Soulful and authentic local Sri Lankan food. Delicious. For outsider, if wish to experience the local cuisine, it’s a must visit place. Only issue, there is mosquitoes menace during late evenings. The restaurant does not serve liquor.

A wonderful place! Dined here on our first night in Colombo, and while we had quite a long wait as there was a large group there, the food made it all worth it. Delicious spicy treats, I recommend the pol sambol and cuttlefish curry in particular! The ambience and decor is also lovely, as were the staff!

I must say food is delicious. So sure that most of their items are super delicious! Highly recommended for SL authentic food. Nice and attractive atmosphere but the place is somewhat small when it’s crowded. Should improve the service with food. It takes long time to serve and very slow on billing and customer service.

The place is beautiful, but they have to invest more time on cleanliness. Tables are not clean, there are a lot of ants on the table. The place is also infested with mosquitoes. The staff is friendly but they looked very confused. Service is slow. Heads up, the biryani comes only with one chicken / mutton piece. The taste was good. DO NOT order FISH. You will be disappointed. It’s very chewy and like rubber.

Was so excited to visit this restaurant due to their popularity on instagram. Food was really good but the staffs needs to be more attentive and definitely needs to improve their service. 1 of our dish wasn’t able to serve because of multiple servers interfering with us while ordering. 1 server per table will be a good intervention to avoid this issues, it’s hard to follow up orders as well, servers will just stare at you and give a face… very disappointing!!

Culture Colombo is has a great ambience which is a beautifully refurbished old bungalow. Seating is available both inside and outside and the interior is well designed. Food was quite nice. We had hoppers, pol roti, cheesy roti and a chicken kottu. The curries were not the best but not bad. It takes a time for food to reach the tables even though it isn’t busy. The waiters can improve on the service. There is parking available for several slots else the road side can be used. Overall a good place to visit to try Sri Lankan food.

Very spacious. Comfy seats. Great menu. “Kulla” is highly recommend and it goes with their homemade ginger beer.

Such a lovely place to visit specially the service provided by the staff is outstanding. If your around colombo you must visit this place to taste the authentic local food. Vinod the one who served us was always with a smile and never did forget to suggest the quantity of the ordered we placed and was keenly in and around to find if we wanted anything more. Most importantly this was done when the restaurant was full with almost all the tables were occupied. Am glad I visited Culture Colombo and definitely will come back for more till I taste the whole menu 😋

Had a delicious meal for my lunch today. It was worth for the money you spent. All the dishes was well cooked with correct amount of spices and portions were perfect. You can find them on Uber Eats even during the travel restrictions.

I had an amazing lunch at Culture Colombo. I ordered the chicken lamprais and enjoyed every bite. The flavors were fantastic, and the presentation was impeccable. The king coconut was a perfect compliment to the meal. What truly stood out was the excellent service – the staff was friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be returning for more. Highly recommend this place!

Amazing ambience and food. They have unique dishes that need to be tried out. I'd say the cost per person would be around 3000 LKR ++ they have parking spaces available as well.

“Kachal Rice” Wow, rice was delicious and the portion was more than enough for 2 peoples.

If you are looking to fulfill your cravings on Lankan cusine, then this place offers some amazing options. We were a pack of 4, and the service was so good. Loved the ambiance. Very creative menus. A must try are the "BAMBOO BIRIYANI", " TASTING PLATTER", and the legendary "KACHAL RICE" (mix meat rice 🤣) such a creative way to call it that way. They got home made ginger beer too, which is absolutely refreshing. A tiny lil concern was, the string hoppers from the tasting platter was too rubbery and didn't taste very well. But it definitely didn't pull the strings down on the taste of the other dishes. Overall experience was really amazing. Do give it a try.❤️

This is a place which has wonderful atmosphere and large dining area to have good srilanka foods. We ordered Chicken Bamboo biriyani, kachal rice and faluda. Food is ok but nothing special for this over price range. I would ask to avoid the deserts. however the staffs are friendly and good service.

