It can get quite windy though, but that is not much of a problem. The staff is well trained and helpful. Food was excellent but make sure to ask and know what the dish is exactly. The pitchers are of nice quantity and the choices are very good. Food can take some times to be prepared. Great place for a convo and a little dance towards the later at night as well.

It is called King of the Mambo and it is located in a cozy and elegant building in the Galle Face Hotel. The restaurant has a spacious and comfortable dining area, with a warm and inviting atmosphere facing towards the beach with a mesmerizing sunset where you can observe in the evening. The staff are friendly and attentive, and they make sure you have a great experience. The menu offers a variety of dishes, from appetizers and salads to pasta and many other items. Service is a bit slow when it is crowded during peak hours. I ordered the ALBONDICAS CON PASTA, PASTA DEL MAR, with fries, and a Mojito. The ALBONDICAS CON PASTA was served with tomato sauce and lamb meatballs consisting of spaghetti whereas PASTA DEL MAR was served with the freshest seafood consisting of spaghetti mixed with tomato sauce. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and they came with ketchup. The Mojito was smooth and refreshing, and it complemented the meal perfectly. My friends and family ordered many varieties of Spaghetti with refreshing beverages. The ordered beverages were cold(perfect), and it balanced the spiciness of the meals my friends and family ordered. We enjoyed our food and drinks, and we were satisfied with the portions and the prices. We had a wonderful time at King of the Mambo, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves Latin American food. The restaurant has a great ambiance, service and food quality, and it is suitable for any occasion. Whether you are looking for a romantic date night, a family outing or a casual hangout with friends, you will find something to suit your taste at King of the Mambo.

Came here on a Wednesday night and ended up having a great time as it wasn’t as busy as it usually gets. The food, OMG was so amazing!! 👌👌👌and Zafir who served our table was absolutely amazing at being hospitable with great recommendations on the menu and we couldn’t be happier. Definitely a place to check out!!!

Ooooooooooh! Nice little gem. Cuban inspired right on the sea ( literally dodging ocean spray) fantastic atmosphere with Latin chill out music and a Cuban inspired menu and cocktail list. We had the grilled octopus and grilled tuna salad with some chuck oysters. Come here for old school atmosphere and a hint of Cuba in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 highly recommended

One of the best places to watch the sunset! The cafe has got a Mexican vibe! Staff is friendly and helpful! They know the menu well which is a huge plus point! Cocktails were great! Its a great place to hangout with your friends while sipping a cocktail watching the sunset! They have happy hours and offers often! So do remember to check them out too!

A beautiful place located in Colombo. You can enjoy here with your loved ones. I love there's Mojito! It's really really amazing. But you have to reserve your seat before you go. If you go around 5 pm you can enjoy a beautiful sunset 🌇

Bar and restaurant in the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo, tasty food and drinks with great view of the beach. Nice music in the loco at evening. Friendly staff but the cocktails are lacking of alcohol, every drink you order feels like water and lime juice. Need to revise the barmans ability to make the drinks.

Great atmosphere to chillax with group of friends/co-workers. Excellent spot to admire the sunset or bask u'r self in the moonlight. Tend to get crowded quickly, might be wise to booka table b4 heading.

Located inside Galle face hotel, this is a Cuban restaurant overlooking the ocean. Perfect spot to watch the world go by while you enjoy some refreshing drinks. We had the beef tacos which were simply perfect with right amount of spice and the fried oysters were perfectly crispy and soft. The music was peppy as well. For mains we tried the chicken barbecue and it was so soft and juicy. Definitely recommended.

Cuban themed bar Situated in Galle face hotel, just adjacent to Galle face beach. A chill place to hangout during the weekend with a group of friends or even for a date night. (But it’s pretty loud) Better to reserve a table if it’s for a group, because it gets quite crowded in the weekend & perhaps you could get a better table near the ocean. Drinks were good, food was good too. Customer service not that great maybe because of the huge crowd they were overwhelmed, first of all we got the wrong drinks then the waiter forgot to punch in our food order so was waiting for ages and only when asked we realized he forgot it. Price is bit on the high end, but it’s worth it. Can take lot of nice pictures and they do have a huge ring light if you wanna take a picture. There’s a DJ playing probably cuban? Mexican? music since this is a Cuban themed bar.

Great place, food and cocktails, and nice staff, but it’s difficult to go inside, when go inside hotel no body help you and all body busy and no sign to go there, and when I found it but I was in Deferent floor, I ask the bouncer, how I get to this restaurant, and he useless, only look at me and do nothing “as usual” the bouncer they think must no smile or help. Expect the door man in hotel when i going out he ask me why you didn’t go to restaurant, so he help.

Nice place. Food and beverage is average. Music is not Latin. Dancing floor is a bit local. According to it's name 'King of the Mambo' far short of the expectations.

Super cool place by the sea, perfect for birthdays!! We went for a birthday dinner and the place was so warm and welcoming , Sahara was especially an amazing host and dinner was delicious!

The best time to go is in the evening, it's a sea side restaurant. The best is to go with prior reservation.

Stopped here while transiting through Sri Lanka. Very nice location just by the ocean. Need to enter via Galle Face hotel. Pleasant place to spend a evening and watch sunset from Galle Face beach and watch waves later (there are lights focusing on them). They do have good selection of cocktails. Staff are bit weird or rough to treat customers, not sure if I was dressed nice enough or a looked like a foreigner 😂 Had some trouble sitting on a not reserved table.

The most beautiful place next to the sea. Eat, drink and hear rhe waves. LOVELY Place 😍 I would suggest you to have a drink. We didn't like the food (steak and pork)

Enjoyed the Ladies night at King of the Mambo after so long with my friends. Super range of free cocktails from 6pm to 8pm and also delicious Mexican bar bites !! There was also a fantastic ambience with a gorgeous view of the ocean. Also great service from the staff. I made a reservation before hand as the place is operating according to health guidelines.

Went there with a bunch of friends on a Tuesday evening. Pros 1. Good food. Choice was nice and portions adequate. Cons 1. The long wait until they sent the appropriate person to take our order. 2. Had to go, ask and bring the side plates and cutlery ourselves to avoid delay. 3. Had to go to the bar and ask for a second beer rathe than wait for service. 4. The long wait for the food. 5. Very loud music. Didn’t know they mixed dinner with club concept. Was hard to have a conversation. Summary. Good selection and taste if you have time to wait but conversations while waiting will be difficult due to loud music. Probably the place for drinks and dancing more than dinner and drinks.

A great location and lovely views. But extremely poor service. A mixed crowd of us went there around 5pm on Sunday 26 December. There were not many people at the time, yet getting a waiter to come to table was very difficult. Wait staff were not friendly at all and they constantly avoided making eye contact or acknowledge our requests to order drinks and food. Last set of Drinks and food we ordered did not arrive and yet they’ve charged for them when I checked the bill later. When asked about the orders, no apology from the person who looked like the manager. The cashier was no different. I have visited this bar before and service was way better then this. Hopefully the management will either hire better staff or train the current staff to provide a better service. Drinks were very average as well. All in all an extremely poor experience and felt like we wasted our money at this place. Avoid at any cost.

Marvelous atmosphere. They have got the Cuban theme right. From the uniforms of the staff to the decor to the food. Food was amazing. Atmosphere with the Cuban band was electric. Service was on another level. Waiter Kanishka was exemplary and I dare say almost a professional photographer. He captured some beautiful images of my wife and I during our anniversary dinner outing to this place. We would definitely return for more.

One of best place to see the sunset! Enjoyed the delicious seafood with big lobsters! Would love to visit again!
