudding. Alcohol available. Not so expensive. Preparation and presentation awesome.I must go again.

An excellent place in Sri Lanka to get German food and experience. Their German beers also original. Best place in Colombo for the schnitzels. Food quality is good. Beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. Can spend some quality time.

The number one choice for German food in Sri Lanka. Amazing flavours with high quality meat- juicy, succulent and tender. Even the local meats are of high quality in comparison with many other local establishments. Service is very good. Even though price point is high in the bracket of a star class hotel, portions are very big and excellent value for money. Most of the main meat dishes are more than sufficient for two people, trust me on this! Atmosphere is good and the booth style seats are ideal for a private dinner. As a side note, they have recently updated their prices which is not reflected in any of the menus available online hence i am uploading herewith the new menu with latest prices (note that service charge 10% and taxes to apply for all dishes) .

Ate food last night which was delicious. However after 8pm the place will get crowded.

The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing beverages, food and service. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations.

We loved the huge Schnitzel made in this restaurant. The potato salad and the dressing for salad were also very delicious. The staff was very professional. The atmosphere in the restaurant was a bit dark and they did not have more things mentioned in the menu. But still, we recommend this restaurant for very delicious german food.

Service is very late, the place is kinda packed with chairs all over, drinks are fine, and the atmosphere is unique.

We always go here for special occasions and as usual you enjoy the food really well!!😍 You get a proper German experience with the huge meals coupled up with some good beers. Nothing bad to talk about it but the Cordon bleu was a tad bit dry but it was okay!! Loved the experience

The quality of the food is absolutely amazing.. food was so fresh, and I would say this is one of the best German restaurants in Sri Lanka.. steward Sanjaya was very pleasant and attended all our needs and requirements, the rest of the staff was also very professional.. valet parking is available ..

Awesome place to eat with a chill environment,the steaks are hit or miss. Got it a few times and sometimes it’s perfect medium rare and sometimes the whole steak looks good but it’s chewy. A bit expensive, will be about 3-3.5k per person with beers. Will visit again !

Loved the food here! Generous amount of alcohol in the drinks too. Totally worth the price. Only negative was that they were undergoing a power cut so we had to leave early but it’s understandable. I wish we could’ve stayed longer. Definitely coming back

Excellent service and nice food. Love the atmosphere. Better if they pay attention on the tv channel which being playing in the common tv. (it was discovery channel on that day and the casting program was few naked males & females having fun in middle of a jungle and it's so horrible to watch while having dinner. even some kids were there.) But overall is good