We ordered rice and curry, chicken briyani, kachal rice.. nothing much about to complain about the food, the place was nice and services are pretty good apart from the managers behavior, he was very rude to the customers and he refused to pack the remaining food.

Having a calm environment. Overall the food taste was really good and they are having bamboo biriyani (chicken and mutton).unfortunately mutton biriyani wasn't there at that time. Also they have Goraka Juize which i have never tasted from anywhere.it was good but they spoiled it making it too sweet. Also anyone can enjoy while hanging with friends and can stay for a while even after having the meal.not too crowded. Anyway the staff is really good.

Recently got Vegetable Rice and Curry from here. I would say a bit expensive but had a boiled banana leaf as a wrap that kept the food fresh. Food is good. Presentation is good for a Uber Eats delivery. Will update the rating after trying other Non Veg items in future.

Just the place that you need to visit to have an Authentic classic experience that does not only treat your eyes but also your mouth. The place is wonderful. Convenient location. Ample room for parking. Had lime juice with mint and passion fruit. They’ve grinder the mint and mixed it with the lime juice which made it the best juice I’ve tried. Food is delicious. Tried the Kachal rice which consists of chicken, mutton, prawns and fish. It fills your tummy and your heart. Washrooms are very clean. Staff are friendly. 10/10.

We went for lunch at this place, and while there weren't many customers present, I would highly recommend it as an ideal spot to bring guests for a meal. The unique and authentic Sri Lankan cuisine available here is truly exceptional. I strongly recommend trying the handmade ginger beer and tamarind drink, both of which are delicious. Additionally, I must commend the lack of oil content in the dishes; the food is not oily at all, particularly when it comes to the lump rice which is a must-try.

A great dining experience, gives you the opportunity to taste the culinary delights of Sri Lanka. But be warned if you need to temper the spice don’t forget to ask the staff and they will do their best. Overall a great venue and would highly recommend it but recommend making a reservation.

Cold food was served after 30 minutes of sitting at this restaurant (just because they had a hugh order for delivery they forgot to serve me the order). This was The Hoppers were hard as paper and the side portions were as miniature as possible. The homemade Ginger beer was Horrible. Please don't spoil the wonderful culinary culture of this beautiful country. Went back hungry despite of paying almost 2000/- LKR.

If you need to take your foreign colleagues, business visitors to have a kind of authentic sri lankan food, this would be an ideal place. Their food is awesome and scrumptious. Service is also excellent. Ample parking is available. They have a vast range of food available. Though the price is little bit in higher side, that would be worth.

Recently, I had the pleasure of enjoying an amazing lunch at Culture Colombo. I opted for the chicken lamprais and was thoroughly impressed. Each bite was a burst of fantastic flavours, blending traditional spices that tantalise the taste buds. The dish's presentation was impeccable, adding to the overall dining experience. To complement my meal, I chose the king coconut, the perfect accompaniment, offering a refreshing balance to the rich flavours of the lampreys. But what elevated the experience at Culture Colombo was the exceptional service. The staff was friendly and friendly and attentive, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable dining atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Culture Colombo. It's a place I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for a blend of delicious food, excellent service, and a warm ambience. A true culinary gem in Colombo!

We went for lunch and got mutton bamboo biriyani, prawns fried rice and for desserts wattalapam n caramel pudding. It was expensive when compared to other normal restaurants but it was worth for the price paid. The quantity was normal which is enough for a person and the taste was outstanding. We enjoyed alot. The restaurant's atmosphere was very calm and lovely.

Good selection of lankan dishes and friendly staff. They allow BYOB and the reservations are well handled. We had a good time and enjoyed our drinks with some spicy yummy lankan bites.

We went there for dinner with a prior reservation. The ambiance was good & the dining area was not crowded. We ordered their signature Bamboo Biriyani & the Tasting Basket. Tasting Basket provided a taste of most of the Sri Lankan food at once. The beverages were nice as well. The staff was very attentive and helped to make our experience better. Parking is available for around 5-6 vehicles.

