We came here to check out some clothes and surprised to find a garden cafe. The garden cafe is beautiful and very peaceful. Didnโ€™t get a chance to diner here but we will in the near future. The clothes (male, female and kids) here are amazing, though the selection was limited, after the April holidays. The cottons are very fine and the colours are beautiful. There are other items you can purchase; home decor, greeting cards, and a selection of books.

The cutest spot for breakfast, brunch or lunch in a beautiful and peaceful courtyard. Food portions were super generous and very reasonably priced. It would be good to have none dairy options for milks but apart from that we absolutely loved it. A beautiful settting full of interesting corners and art works, lots of plants. The service was friendly and perfect. There is also the most amazing shop attached to the cafe with all sorts of locally made arts and crafts, from jewellery and scarves to books by local authors, pottery, toys and lots of other things. A perfect place to buy gifts. We loved it .

Unique outdoor cafรฉ located in Colombo. Crowded on most days, but still peaceful, and good ambience. Very good food and drinks with a good selection. Some items are unavailabl, but the staff is very knowledge about the menu, and also offer to make with alternative ingredients. Barefoot shop is just inside, with many unique Sri Lanka crafts and handloom items. Definitely a must-visit shop. There is also an art gallery next to the cafe, which is free of charge for entry.

Excellent Food | Exceptionally Beautiful Location | Decent Staff | Highly Recommended โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€” Detailed Review Below โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€” Barefoot Gardens Cafe is part of a delightful venue comprising of a restaurant, an art gallery, an art shop (selling crafts, clothes, books, postcards, etc) and a courtyard that is converted into an open air venue for a jazz performance every Sunday. All in all, a beautiful inviting place to nourish yourself, your senses, and your soul. We went on a Sunday and really enjoyed the vibe with the jazz performance. The clientele was a mix of foreigners and well-heeled locals. The food is excellent. We tried a number of everything, including the + Chili Thai Prawns With Coriander and Green Onions - 9/10 + Fried Modha Fish with Mashed Potatoes and Vegetables - 6/10 The food was generally flavorful and the portion sizes were appropriate. We topped off the meal with the bread butter pudding (a throwback to the British colonial legacy) which was washed down with the teas. + Bread Butter Pudding - 9/10 + Rosehips, Rose, and Jasmine Tea - 8/10 + Kade Tea - 7/10 Verdict: Highly Recommended. Food/ Quality - 5/5 Location/ Ambiance - 5/5 Price (Value for Money) - 5/5 Service - 4/5

The coolest place to chill and enjoy a meal or a drink in Colombo. Brilliant Al fresco atmosphere surrounded by a eclectic collection of the Sansoni memorabilia. For added pizazz the courtyard has live music on Sundays and a art gallery where one can browse curated art from contemporary artists.

Barefoot Garden Cafe in Colombo is a serene oasis tucked away from the city's hustle and bustle. This charming cafe offers a delightful escape with its lush green surroundings and peaceful ambiance. The outdoor seating area, adorned with vibrant flowers and shaded by tall trees, creates a tranquil setting for a relaxed dining experience. The menu at Barefoot Garden Cafe features a variety of delectable dishes, including vegetarian and vegan options. From freshly brewed coffee to flavorful salads and mouthwatering desserts, there is something to satisfy every palate. The food is prepared with care and uses locally sourced ingredients, ensuring a delightful culinary experience. The cafe is attached to the shop, and it's a great place for lunch. The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable. Their grilled modha dish or the grilled chicken salad are my usual choices. I have also had their black pork curry, which is also delicious. The menu is a bit boring (they don't change it up often) but it's consistently good. The staff is also friendly and pretty attentive for Sri Lankan standard.

Let me say from the outset the ambience at Barefoot is fantastic... it's a place to get away from it all, it's almost like being on holiday. If you want air conditioning this may not be the place for you as the Cafe is out doors however there are ceiling fans and shade from trees. If I could change one thing it would be to use different coffee beans.. I'm not a fan of most SL coffees as they have a bitter after taste.. saying that there are some cafe's that serve 100% Arabica bean coffee, which don't leave an after taste. Otherwise.. yes I highly recommend Barefoot Cafe

Lovely courtyard cafe plus nice shop and art gallery. Great food, music, and service! The tea, onion bajis, and Sri Lankan breakfast were great. I bought a book here "The Sri Lanka Box" by Chiara Mandulee Mendis. I recommend this book to tourists - short stories where you can learn about Sri Lankan culture.

