Was asking for recommendations to take my family out for a meal when someone suggested Ocean. We went back during January. The food, the ambience, the service, were all just amazing. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. And the food tasted so so good.

I must say that I am extremely pleased with my experience here. I admire the great variety of cuisine offered here, in contrast with some other high profile hotels within the proximity... I admit this was just my 4th visit, but I know one thing.. I'll keep coming back here whenever the time is right... I highly recommend for both family and office treat. And maybe even to please your significant other....

Ocean - The best seafood restaurant in colombo. They have huge spread in appetisers and main course. The catch of the day elevates to next level. I had one of the best mixed seafood fried-rice. Special mention to their Tempura prawns 🔥 I would recommend to try it. The dish was merely a masterclass. It was perfectly battered fried. Prawns were so fresh and juicy (Not exaggerated). We ordered lobster and cuttlefish in live counter. Ocean is all about freshness and quality at top notch. You will experience the luxury dining here at ocean. The price is bit high but totally worth it !

This place was on the top of my list to try. Don’t fault the Kingsbury for this restaurant because it just doesn’t match the service at the Harbor Court or Honey. We waited a long time for a waiter to even show up. And then, it was a little awkward. The process of ordering food is not intuitive. So here’s what to do; Look at the styles of cooking. Decide first if you want fried, grilled, curry style, etc. Then go up and pick your seafood, like hand pick it. This was actually a lot of fun. The pricing is “per 100 g” so if the scale reads .503 kg, and the food is 1000Rs, that’s 5,000Rs. You can ask for 200-500 grams of something most times. Like Stingray, we asked for an appetizer of 200g, fried. And it was great. Hope this helps future diners! Just a note to the hotel, you need your best English speaking staff here. The process and the cooking at this restaurant is unique and you need to be able to communicate well with the patrons.

One of the best dinner experience we had recently. The ambient was so nice, lighting, decor and the most special thing was the kitchen which is in the middle of the restaurant. Lobsters, prawns, crabs are displayed there. We ordered mushrooms, grilled fish and chicken with oysters. It was super meal and the staff was also very friendly.

I had a pleasant dinner at Ocean. The soup was very tasty and nicely spiced. My garoupa was nice even if a little bit overcooked (better to ask them not to overcooked if you prefer it less cooked). The dessert was delicious (petit gateau). As I was alone, I asked wine by glass and it was very generously served. The service is efficient and courteous.

The modern aesthetics and the frozen seafood displayed within a cubicle are certainly the star of the restaurant. There is a solid variety of dishes, including beverages to choose from, but the prices are not entirely worth some of the dishes served. It is disappointing to mention that the fish was slightly overcooked as well as the squid. The quantity could be a bit more, but I suppose it's more about the experience than the food itself. However, the other dishes were flavourful and well presented. The customer service wasn't too bad apart from being clumsy twice they are more than happy to assist you. Overall, it was a classy dining experience with good seafood to savour.

The food was great! Took some time for them to make our order though, which was really the only bad part about the meal. But the taste and the service made up for it. Definitely on the pricier side but still worth it considering the quality of the food, service, and ambience. It cost about 22,000+ for 5 people. We got rice portions, drinks, 2 whole fish and 1 prawn curry. Be careful when picking fish though because the price is shown per 100g and some of those fish were actually quite big and heavy so it costs more than you think it would.

One of the best seafood restaurants in town. Love the overall ambience with the action kitchen in the middle of the restaurant. Highly recommending for a proper sit down experience. Staff is very welcoming and providing a good service. Special thanks for Niroshan and Suresh for the outstanding service given always. A go to place in town for good food and for the reasonable price. PS : ask for the prawn spring roll which is spectacular (not in the menu though).

Kingsbury Seafood restaurant is one of the best seafood restaurants in Colombo. Food was really good and service was exceptionally great.

It was not the best dine in experience. The chef's recommended hot batterd cuttlefish was the worst ever hot batterd we had. Sea food platter was too nothing more than alright. Yet we enjoyed the seafood laksa, the sushi and the creamy mussels. Anybody wants to try seafood, there are way better places than this.