The staff are pleasant and welcoming and we left fully satisfied! Would definitely come again. Recommended for tourist as well as they adjust the spice levels based on your requirements.

Culture Colombo is the latest restaurant in town creating quite the buzz. People have been raving about their great interior and their bamboo biriyani, especially. So we headed over to check out what the hype was all about. Ambience All the positive comments we heard about the interior of Culture Colombo had our interests piqued, but seeing the place in person made us appreciate how lovely it was a lot more! Culture Colombo aims to give diners the Walawwa experience, and they have successfully paved way for that with their well thought out planning and decorating of their space. From the striking mural walls, the tasteful incorporation of color to certain walls, they have beautifully merged vintage with modern. So Kudos to the team for pulling it off! Drinks Considering that Sri Lankan food typically fills you up easily, we opted for the King Coconut Lime (Rs. 250) juice. They had achieved a satisfactory balance between the King Coconut and the lime, with just the right amount of sweetness. As expected, the drink was a great accompaniment to the meal. The staff also suggested we try their Homemade Ginger Beer (Rs. 300). This too we loved, especially because it pairs really well with local food. Will recommend. Food Since we heard such good things about the Bamboo Biriyani, that's what we tried first. We tried their Chicken Bamboo Biriyani (Rs. 795), which makes for quite the theatrical value as it’s served. As is typical, the biriyani was served with raita, homemade chutney and masala curry. The biriyani, however, did not live upto the hype. We found it quite bland not leaving much to be desired. While presentation is important, ultimately, taste trumps all. Considering Culture Colombo focused on local cuisine, it would be remiss if we didn't order a Rice and Curry (Rs. 375). It comprised red or white rice, vegetable curries, salad or mallung, sinhala achcharu/Malay pickle/lime pickle. This is a vegetarian option, so meat will have to be ordered separately. Unsurprisingly, the rice and curry was quite good - the curries (dhal and beetroot), the mallung and the achcharu were all quite tasty. Paired with the meat we ordered separately (more on that below), it was a hearty yet tasty meal. We ordered Kukulmas Kaluwata Uyala (Rs. 450), Maalu Ambulthiyal (Rs. 550) and Hot Butter Dallo (Rs. 650). The chicken curry was good, but could have been better taste wise, lacking in the flavour department. The ambulthiyal however was packed with flavour. Our absolutely favorite was the Hot Butter Dallo which was fantastic! From the taste to the texture, it was hands down the standout dish at Culture Colombo. A part of the chef's special range included the Mati Walande Dry Curry. Of that list, we tried the Prawn Dry Curry Bowl (Rs. 2350 - half bowl for 2 people) paired with a carb of your choice. We picked the roast paan. The prawn curry was served in a clay pot, and another of our favourites here at Culture Colombo. Full of flavour and spice, it was the perfect end to the meal! Although the food didn't blow our minds, it was satisfactory enough to warrant a return visit. Besides, considering that they just started, there's always room for improvement. Service was amazing! The staff were attentive and had a positive attitude, answering our questions with patience and generally were very helpful. The ambience was great and we loved it. The prices too were quite reasonable. Don't hesitate to use your hands - after all, rice and curry especially is best enjoyed eaten this way. They have a clean area to wash the hands, a little away from the toilets, which we appreciated. What I recommended: Hot Butter Dallo, Prawn Dry Curry Bowl and Homemade Ginger Beer Would I go again? Since we dropped by during their teething period, we hope they will be able to iron out the minor faults in some of their dishes. So will definitely go back. Especially for the dallo! Notes: They also have a business lunch. All prices are subjected to service charge and applicable government levy

First time I visited this place on the 9th Jan in the evening, we were served old egg roti which hardly had any egg, also the coconut sambol tasted foul , as the milk has been extracted from it , Customers shouldn’t be hoodwinked by the fancy persona of the place they need to serve fresh food too!!
