Out of all the hotels in Colombo, this is by far the favourite. Coffee Stop, Cheers Pub and the other restaurants always serve excellent quality stuff. Have been here countless times and have never had a bad experience. Even when hosting a large event for 400+ hotel had been very accomadating on all the complex requirements.

We had lunch at Platz restaurant on a weekday. Lunch buffet had so many meats, sweets and many more verities to choose. Delicious food. It was a really good time and worth the money we paid. The hotel's swimming pool and surrounding environment are nice. I really recommend this place.

High Tea experience: Perfect calm ambience with beautiful music. A delicious variation of items in the high tea platter. A peaceful atmosphere with beautiful music and excellent service by Madushanka! It started with ideal ice coffees, a two-person platter with 24 items (a good combination of savoury and sweet). Finished it off, you are served with a nice cup of tea or coffee. * * Better if they can add more savoury items. Tip: It's Rs 3000 per 2 people. It's better to reserve in advance. (Jan 2022) Parking is available without a hassle, and the area is not crowded.

Nothing gets 5 stars (ex girl friend does) However, this hotel is worth the money spent. I'm on day 3 of a 1 week intro to Colombo. Here's how it all goes down: Arrival to the airport - my driver was prompt. Reception staff were super courteous and fast. The Cuisine is palatable, not fine dining. International. This gym is modern! Fantastic workouts during my stay. Lastly, The staff are amazing - everyone. E.g., Chef's, Management, Concierge..........everyone!!

Great place to spent time during the pandemic. Rooms are over looking to the gall-face, spotless clean & really cosy. The hotel was seriously following safety protocols. So no worries and thanks for the hotel staff. The staff was really professional and very friendly. Especially to mention the front office staff and room service staff. Food was delicious and always served in right temperature. The breakfast was always full of stuff and heavy! I loved their high tea. Location wise, it is in the heart of colombo and easily accessible. Worth for the money. Hotel has ample and safe parking areas.

Experienced the Brunch at Plates Restaurant.. The spread is amazing and food is mouth watering.. Enjoyed every bit of edibles.. Only down side was the Stewards delay with the service. Noticed only 4 Stewards to serve the full house dining area. All in all delicious food, nice atmosphere, ambient music made my weekend well spent.

I contacted 'Flavours' for a last minute delivery order and was put through to Rachel. She was lovely to deal with! No request was too hard for her! Very quick service, organised a cake and dinner for 8 people efficiently and the delivery was right on time. And the food was as always amazing! This is a phenomenal hotel from the ground up. We’re so glad to have spent our last night of our honeymoon here. Eating at Nuga Gama was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Would recommend anyone eating there. Look it up, it’s amazing! It’s a very carefully and thoughtfully run hotel. Fantastic staff, food and cocktails! Down in reception, Sam really helped us. Due to our evening flight, he arranged a late check out and access to the hospitality area. I imagine most guests want late checkouts but he was so warm when I asked, and found us the next day to make sure everything was ok. This kind of attentiveness and above and beyond care along with everything else I’ve mentioned is why I would recommend staying/eating or both, at the Cinnamon Grand when you find yourself in Colombo.

We have been coming to this hotel for many years, and we have never been disappointed. The staff really make your stay special, and go beyond the extra mile. From the lovely doorman Diaz who always welcomes you and with a friendly smile, to the room attendants who are always attentive to your needs. At guest relations a special mention to Sam who will always helps you in any way he can, even to help you choosing that special cake at the Coffee Shop! All these people made our stay enjoyable & welcoming. We would recommend this hotel absolutely 1st class!

Beautiful hotel situated right opposite Galle Face in the one of the most luxurious parts of the capital. There is a mellow ambience that pervades the air and they have a pianist and singer playing music to soothe you as soon as you enter the foyer. Rooms are about as good as you would expect from a hotel of this calibre. Nothing to complain of. All of them overlook a central courtyard that also doubles as a dining area (although there are several restaurants on the ground floor). We bought a cake (white chocolate) at The Coffee Stop and it was one of the best cakes I have ever eaten. The cake itself was actually good and had cashew nuts and a biscuit base, unlike other cakes which are usually just icing with sponge cake. We ate at The Lagoon restaurant which offers mainly seafood but you can request beef and chicken (these aren't on the menu and are made to order). I would recommend the hot butter cuttlefish and lobster thermidor. The (cream of) chicken soup was also pretty decent as far as soups go. The food wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't anything to write home about, especially if you are keen on seafood(I'm not).

Had my wedding ceremony here at the Atrium Lobby and it was a wonderful experience. The service was excellent. Also stayed the night at the hotel and the room was spacious and clean, comfortable and not to forget the service. The food was also delicious. The continental breakfast was excellent and forgot to take a pic. Had a very nice experience and highly recommended for stay!