Tranquil Oasis in the Heart of the City Nestled in the bustling city, Barefoot Garden Cafe is a tranquil oasis that lets you escape the stress. The backyard offers a serene nature retreat, complemented by delightful breakfast assortments. The connected crafting shop and museum add an extra layer to the experience. Our time here was nothing short of amazing. From the friendly staff to the inviting nature atmosphere, it's a must-visit for anyone seeking a coffee, breakfast, or brunch spot. Barefoot Garden Cafe provides a perfect blend of relaxation and charm. Highly recommended for a memorable city escape. My favorite was the fresh mango juice and the iced americano! 10/10 experience

Good food and ambiance. Even though the seating is outside, there's plenty of shade. Good service. The prices on the menu are with tax added already. If your order is big enough (or maybe if it takes time? I dunno how they judge it) you sometimes get a basket of warm bread. We didn't get it this time. The peanut butter and chocolate milkshake is really good, with peanut pieces. It's fairly large. The sandwiches come with a salad (no fries). The homemade cheese bread is yum and soft. I had the roasted veggies sandwich and I love it. I've had it before, years ago, and the taste is still the same. A friend had the roasted chicken, which was good as well. They have lunch specials written on a blackboard, which change every day. Some items can be pricy.

Great service and the quality of the food was epic. We ordered the grilled lamb with mint mayo in a wrap and it was crazy delicious. The Sri Lankan brekkie was good value for money as it came with a pot of tea for 2 but i was not amazed by it. Do come early, i did not experience much waiting time as i arrived at 11 am but as i left at around noon, it started getting busy.

One of my favorite restaurants in Sri Lanka. The food there is always delicious. I get the curry and rice everytime. It changes daily so you can try new flavors and curries (the green beans are always my favorite!!). Plus, when they see you have finished one of the curries or the rice, they happily bring you more free of charge. And the atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing, complete with live jazz on the weekends. Highly recommend!!

Stopped by for a cup of Americano. As in other stores quite limited parking however i was surprised by the number of seating inside. Comfortable sofas and chairs available. Perfect for a chit chat and may be to do some office work. They also have a couple of areas with a bit of privacy. Outside seating available. I guess thatโ€™s the smoking area.

This Java Lounge located right next to the Nawala main road. Parking spaces are not enough. But enough confortable seating inside. Usually not crowded. Great place to have business meetings. Food is bit expensive, but you pay for the total package. Outside seating available for somkers. Staff is not friendly. Some a rude. Not acceptable from a place like this. Recommended not for food but for the comfortable seating and ambient atmosphere. Any day I prefer Coffee Bean over Java Lounge.

Great place to chill. I truely regret not visiting this restaurant earlier . Because its a great place. Has a lovely out door ambience with soft music . Suitable for any type of crowd . The food was great . We ordered lamb , pork, prawns ,tuna , starters and desserts . Everything thing taste great . The black pork curry was delicious and rarely found in Colombo restaurants. The Wine Mojito wa another unique cocktail i had . Taste great . The menu has a great variety and affordable . There is value for money. Staff service was very good too. Located in a very convenient location in Colombo with ample parking . Very convenient from public transport too.

Lovely garden like place. The food from the lunch menu is very good, maybe a little spicier than regular. Liked the ginger beer. They have draft beer but there is no much difference compared to the bottled one. The choice of bottled beer is better than in other places. Also try the brownies, they are one of the best

I got there a bit early as I heard about the rush during lunch the previous day. Most of the tables in the shade were reserved and we moved around three times before one waiter suggested we take a reserved table as the reservation was two hours away. We started ordering from the breakfast menu but when we inquired about the lunch menu we found out it would be available in about half an hour 12:30. We felt very stressed out by then. Fortunately the food came on time and was superb, very tasty. The shady spot near the bar had fans so was nice and cool but other areas were warm and the sun fell on those tables. Ambience otherwise was very nice; calm. There was live music. It was very crowded so reservations might be recommended. Service was not 100% but they were ok. Thank you

Large open air seating restaurant with shaded areas. The food is ok. I enjoyed the pork blackened curry and have had other dishes that I didn't like as much. There is also a large shop with handcrafted goods. They sell everything from books to home goods to clothes & accessories.