OCEAN - My Go-To Seafood Restaurant! When I think about cozy seafood restaurant for my ammi's birthday celebration, 'Ocean' at Kingsbury is always my first option and it never disappoints. From the starter to the dessert, the quality, and the tastes of everything was outstanding - 10/10. Servers were also great and always efficient, happy and polite. I wish to thank Chef Milton & the team for the delicious meals and Ishara & Isuru for the amazing service. It was exceptional in every way! - complimentary chocolates along with the B’day cake, added so much to our enjoyment of what was a birthday celebration. Team Ocean, Y'all are doing a fantastic job! 🤍

Had dinner here with six friends on a Sunday night at 830pm. The crab curry, fried rices, risotto, thai fish curry were sensational. The eggplant was a miss for us - not much complexity and poor quality cheese on top. The restaurant is beautiful but it was freezing cold. We are from Melbourne and still struggled with how cold it was- to the point we had to change tables and use napkins to keep ourselves warm. The worst part was how long we had to wait for food with no updates. The food took in excess of an hour to arrive. When we asked for an update after an hour we were told another 20mins which was at least accurate. Also we specifically ordered the crab curry after clarifying that the crab meat would be removed from the shell for us but this didn't happen and had to complain for it to ensue. Finally - and this was the strangest part- they brought out the wrong rice to our table but because we were all so hungry we didn't notice. However the writer came back a couple of minutes later and asked to take it back- which included scraping it off ny individual plate. Was absurd and should have just been given to us. As a positive the sides/accompanying dishes were very good value. Some of the seafood was a little expensive for average quality (ie 6 average sized tempura prawns for $35 USD). Would not go back and would not recommend.

Service is good but food is not worth the money overcooked I can make better food than there chefs Rubbery squid and over fried prawns and fish

I’ve had a fantastic time at this restaurant recently and the service was so note worthy I felt I must write a review! The person who served us, Nirash was so accommodating and helpful.. he was very knowledgeable of the menu and was able to give us helpful tips on what to order and what quantity.. Kingsbury is lucky to have such dedicated and passionate individuals working for them! Thank you for the excellent food and even better service! I would definitely recommend this place.

Which ever country I am in, I am always on the quest for a good lobster dish. Not surprising then, that I ended up at Ocean, the seafood restaurant at the Kingsbury, in Colombo. I had arrived without a reservation, so after a brief wait and some arm twisting, I got a corner table right by the entrance. Oh well. Beggars cannot be choosers :). While the place was crowded and the seating limited, it had a good vibe, which is enhanced when you see their spread of fresh seafood on ice. They have it all (see my pictures). Diners go to the display and select what they wish to eat. And guess what, there are 40 different ways to cook your fancy, in cuisines that cover Indian, Thai, Chinese, Italian, Continental, Japanese and Sri Lankan. I chose a 0.73 kg lobster to be prepared in a tempered Sri Lankan style (with onions, chilies, etc), The preparation of the dish was unique, intense in taste, and took me to another place. It was very spicy, and should have been toned down so that the cooking style itself does not bury the taste and flavor of most of the lobster bites. For dessert, I asked for chocolate biscuit pudding. It was not on the menu, but the server obliged and got it from another restaurant at the hotel. It was tough, cold, hardly layered, too sweet and a disappointment. Service overall, was superb.

Food is great and place is very nice. But we were given a table in corner without a nice view although there were a lot of vacant tables. When asked they said that all were occupied. However they were vacant until we left.

Absolutely worth it! Went for brunch. Had a great widespread of food. The atmosphere and service are top class.

It was a wonderful experience at ocean seafood restaurant kingsbury colombo. Food was delicious. Everybit of it. Singapore style chilly fish was my favorite. Surprise cake organized by Amila added more taste to the time we spent. He did a great job. Thank you Amila.

Really good restaurant. Niroshan is the best assistant manager. Food is excellent. I highly recommend it.

Some of the best seafood we have ever had. Stunning crab and baked snapper. Very well priced. Service second to none. We were made to feel special and well looked after by all the staff.

Mussels were bad. Lobsters were usual. Nothing special. Can’t recommend to visit

Overall the food tasted great. Loved their cooked crustaceans and cuttle fish. I would’ve given this location a 4.5 stars as the dessert wasn’t as great as we had expected. But overall ambience, customer service and food presentation was awesome 👏
