CHURROS located at The Kingsbury in the heart of Colombo is one of the best places to stock up great coffee. Cozy and spacious over looking The Port City Colombo. Reasonably priced mouth watering mini cakes and rich coffee. 4 ⭐️ because I experienced a low pace customer service.

Ordered a Cake for my mother in law with a wording stating "the most resilient mother". This is what I recieved. I can't say much for the taste of the cake but it was embarrassing when she read it out loud. Need some more quality checking before releasing products.

Ordered a cake online last weekend, and it was quite a disaster. The description read > Ribbon Cake with Fluffy Butter Cream and Vanilla Syrup, when in reality there was very less ribbon cake and more butter cream and JAM in the middle. YES. you read it correctly. JAM. I am appalled at the generous level of JAM that was spread on that cake. SERIOUSLY. WOW. NO ONE at the BIRTHDAY party wanted to eat that cake. IT WAS A SAD EVENING FOR THOSE WHO WERE CRAVING GOOD OLD RIBBON CAKE, AND GOT SANDWICH CAKE WITH JAM. My sister complained via email and no one really got back to us, so I am leaving this review here. PLEASE WRITE CLEAR DESCRIPTIONS ON THE WEBSITE. RIBBON CAKE, SANDWICHED WITH SOME BERRYISH KINDA JAM. UGH

Worst high tea experience in my whole life. Long gone are the good old days when the high tea at Kingsbury was the best of the best. Please do not visit Kingsbury expecting the high tea it used to have 3 years ago. What you will get is not even 1/10 th of what is used to be. 1. Sandwiches were dry and stale 2. Buns were old. 3. Small microscopic potions, no buffet, small platters. 4. The macrons were wet and soggy 5. No refill options for drinks. The tea service was confusing and customer unfriendly , but the staff member who came was very polite and proffesional. No options except tea or coffee , only ice coffee and no other options. The tea was just one fill no refill of plain tea without milk. 6. No water or tissue or napkins offered. We had to literally ask for tissues to wipe our hands and mouths. After the meal not even a glass of water. 7. The pastries were old and cold. Only warm thing was the spring roll. 8. Took over 10 minutes for the bill. Mid way while dinning they kept clearing. Made massive amount of noise while clearing items from vacant table which I thought was not nice to those of us who were still seated. 9. The staff was not rude but they were very bad at communicating. They are very rigid and avoid eye contact. Alot of staff members pourpouslessly idle and walk about avoiding attending to customers. 10. Cost Rs 3600 per person with taxes. The sad thing is could have had a better experience selecting items from the coffee shop directly by spending less than Rs 7000 for two. 11. The prawn cutlet has prawn shells and raw inside. I don't know if this deterioration is recently after the economic crisis. But its is no longer what it used to be. This is an utter waste of time and money for such sub standard food. The staff needs to be trained to engage better and communicate their rigid policy or the customers will feel like they are being tricked. Personally I feel very sad for this place. The only reason I am posting this review is if you want to still go there you will subvert your expectations before getting shot in the head like in my case. I wish they will go back to old glory by some miracle.... they need one seriously..or maybi a better pastry chef.

Amazing place for high tea. I enjoyed every dish and it was unmatchable. They have an amazing passion fruit drink and a kiwi drink. Every dish was fresh and tasty. They have everything you expect to have. It's better to have a reservation before going. It's a clean and a very awesome place. The workers were amazingly friendly and I don't want to forget the piano person. He played all my favourite songs and he is a treasure. I loved the experience.

Had a very unpleasant experience today. Went for high tea and basically had to request to pay for the extra payment for the extra food items we ordered since it was not included in the bill. Then again the manager didn’t even had the courtesy to thank for what we did.

It was not satisfactory at all when it come to high tea. With the old happy experience with the amazing high tea Buffett they had, I went there and was so disappointed with the outcome. The only good this was the cappuccino… other than that there were only two drink options those were ice coffee and an apple cordial which were not tasty at all. No refills given as well. The waiters were not responding literary we had to ask and check if we had got all the things that are included. For Rs 3400 it was a total waste of money. The staff was not attentive and there were no cutlery available. There were some Japanese options which we didn’t even want to try. Better let them know your preferences beforehand. I think it is there duty as well to check our preferences.

Not up to kingsbury standards. The tea ordered was weak and was more ice than tea. The staff are inefficient and rather slow paced, they got the order wrong. But it was late and the were probably tired. Personally though, I recommend the mojito and the fresh mango juice. The pastries also were quite attractive and the cheesecake was marvelous but quite pricey.

I actually came to see their amazing Christmas Tree made of Candies and Sweets. Then I decided to get a group photo with the tree and the people in the shop are really happy and helped with it. So kudos for that. Maybe you can check their Christmas Caramel Candy and other Sweets, they really looked amazing.