Barefoot is a must to visit in Colombo. It offers wonderful handmade eco-products from Sri Lankan handworkers and factories. In the cosy bookshop visitors can find literature about Sri Lanka and from Sri Lankan authors, especially also photo-editions on cultural topics, architecture, fashion etc. In the garden-cafe guests can relax, use the free wifi and order beverages and snacks from an internationally influenced menue. Last not least is the Barefoot art gallery one of the most important in Colombo concerning modern art in the country. One star less, because the prices tend to be a bit over the limit.

The coffee shop has soft lighting and it has a pleasant, soothing ambience which I love the most. There are ample places to select a conformable spot to sit. I have been to this place a couple of times and my experience is that, it is not a crowded place, therefore You can have a decedent meeting with your friends. In my opining, staff need to go through a good training on customer care and etc but it does not mean, it is very bad but ok. Food is ok but my son did not enjoy the Lava cake that he ordered. Cappuccino was good and had a lot of cream than coffee. It seems that it is a good business Strategy: less coffee more cream :-). But I enjoyed the coffee. Not much parking space but you can park your car on the road as there is enough room on the road to do so.

This place was recommended to me twice before I arrived in Sri Lanka so I had to check it out. I went on a Sunday when they opened before the jazz began. Iโ€™d suggest getting there before noon or there is a chance that youโ€™ll be waiting for a table. The staff are great and very kind and the food was delicious. I had the pork sandwich which was nice and spicy and the carrot cake which was nice and moist. I browsed the shop after eating and saw so many unique items that I could purchase for friends. Iโ€™ll definitely return there when my stay in SL ends in a few months.

Friendly customer service, gives a zen vibe around the cafe. Had a nice friendly chat too. I'd recommend this place for someone who works alone and wants to get their work done effectively. Food and drinks yumyumyum. Couldn't ask better place to relax your mind

Great vibes Great food and Great ambiance! As soon as we were greeted and seated, we were served a glass of water ( not many cafes still do this ). It was a Sunday afternoon and they had a great Jazz band performing, which sets a nice vibe and atmosphere. The food was great with value for money and portion size, staff was attentive and service was good.

One of Colombo's popular chill out locations in the city. The food has been consistently good and so has the service. On a weekend, its very crowded, with both locals and foreigners alike. Its pricey, but also you pay for the whole package, so you can't really complain.

nice space, good vibes and very good service. Unfortunately their wifi doesn't really work well/slow so I don't recommend it much for working + not many plugs. Tasty food and OK prices.

Visited the cafe after an absence of almost 10 years. Enjoyed the same ambiance of the venue which is typically rustic & bohemian. Served an excellent black pepper pork with saffron lemon grass rice accompanied with a green salad and lentils. Was repleat to say the least. The lime drink with lemon grass was an experience by itself and recommend it as a great thirst quencher. Will be visiting this cafe more often in my future visits to Colombo. Ram was an absolutely attentive front line staff with a mischievous demeanour, and a refreshing personality.

Service was so bad and very slow. And i waited 30 minutes for just a Pesto Sandwich, which was not bad. and then i waited more 20 linutes for the bill.. The price for meals are more expensive then other places here in Colombo around 1500-2200 rupees. at the end : The location is quite nice, food is okay but nothing special and but expenive, waiters are very slow..

๐Ÿ˜ I had high hopes on this place while everyday I pass this place to and from work. Today I happened to attend something in the morning without having breakfast. On my way back home I hopped in here for late ( very late) breakfast. Place is so charming. Neat and lovely. But the staff is not warm and f...

๐Ÿ‘ A very aesthetically pleasing interior. With a great shisha lounge in the back garden area.
