We went to the dining buffet on 11th April. The food was delicious but they had limited varieties. Only one soup, small buns with butter, and two action stations for hoppers and spaghetti. There was a Sri Lankan food corner that consists of rice and curries. Nan roti and paneer were delicious. Pork, Chicken, beef, fish, and cuttlefish dishes were available. Salads and desserts were available in varieties.

Located at Mount Lavinia Hotel, the name itself gives a royal feel. The food is exclusive there, having multiple cuisines at a single spread. During my stay there i found Italian, Chinese and Sri Lankan food at a single spread. The staff are very courteous and the service is very good. Deserves a recommendation.

We had a reservation for 4 for Dinner. It was to host 2 good friends from Finland and they enjoyed a lot at the pool side with live one man music. Music was soothing to max. and we all enjoyed his performance on guitar with local as well as international instrumental playing. It was a very good mix of food with starters, beverages, soups, main courses, desserts, etc, etc. The two Finnish were enjoying the Sri Lankan authentic cuisine as well as the other options available such as Italian, Chinese, Indian, etc. The overall outlook was very calmful and enjoyable with very nice night lights along the coastal strip towards the Colombo city. All in all, it was valuable more than what we spent.

I had a delightful lunch experience with my wife, our 3-year-old daughter, and our 3-month-old daughter on a Saturday. The location is charming, and we enjoyed the refreshing sea breeze that day. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. I've dined at various restaurants, but this one stands out as the best for Sri Lankan cuisine. Among the dishes we tried, the cutlets, calamari stew, and beef curry were outstanding. Their pudding was also a delicious treat.

Food was not tasty at all in Sunday buffet at goveners restaurant. Not worth the price. Roasted pork was insipid. Chicken tickka was OK. Beef curry was not tasty at all. Tasted different. Not sri lankan. No fried rice . White rice and red rice was dry. Buriyani was tasteless. Whole buffet was a flop. Will never go there again Whole thing was highly disappointing.

We had lunch buffet on a Saturday. Food were excellent, and staff members are very professional. They had a few varieties of tasty starters, desert and mains with 2 live stations for pastas and grilled fish. Even though there was a wide variety of indian and srilankan mains, there was only 4-5 western main dishes which i would love to see if they add more. Prices were almost 5000 per person net. Great Sri Lankan selections. Fruits and Salads. Fresh desserts. The chocolate biscuit pudding is to die for. Fill up your plates and sit on the terrace. Then, relax and allow yourself to be hypnotized by the moment and the magic, of being in one of the finest destinations in Sri Lanka.

I went there in end of the may 2019. There are less amount of variations in the menu. May be because of the esters attack happen in April. Mainly the dinner buffet contained Sri Lankan and Indian food. There were small amount of starters and desserts too. However their menu has a unique taste. But the variation is less than the buffets in other hotels. Crispy pork and Roasted pork were very tasty and I I never tasted crispy pork in other hotels before. And there were no good japanese or chinese cuisine. I could have Something like Sushi, but it wasn’t prepared with Tuna or Salmon. The menu of desserts were tasty same as other buffets. The place is clean and has nice views.

Beautiful and historical place. There was a Italian buffet with Sri Lankan corner. Not worth for the money Rs. 5,250/-. Boring dinner buffet with limited varieties and food was not upto the standard (recently very good). Salty chicken curry, even failed serve Roasted pork with sauce(tasteless), I informed to the chef but he didn’t consider that. Fruit trifle and cheesecake slices were delicious. Firstly I decided to sit pool side and requested a soup spoon from the pool side Manager, but he didn’t respond to that. Then I moved to Restaurent due bad service and bad weather. Restaurant service was good. I’m telling all bad sides bcos I love this place since my childhood.

It's a nice building with amazing ocean views. Great live music. Good service. Plenty of choices including local srilankan dishes which we like very much. However if your aim is decent international food, please go else where, such as Hilton Residence, Cinnamon, Shangri-la, they are far better and could be cheaper. There are many fries around the seafood here, so you might need certain strong will to try them. Oyster is there but no one dare to try. We took the 30 minutes train to the Mount Lavinia station from Colombo and from the station it was just a 3 minutes walk, you can also take 1000r of uber to get to/from the city. Overall 5 stars, it's a nice place to visit, but just don't fancy any expectation with the Western food!

We had our lunch and a belated birthday party for parents here yesterday and it was great. The staff were very good and arranged the cakes, balloons etc. With regards to the lunch, it was a buffet with Sri Lankan, Indian and Chinese food on offer. I loved the Sri Lankan spicy pork curry which I craved for a few years now as we can't find that back in London. The buffet is very reasonably priced with plenty of spaces for families and the food was excellent taking the learnings from Chef Pubilis of course. Overall a very good experience and I give it a 5 star.

Diversity of food was limited but food was good and clean. The ancient lift was out of service and faced a bit of challenge as one of our members were in a wheel chair. It's great if the lighting of the beach area could be improved further. However good place for a family dinner and was reasonably priced.

The food, service and atmosphere was phenomenal. Apart from one host who was trying to push me and my date on to the porch, which yes, had a gorgeous view but since the past few months has been scorching hot and the evenings are warm and humid, we wanted to sit inside where it is air-conditioned but this man lied to us that the hall was packed and we had no other option. Our reservation was made days prior to our visit so there's no way we couldn't sit inside. Another host almost immediately intervened and lead us to our reserved table. I couldn't get the name of the liar, he is short and stout. If MLH wishes to keep it's prestigious name then they better fire this vicious liar asap.

Had a huge problem tonight, ordered 2 drinks, got charged double the price for one and triple for the other + given to pay for the one I haven't ordered at all. Then I've been told there's a mistake in the menu but this haven't been addressed earlier and in order to make it all clear had to spend 30min on explaining that it's their fault. Barman was emotionally manipulating me to pay for at least half of that extra drink saying otherwise the waiter will have to pay for it. The service was terrible that night. Honestly, you shouldn't treat your guests this way, unacceptable.
