The church is very beautiful and has ample parking space. It is very quiet and calming inside. The father and the brother we met were kind, friendly and supportive. PS: Please note that the entrance is from the Lauries Rd. Google maps directed me somewhere else.

One of the most famous churches especially for weddings. It has very good parking space and the interior is beautiful. It has an old colonial vibe to it. There are daily masses in the morning and evenings. Please check from the church on mass timings. It's a wonderful church for a wedding but tends to a busy booking schedule so better to book early. The parish priest is extremely helpful and friendly.

One of the many historic churches in this country. St. Mary's has a collection of, if I'm not mistaken, the oldest stain glass windows which contain the saints of the Roman Catholic church. Church is opened for daily masses in the mornings and evenings and for 4 Sunday masses as well. It is kept opened all day and is frequently visited by the faithful. This church is also famous for its amazing acoustics and has been picked by many choirs and choral groups for their musical performances.

This is one of the very picturesque churches in Colombo. The stained glasses are beautiful and I believe they date back for many many years. Calm and serene place for a quiet prayer. Church is usually open throughout the day. Parking in general is available for about 50 vehicles or so. Very popular for wedding masses as well.

A beautiful and serene place of worship. The celebrant raised spiritual growth of us. The serenade of the choir brought meaning to the hymns. The lighting enhanced the decor and decorations at the altar and church.

Getting to the church is a bit tricky because of the road constructions going on at the high level road end but it's not that much of an issue. The church is beautiful both outside and inside. There's ample parking on three sides of the church and the garden is large and spacious even though it looks a bit empty. The interior immediately makes you hush and stare in awe. The holiness is evident right as you step in. The chairs and footrests (pardon my jargon as I'm a Buddhist) are probably made out of mahogany and with beautiful curves and carvings. It's silence and respect, that's all you will hear, except when the reverend parish priest steps up to the altar for daily mass. The parish priest is a humble Father and just speaking with him makes you calm and blessed. If you need to confess there's no one better to handle your worries and troubles. The church staff is also very friendly and helpful, right up to the gardener who tries his best to battle with the sun and heat and give his plants a much needed drink of water. Everything's calm and flows with time here and you find yourself stop, think and discover that there is peace outside our very busy world.

Beautiful Church with such serene ambience and tranquility. I am a regular mass attendee. Most churches lack the tranquility St.Marys has and I always feel, it is may be due to those who have initiated in the church foundation, may be the donors or those who maintains. The Priests who are appointed there are often heavy talkers and Cardinals favourites and sermons are really long and unproductive, not at all contributing to life. According to Priest's connections with the Hierarchy invitations to other Priests are extended and it is always a sad state of affairs because those who comes there too like the Parish Priest thinks all in the congregation are sleepy and obligatory Catholics. Fr. Trevor has done a splendid landscaping around and added so much enhancement to the place and a big thank you for that. St.Marys Choral group sings in magesty and fame indeed well suited for an Opera but not for the Church, as it projects ego and pride not humility. But the evening mass Choir managed by the gathering of volunteers are far more dignified even off tune at times, humble except for the harsh and interfering voice of a well dominating lady parishioner there. I have written with no hatred but with facts for improvement and to create an awareness that faith in practice is not an obligation but a sense of peace and wellness experience by collective hearts and minds of humble souls and not arrogant and proud. While appreciating each Priest and Nun for their life given in service to fellow humans, let us make a places of worship to be more of a places of welcome than a places of judgement or hypocrisy where suffering and battered humans with their life struggles comes to find peace and not to get their ears filled with political or harsh indifferences of ethics. 🙏🙏🙏

Roman Catholic church. Although situated in a highly populated area in Colombo 4, the sense of spiritual tranquility you experienc once you are in the premises is hard to explain. The Rev. priest and the staff are very kind and helpful too.

The Church I have been associated with since childhood. In fact my wife and I got married in the same Church when Rev. Fr. Srian Ranasinghe was the Parish Priest. It's a unique Church and supposedly the only Church with every window being stained glass depicting pictures of Saints and Jesus and other characters from the bible. In fact this year I took my children to visit the Church. A good place to visit.

One of the most beautiful of Catholic churches in Colombo, where every glass is stained glass. There is a new fountain (December 2021) with a statue of St. Mary in front. There is plenty of parking. The Easter Triduum and Christmas Services are often well sung and well attended.

One of the Oldest Catholic Churches in Colombo. High ceilings and beautiful architecture. Serene and peaceful. Stain glass windows which radiate the sanctity of the early saints and an astounding giant centrepiece in stain reflecting the Blessed Mother. Great location to spend sometime in quiet reflection and prayer.