We love this hotel and every time we come we always stay at this hotel. We love the service and the food always amazing if I ever get tried of the Sri Lankan food I eat at the buffets they can always make a lovely omelette. The cafe and the service are amazing. Fantastic experience. We booked the executive room at the last minute. The executive room room experience includes exclusive executive lounge access for complimentary breakfast, high tea and happy hour in the evenings. The service and staff in the executive lounge were fantastic and obliged to our requests with a smile. Definitely book again when in Colombo next.

Me and my family visited the Cheers Pub and it was lovely to see the hotel getting back to normal operation. The food as always was fantastic and affordable and the service excellent. Went to the Pool Bar to have a beer 🍻 The experience was really nice. Staff was really helpful and pleasant. Could order bites from the Plates restaurant too. Food is really nice. Hot buttered Cuttlefish is recommended. They played live music using a saxophone 🎷 which was so relaxing 💆 Truly a place that you can relax on and have a beer 🍺 Loved it ❤️

Had lunch buffet yesterday. As usual they had a good variety at the salad station. Excellent selection of sushi. The main course had a decent variety especially had lots of pork varieties yesterday. But wasn't happy with the dessert. It had no variety..most were gelatin based. Loved the hot pudding. Hated the chocolate mouse. Hardly any chocolate in there. Service staff were friendly and courteous.

Enjoyed a weekend dinner buffet at Tides restaurant. It was well arranged and well served. Indian food corner, salad section, wide desserts section, and welcome beverage were the things highlighted to me. The pool area was so cool at night and very romantic. Highly recommended!

One of the first few 5 star hotels in Colombo, has been able to maintain it's standards an quality of service over the years. The location is not especially great - there's no beach access or the hotel isn't closer to any other attraction. In that sense it's more of a city hotel. There are a few restaurants and bars and the food is good.

I stayed here several times when I came in and out of Colombo for business and the rooms and the service was always good, and ate here regularly when I lived here and was working at the Former British High Council Site nearby. The Buffets were good, My daughter loved the fish and chips downstairs in the sports bar. They have a small attached mall with a food court and lots of little shops as well as a grocery store.

The hotel promptly communicated with me that they wouldn't be able to meet my preferred time of delivery (understandable reason given) and kept me updated. The quality of my food was worth the wait and I'm very pleased with the service. The hotel's excellent service in all their food outlets, now including their online outlet, has been wonderfully consistent all these years - they never disappoint - it's the company culture!

Myself and my family stayed at the Cinnamon Grand for 1 week and had a great time. It combines all the amenities, comfort and luxury of a high end hotel with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. All the staff were excellent, making check in easy and quick. The security, valet and front door staff were always friendly and welcoming. The daily room service team were great, constantly checking in with us if there was anything extra we needed. Our room itself was wonderful, spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The restaurant selection in the hotel was also very good, with a variety of cuisines. We especially enjoyed the Cheers pub Some of the restaurants had a bit too much air conditioning at night so long sleeves and trousers might be worth considering bringing along. Extra things to do around the hotel included a nice couple of pools, tennis courts and 2 gyms (we found the gym next door next to the Spa better as it was larger with more equipment and TV screens). Also lounging around the incredibly large lobby was very comfortable, to get a quick bite to eat at the bar or coffee stop. Coffee Stop staff (such as Rameesha) were attentive, friendly and helpful. Overall I'll definitely be staying at Cinnamon Grand the next time I visit Colombo.

Had lunch buffet on the 25th August. Absolutely loved the spread. A good decent variety of food. Special note to the dessert table...Delicious spread of desserts. It was worth the money spent at a time where everyone is trying to cut cost. Thank you cinnamon grand.

It was our first time staying at CG and we had a wonderful experience. Maleesha and Charith were very helpful at the Cinnamon City club and answered all our questions regarding tennis facilities. He went above and beyond, helping me arrange a beautiful cake and coordinating all the details over the phone for my sister's birthday surprise. His dedication and excellent customer service truly made the celebration special. I also want to commend the entire staff at the dinner buffet. Unlike other hotels, everyone was incredibly friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was not only delicious but also served with great care. Thank you for making my sister's birthday celebration memorable.

There are good hotels and there are great hotels. A fact that separates them is the contribution from the bellboy. A good bellboy expects what the customer wants next, even before the customer knows what they want next. Bellboy Sanjeewa helped us to take pictures in the Christmas themed lobby when we were trying to take pictures with our little baby one parent at a time, he helped us many times by capturing them adding the whole family into the picture. It would be great if Cinnamon Grand return to serve as they used to be in the weddings specially with the buffet. Banquet service is good as it used to be but the variety and the arrangement of buffet could resume as it used to be in the past.

I spent 10 days from 11/14/23 through 11/24/23 at Cinnamon Grand. I went to Sri Lanka because my mother was seriously ill. I had a relaxing time at this hotel. Rathnasiri who cleared the room regularly made sure that I had enough drinking water, tea bags and coffee. Samantha who greeted me always in the lobby was friendly and was concerned about my mother’s progress. Dias at the front door greeted me with a friendly smile. The breakfast buffet was excellent, you could find every food item but I enjoyed authentic srilankan breakfast every day. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a well equipped Gym and qualified instructors and I advise everyone to take advantage of this facility during the stay. I will stay at Cinnamon Grand during my next visit to Sri Lanka.

