1. Customer service is not good. They take a long time to deliver food. 2. You can’t take your own time to have a peaceful meal since they pressurize you to have meals as soon as possible hence no peace while eating. 3. Food is not worth for money at all. Even a masala tea is LKR 250. DYou can get even a better tasty food at a place like Saraswathie Lodge - Bambalapitiya at a way lesser price. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. But try Saraswathie Lodge Bambalapitiya.

Everything was super spicy 🔥 The staff was not courteous. We specifically asked the manager that we need less spicy food, but the food received was again spicy. When we complained, the server started arguments that you never mentioned that you need less spicy food, when the we called the manager, he agreed that we ordered for less spicy food. The restaurant should train the staff to be courteous.

We went to Shanmugas after quite a while but their standards and service and outstanding food were exactly the same as we remember it. Went around 10pm Saturday night but the place was crowded as it was still the beginning of the evening. Didnt have to wait more than 5 minutes till they arrange us a table in a comfy corner of the place. It took less than 10 minutes of waiting once we order our food, them to be delivered. The waiter was so helpful and guided us swiftly through the menu to find our preferred meals and correct amounts. All the meals were unbelievably good and so tasty. Made with best of ingredients and really really worth the price. If you prefer a not-so-heavy Indian dinner, this place is so good for you. Try their cheese masala dosai, and take chapathi Kurma which is so delicious. The environment is so comfortable and even the place was full with crowd, there were not much noice which distracts you while dining. Recommending for all the Indian food lovers. Try this place!

Best Place to have Indian cuisine in Colombo situated on Marine Drive Wellawatta. Inside of the restaurant gives you a very calm and peaceful atmosphere. Food is very clean and tasty. Their food menu includes Soup, Starters such as Omelette/Mushroom fry/ Indian Tali during Lunch, Dosai, Idly, Parota, Chappati, Chilli Parota, Noodles and also delicious desserts and fruit juices. Prices for example 2 Pcs of Idly with chutney and sambar would be Rs 230 and Masala Dosai would be Rs 420. Prices of the food are averagely high. But their ingredient must be good quality and healthy. This a Vegetarian restaurant.

One of the best south Indian restaurant in Sri Lanka. Food is really delicious and fresh. They serve variety of authentic south Indian dishes. The staff is really friendly and helpful as well. I went there with my family and we tried different dishes and they all tasted great except for the cheese dosa. Cheese dosa was okay but bit oily for my taste. Rest of the dishes however were top notch. Wade was warm and fresh with a crispy texture. Paper dosa was nice too. We also had some idli as well and it was also soft and tasty. With every dish, you get the staple chutneys and curry dish so you don't have to order any side dishes. To finish off we ordered some tea and I would highly recommend their masala tea. They don't have their parking so you have to park on the side of the road. You could access the restaurant from Ramakrishna road which links the Galle Road and Marine Drive. I guess they are on food delivery services like Uber eats as well but for the best experience, I would recommend visiting there. Try to avoid rush hours because they could be house full.

A good place to get authentic indian food in Wellawatte. Service is good and the prices are reasonable. Remember to reserve a table if you are visiting during a busy time. The restaurant is 100% vegetarian. However, one doesn't miss having meat as their vegetarian dishes taste really good. We have been going to Shanmugas for a quick meal over several years and the quality of the food and the service have been consistent over the years.

Shanmugas has started going down with their standards. They have increased their prices of Dosa, Naan, Parata and other dishes at a very unreasonable rate and offering small portions. They really have to fix this issue. I was unhappy in my last month visit

Its a place where you can get very tasty vegetarian dishes. Price is a bit higher but affordable to dine in once in a while. Sorry to say that I visited during pongal day and it was busy, I ordered milk coffee but there was a fly in that, Luckily I didn't drink. The taste and quality of food has deteriorated since we dined last at this restaurant. The hand wash area was unclean and totally neglected. Waiting time for order to come through is due to short of staff and maybe due to situations pertaining to Covid. If the outlet is in operation, it's important to maintain your standards.

Sri Vihar, does live upto its hype in tasty vegetarian food. The ambience is not that great, the prices are a little too inflated, the service is just about alright. If you are a meat lover, this probably isn't the best place for you. All in all, not a bad place for a rushed lunch in the heart of Colombo.

Shanmugas is one of the older and more reputed vegetarian Indian restaurants. They're definitely pricier than most places but the food is very good and the service is excellent. They offer a varied and extensive vegetarian menu with pretty much all the classics. Ghee dosai in general tastes pretty good but this one had a great balance of flavour, texture and creaminess. They offer chaat items and Vada Pav and Pav Bhaji are two items you should not miss. Overall a great place to have your vegetarian cravings satisfied.

One of the best South Indian Restaurants in SL. Two of us had Masala vada, Ulundu Vada, Vada Pav, Parota Kuruma, Ottappalam Dosai & Milk toffee type Sweet cake. We have mistakenly ordered a Plain Dosai instead of Ottappalam Dosai. Manager is kind hearted and replaced with the correct item without any hesitation.

The madras meal is the cheapest, waiting time is about 20 minutes, the food is fresh and well plated. The restaurant is always full so reserve a table before you visit this restaurant. It is an excellent vegetarian restaurant,which is do not miss when ever I visit Colombo. I visited this after almost two years due to Corona situation. Shanmugas is a best vegetarian restaurant ever I've been to in Sri Lanka. I've heard some people say that, it is the best vegetarian restaurant in South Asia too. I have had "Ulunthu Vadai, North Indian Thali, South Indian Thali, Paper dosai, idli & etc.." All of them were absolutely fantastic and the internal environment of the shop was really wonderful. That sandalwood fragrance and little volumed BGM song was brought me to paradise. Satisfied customer service and the hygiene of the employees adding more value to this shop and made me feel to go there again.

Have always loved their food. Tried the South Indian Thali recently and was very happy with it. Got 6 vegetarian curries, rasam , curd, pickle, payasam, papadam, 2 poori and unlimited rice. They have always seemed pricey, but the Thali was reasonably priced at 1200 when considering the prices hikes everywhere.
