Food here is top notch! Beautifully presented, tastes great and also quite filling. Vegan/vegetarian options are available but somewhat limited. Great ambiance. Usually not too crowded or noisy. Excellent staff. Super attentive and helpful. Prices are on the higher end but totally worth it.

Great first experience. I took my son here, and we really enjoyed it. The food was tasty (most of them). The tapas were great, loved the lamb kebab with green chilies inside. The breadrolls served ahead of the food were fresh. The moctails were good. I would have loved it if there were more mocktail options. The staff were really attentive and friendly, and my son also enjoyed the banter with them. The mains (we had the mighty meat) was okay, some really good, some okay, and others weren't. It could be our taste preferences. Overall, we enjoyed this time! It was somewhat busy, but didn't feel disturbed or like a lot going on which was nice.

Perfect place that has calm, upscale atmosphere. It's has its own style. I had my breakfast there and was surprised by its quality/price level. Really i was expecting higher prices because it looks like high-level place. Food was delicious, really nice decorated. And how i missed good coffee till i tried Flat white there. Without any doubt this place should be visited because of unexpectedly high level with reasonable pricing and good service. Very good for business meetings.

It’s a beautiful hidden gem in Park Street. A mansion that is full life and peace at the same time. They have a wide range of breakfasts, and food was great. The staff were extremely helpful and nice.

Lovely ambience, delicious food and very good service. We were greeted by the most lovely aroma of coffee and display of wines. A very relaxed afternoon vibe. As we settled in for lunch we noticed staff setting up the courtyard and pool for an evening event. It looked great! I recommend the soft shell crab as a starter. We had the black pork rice and curry from the dinner menu and the eggs hollandaise from the brunch offerings since we were offered choices from all three menus, the brunch, lunch and dinner (on inquiring). Kitchen staff were excellent as they were able to customize some items to order and did it very quickly. Probably one of the best eggs hollandaise I've had anywhere, with real English muffins - will go back for these most definitely!

Good food. Great ambiance. Drinks are a bit meh/water~ish. I would prefer the food, specifically pastries, to be warm at the time of serving.

It's the end of a fabulous month travelling. A month that has included our Wedding in the Whitsundays and our honeymoon in the Maldives. Thank Goodness we decided on a few days in Sri Lanka before heading home. Our home here has been Uga residence. A beautiful old school Colombo building, the staff have old school courtesy and charm and the restaurant has new school style. Try the restaurant, I repeat, try the restaurant. And when you are full on the fabulous food, served with as much generosity as the flawless hospitality then try the puddings, especially the chocolate mouse. This place deserves all the success I am sure it will have, our time here has been as rich and satisfying as their black pork curry. We'll be back. Spencer and Allie

The best eclairs ever !!!! The best ! Soft and fresh not too sweet just perfect. Ordered a macaroni mushroom with cheese. It lacked flavour, there was no salt or pepper.

I tried their expensive high tea. The platter price is 2500(net) and it’s coming for a one head. High tea is available daily from 3 to 5.30 ⏰ you can arrange inside or outside to get that experience. So we decided outside near the pool 😍 It was a 3 tier platter, but little bit bigger than the usual high teas I’ve had before. 3 Scones, 9 savory items and 8 sweet items comes with this platter. We can select tea, coffee, ice coffee or juices as drinks. I’m totally satisfied with my evening tea ☺ The staff were very friendly and helpful. When I saw the prices of this high tea, I wandered is it worth for spending so much. Finally my idea is yes, but you can get your own experience when you try 😉

Very calm place, but due to the music band, everything was upside dwon. You can have your band there, but ask the band to have a low volume. People are not coming to your place to see the performance of your band. I am really disappointed and dissatisfied because of the high volume of the music band. Went to have business meetings while having lunch. I was really dissatisfied and disappointed. The food is good, tasty and expensive. The ambience is excellent. Good staff and good service. I may not visit the place for a business meeting. Do not recommend having business meetings on weekends at this place.

The food was good, and the portion sizes were huge that we couldn't finish our meals. Has room to improve their service. They took quite a bit of time to bring in our desserts.

I dined at Rare at Residence today with a few of my friends. The experience was exceptional and the food was amazing. The presentation of the food was top notch. The ambience was cozy and eye catching. Last but not the least, the staff is friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. The prices of the food were fair as well. Would definitely visit again and highly recommended!!

We made a reservation for 2 people at 10pm on October 26 2022 as it was last minute in idea. The gentleman who was on the phone reassured us that it was fine for us to come by 10 pm. When we showed up, one of the staff who was by the door was visibly upset that we showed up at that time, even though they close at 11 and still had a big party inside. It was a horrible first experience and it was conveyed to the manager. The manager on duty apologized and informed us that it was fine for us to stay. He also assisted us in choosing a bottle of wine as the inventory was affected due to import restrictions in Sri Lanka. The ambience of the restaurant was pleasing but we found the food to be very average along with the mediocre service for such an establishment. The Waldorf salad was the only dish that stood out. The Vietnamese hand rolled rice paper with tofu was bland in taste and was difficult to eat even though the presentation was nice. The beetroot gnocchi was supposed be served with arugula, however they served with lettuce leaves without even informing us that arugula wasn't available.  Besides the horrible communication of not having arugula, the dish was disappointing in taste as well and the lettuce was a horrible add on. The baked parmesan and garlic mash was another flop of a dish as it lacked in flavor of both garlic and parmesan.  The management didn't charge for this dish after our feedback. The crème brûlée was average in taste as well. After being to another boutique hotel's restaurant in Rosmead place a couple of times, we expect similar or better service and food due to the reputation of Uga chain. However, the overall experience was rather disappointing.  The first impression was negative, hence we aren't too keen in visiting Rare at Uga Residence again.

An old bungalow converted in to a hotel and restaurant - worth a visit to see a modern twist to colonial architecture. The food is very good served by friendly staff with a nice view of the pool area. Portions are on the smaller side so try a few different things including the Mannar crab with poached eggs on avocado toast.