Probably the best five star hotels in Colombo. Has the most number of restaurants in a single hotel. Service quality has always been its best & amazing food. The coffee shop offers a number of savories, cakes & desserts & very reasonably priced.

Very good service. We had our brother in laws wedding at the cinnamon reception hall, and they provided e.thing as we request. The helpers were very helpful till the end of the event.

I stayed at the hotel for only one night since I had a connecting flight in the morning, and instead of this one night being a pleasant, relaxing experience it was quite nerve racking. Firstly, the lady at the front desk was very unfriendly, and didn't really play much attention to me, she was actually talking to a colleague who was next to her, while talking to me. Some of the amenities were missing from the room when I came in. The room was booked for three people, and instead of getting a room with three beds, we got one double bed and they brought and installed and extra (extremely uncomfortable) bed a whole hour after we got in. The extra bed also took up all the space that was left, so we had to jump over the double bed to exit the room. Just a really unpleasant experience, and in all honesty I'm really annoyed.

This hotel is classy and has become a social hub for Sri Lankans as well, with multiple weddings taking place during my stay. I have stayed at the Grand twice already and definitely plan on staying there a during my next visit as well.

It was my first experience in spending a night at Cinnamon Grand. I went there for a food and beverage package offer they had recently. Had to wait for more than hour to check-in however due to the availability of premium rooms, I was upgraded to an executive lounge access room free of charge. I loved the ambience of the room and breakfast was served on Plates restaurant which was recently opened. Since it was a long holiday, place was a bit crowded, however would have been great if they had a more variety on the breakfast items. I would definitely go for another stay when time permits.

Visited Plates on the day of our wedding anniversary on 28.01.2022. We stayed in this hotel on 28th January 1993, 29 years ago. Wonderful place. Buffet was amazing. So many varieties which are mouth watering tasty. Enjoyed a lot. Must visit restaurant in Colombo.

Or the Coffee stop for a snack & a cup of coffee. It's been our second home for many years where we spend most of our evenings or weekend afternoons at lunch buffet/high tea. Coffee stop & tea lounge are our favourite places to meet up & chit chat with friends.

Last time I stayed in Cinnamon lake side and this time decide to stay in Cinnamon Grand . Rooms are well maintained. F &b is still maintaining high standards. Friendly staff . Good selection for breakfast buffet. Cress cat is next door but limited shopping options now a days .

What a lovely venue and plush comfortable beds. Having access to the many restaurants is great. Be sure to get the delicious complimentary breakfast buffet and access to the happy hour in the executive lounge. The staff is so helpful and diligent. really fast and super service !! friendly associates, specially Shanker. we enjoyed our dinner at there London Grill Restaurant a lot . it had a nice classic British ambience. furthermore food was excellent, our steaks were cooked to perfection. I've stayed a number of times in this hotel, each time, my experience is even more better than before. This hotel should be given more than a five star! From impeccable decor to its cleanliness, hygiene, Covid sanitisation safety, it's one of the best hotel I've stayed in from all my travels around the world. Stayed there for 3 nights. Nice and clean room with a cute garden/swimming pool view. Food was amazing - from breakfast to the Indian restaurant. One of the best in Colombo. Staff are very helpful. Good gym facilities as well. Only downside is my room had a bit of moldy smell due to the weather I think

This pandemic has been difficult for everyone, but the Cinnamon Grand staff provided outstanding service. The food was delicious and arrived at our table hot. The drinks we ordered exceeded our expectations. It is highly recommended that you visit this location. The staff is extremely attentive.

I ordered a lunch from flavors on Saturday. The entire delivery process from taking the order to delivering it was very smooth. The person who took the order was very polite and helpful. The order was delivered on time and as expected the food was delicious and everyone enjoyed the meal. However one problem I noticed was that we couldn't track the location of the rider. Better if you could implement a tracking system since it'll be helpful for the customer. All in all I would recommend flavors by cinnamon grand to anyone who wish to order food.

Lovely hotel in Colombo city, very modern, clean with friendly staff. I came here for the afternoon tea as its one of the best in the city and I was not disappointed. The staff were very friendly, the ambience was great and the food didn't disappoint. There is a big swimming pool, the bar was great, everything was very satisfactory.

Their Catering service has to be recognized as my husband and I hosted Thanksgiving for the first time in Sri Lanka in 2020 and the team at Grand took it upon them to do the exact menu I gave them and made it excellent!! And our dinner was the first Turkey they made for the season! The Turkey with trimmings stuffing and gravy Green bean casserole Honey glazed Ham Candied Sweet potato pie with pecans Mashed potatoes Roasted vegetables Bread buns Pumpkin pie Cherry pie They did an amazing awesome job and I can’t thank them enough as our thanksgiving turned out to be the best one ever!! I recently dined at Cheers Pub at Cinnamon Grand Colombo, and once again, the experience exceeded my expectations. The food was absolutely amazing, as always.
