Very nice restaurant on the 4th floor at Mövenpick Hotel. Wide variety of food and a good selection for the buffet. There are liver stations and carvery as well. Desserts are also excellent. Staff is very helpful and accommodating. Friendly service. Can get busy, especially Fri to Sun, so best make reservations. Definitely recommend.

We went to lunch buffet in July 2022. There were various food combinations here. There were sushi rolls, that was the most delicious dish. Sri Lankan foods are really great here. Dhal curry, coconut sambal etc. There was a good collection of salads 🥗. The desserts 🍨 are really delicious. Fruit salad combination is really nice: Papaya, pineapple, watermelon, passion fruit etc. There are different types of sweets are there. cake 🍰 also delicious. I really recommend this place, worth for the payment.

Didn’t see it at the beginning but if did, would have started from there. They had a wide variation of dessert available. Live kitchen had few good meat options as well. Came over for a family lunch on 23/01/2023 and the food was really good with a wide range of food from various cuisines and continents. The staff was very friendly. Price was also very reasonable and I would easily recommend the lunch buffet here.

I have been in Ayu restaurant on 28th May to celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary with group of my friends. The food was delicious and and Ayu team made it memorable. Special thanks goes to Chef Sudath for his attention and for making our day memorable.

This place used to have a big variety of food. Went there for Lunch Buffet on 6th August, 2022. Nothing much to choose. No Seafood. Only two rice choices and only one noodles choice. Only Two variety of Chicken and one of pork item were there. Food quality and taste was good. But it would be much better if their buffet menu was bigger like before 1-2 years.

Went here on a Tuesday this month with thr family because of positive previous experience but the buffet was not there due to having almost no guests. Ordered a seafood platter for LKR 12,000 and it wasn't worth it. The seafood was stale and especially the crabs tasted bad. Even the crabs were of relatively small size despite their description before serving. However, the soups were good especially the soup of the day with sweet corn. Won't eat here again.

Went here for the dinner buffet on a Sunday night. Not much of a variety for the price paid. Could improve much more on the variety of meat items / salads / desserts and even mains. Sushi was good. There was a meat loaf corner with the cutting machine but no one to cut the meat. It is hard to spot this corner as the meat was wrapped in cellophane and not so visible that It is a part of the buffet. Ambiance could improve with more lighting as it is a beautiful set up but too dark. There was an ice cream ‘kottu’ corner which was nice but again no one to make it. Waiters are running around looking for a chef. At the time of making the reservation over the phone I requested for a bday cake as a surprise. But they had completely forgotten it and I had to go and ask for it. Never had that experience before at other hotels. Overall it is a lovely restaurant but with lot of areas for improvement.

We went for a team buffet. Buffet is Ok for the price that you pay. I would say, it has only limited set of collections compared to other 5 star buffets in Colombo but taste is good. Service is also really good. Staffs are always with a smiling face; it is definitely a plus point. I liked the desserts a lot. 😁

A good buffet option in Colombo. We went there for a dinner buffet on a weekday. The llace had a few guests. The staff were veey warm and courteous. They speak well too. The ambience is really good. The buffet spread is good. Especially the Indian/SriLankan and the Dessert spreads were really good. The cost is a bit high but worth it. They also have a live icecream counter. Overall the experience was good.

Weekday buffet - Starters were not that good. Mains were okay and desserts were nice. Overall, not worth for 5,900/= because the spread wasn't enough. Try their cakes. They're really good.

Absolutely delicious food.. you hardly in general get good quality food in buffet but this place has outdone themselves.. we asked if they had chicken curry and they made us some and next day it was in the buffet too. I also said casual it would good to have more chocolate dessert.. Next day, boom its on the spread... Great to see a place to listen to their customers and the service was outstanding.. I highly recommend AYU.

Went for the dinner buffet recently. Not satisfied with the quality of the food or the variety of the spread. Only had one sea food dish . Breudher bun served at the dessert table was stale despite it being the christmas season. Wouldn't recommend this. Not worth the money.

We came for the Saturday dinner buffet. The service was good but the food qualify has gone down. Some of food didn’t taste fresh and the varieties were not worth the price increase. Need to do better

Went for a lunch buffet. Had a wide variety of different types of cuisines. Some of those were delicious and some were average. However overall it was good. Had a nice time, the environment was so calm and quiet as it was less crowded. The staff was also friendly.

People were nice and helpful. Range of food was disappointing with majority being either Sri Lankan or Indian. Dessert had quite a variety but tasted all the same... not worth for the money we paid.

Went for Surf n Turf on Saturday. The food was awesome, good spread! Lovely ambience, and the staff were really friendly. I would recommend this restaurant to any meat lover

I went to the lunch bufett in AYU restorent. The meals were good and quality. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. They did a fine arrangement for my brother in low's birthday. Lunch options are good. But Sri Lankan curries are less. I enjoyed their burger stations. There were a lot of dessert options but fresh fruits were less.ice cream options were really good. Staff is very welcoming and always ready to assist you. There were few live stations as well. Really enjoyed the buffet Washrooms were also clean. There were a lot of mirrors inside which I didn't like that much. I went with my one year old baby and I must say they were very supportive and concerned about the baby.

Came here after the fabulous Christmas Eve dinner we had, expecting the same delicious food, however highly disappointed with their ala carte menu. We ordered the lamb buriyani which was super dry and the quantities enormous and stale. We don’t recommend ala carte at Ayu

AYU restaurant from Movenpick Hotel. Rooftop bar foods arrived from this restaurant. Food are amazing. Chalani help us out of the way. Really nice staff. Chalani really help us to choose the food menu.

The restaurant is located on the 4th floor of the Mövenpick Hotel and has a nice ambience, good service and very delicious food! Only the very loud chairs are annoying, please buy some pads for the chair legs!!! The restaurant's menu is identical to the hotel's room dining menu.