Great place to have your quick snack. Food is excellent! Cheaper than many 5 star rated hotels. Nice and calm environment. Highly recommended!!

My go to place for cakes. I loved their chocolate chip cake, Almond Cake and Black Forest. They deliver on time with exact wording. Never failed to amaze me with their great service. I have picked up several times by way placing an order in advance. Every time cake was ready on the table for me to pick up. Dropped a start as their cake slices aren't as fresh as the full cakes.

I love salads at Churros, I went today, the Cashier who's always there saw & ignored me, she knew I was coming for my regular salad, and she has to get extra dressing from the kitchen, she didn't want to bother and there were too busy talking to each other rather helping the customer. However, today's salads chicken pieces were so small I decided never go to Churros for salads or to get their unfriendly customer service, very disappointed with girls there today. Where 5 ☆ customer service? Is it given to certain clients who they like?

Rs.3400 per person, well worth the price and tasty clean food but the iced coffee is not enough for a person and the seating arrangements are not up to standard , if you are going for a high tea or for a coffee on a sunny day you will regret sitting near glass windows. Customer service is at its best and very friendly and helpful staff makes you impossible to complain about other issues 🤭,Very Thankful for their best hospitality

Went to have coffee yesterday and the cashier was not paying attention and messed up my order. I was fine with that thinking it's a busy day and everyone makes mistakes but then they served me the worst cafe mocha I've ever had along with a fruit tart that had a bland crust that tasted like Digene. One of the worst experiences at a coffee shop.

This use to be my go to place for coffee and loved every time I went their but since recently the service is super bad, to get two pieces of cakes for takeaway I had to wait their for nearly 30 minutes, and when I ask if they can hurry the server (anusha), was so rude telling me to wait in a really harsh tone. Is this the customer service we expect from a 5 star hotel ???

The service was very poor. We ordered 3 ice-creams and red velvet cake slice and salted Caremel cheesecake. We wanted to order some coffee then when we were at the counter going through the menu one named tharidu Grabbed the coffee menu and went, when we told the person at the counter (dissanayaka) said that it's too late. So we couldn't order coffee end of the day cause they never bought us the menu. The red velvet cake was a utterly disappointing cause it literally tasted like phinoal. When we made a complaint they just took it away and didn't even apologise or tell us that it's been cancelled until we ask. The ice-creams were melted like milkshake. The only good thing was the salted Caremel chesse cake. This place was a total disappointment never recommending to anyone.

This is my 1st time buying a cake from Churros... The blueberry cheesecake was lovely and delicious... They wrote a tamil word on top of the cake as I requested which I didn't expect... I'm so happy with their service... Thank you!!!!

Went for a high tea at Churros. Kingsbury used to provide 'unlimited' refill for food items with the platter and we under the impression that they still followed it that way but was disappointed to find out they don't anymore, especially with the price hike. Anyway, its not a big issue but maybe they could have had a few more items to compensate for it. Apart from the food and the quantity, the 2 stars were due to the fact that the waiters / individuals in suits were not responsive, felt like scared to come to us. When we got the platter we didn't receive the fork and knifes, no straws for the ice coffee and we had to ask for the drinks like 3 times. Practically had to beg for the coffee and drink. The feeling was like we were blacklisted or either they were scared to approach us. Understandable if it was a busy day, but there were plenty of people to serve. Unacceptable! -All my views in this comment are derived / compared to other dining / high tea experiences I've gone to, price and ect did not play a part in my review.

My experience in one word: Delightful! The hot chocolate was simply stunning! Good quality ingredients, felt it from the first drop. Perfect mix! And then their desserts, the Opera cake was soft, smooth and delicious! Again, the cream, the chocolate fillings were perfectly balanced and tasted great! And the prices are very affordable and worth it! I'm kinda bummed that there's no Kingsbury in Kandy because if there was, I'd be visiting you guys a lot!

The high Tea experience at Churros was not so good. Pathetic customer service, the server even didn't take time to explain the platter. The food was not great, a little overpriced considering the overall negative experience. Try Cinnamon Grand High Tea instead. ❤

High tea buffet was awesome! The place is Great for groups meetings. Reserve prior visit. Ambiance is nice! Love the natural light setting and the view outside! Overall experience was great! We ordered a blueberry cheesecake through Shirohana’s for Mother’s Day. First of all we didn’t get that but they were kind enough to inform us that they’ve run out of cream cheese so we opted for a Black Forest Gateaux which turned out to be a complete disappointment. We received the order at around 2p.m. on the 8th but the cake was so dry and had a stale taste to it which made us wonder if it was freshly made or not. The cream on the cake was artificial and was very sour. Overall our experience with that inedible cake was pretty bad and our expectations were quite shredded to pieces.

This is flat white apparently… I dont know what else to say.. I can only imaging how huge a late will be.. 😆 Service is very slow but the atmosphere is good
