Been there 1 night. Room was very dirty. Carpets and bathroom was full of dirt. Find out that my bedsheets was not changed after previous person slept in bed. Was full of hair, dirt and blood 😱 Very slow internet I eat my dinner and breakfast only in that hotel and on my flight I was feeling vomit, throw up many times and sit most of the flight in toilet with diarrhea. Came back home it's been 24 hrs after I eat anything. Still couldn't eat anything and still have diarrhea. The level of hygiene in this hotel is below any expectations. It was 16-17 July 2023.

i will give 5star rating for this hotel. Amazing room with high end quality service. The first impression started at reception with fast check in. The room space amazing. i feel home. Indeed, the hotel is one of the reason i have extended my stay. Simple and tasty breakfast, clean room and friendly staff. The most important its value for money (really worth to stay- August). I wish more people come forward to support underrated hotel like this to grow further. Sometimes, we think only 5 star hotel can give high quality stay but this hotel proven they can do the same. See you again Ocean Edge.

Fortunately I have already left this “ so called hotel “. It’s my the worst experience I ever had. Cleanliness of room, food and overall hotel condition I can judge for 0 ( zero exactly). This’s rather dive than hotel. At least personnel was friendly. Shortly saying , never again.

This is the worst sea facing hotel. View is amazing rest everything is pathetic Hygiene, staff, hospitality. They don’t even have a dental kit. The WiFi is just for the name It doesn’t work The staff of the entire hotel was having lunch together. Yes entire staff during the day That means no one at the reception, not even at the main gate. Please save yourself from this agony and fine some other property.

This place is a hidden gem. We (A couple) recently stayed at Ocean Edge Hotel and had a fantastic experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and provided excellent customer service throughout our stay. The suite was spotlessly clean, and the bathroom was impeccably maintained. The hotel's amenities were top-notch, enhancing our overall comfort. The breathtaking views from the property were truly phenomenal. Moreover, I found the hotel to be great value for money, considering the high level of service and the quality of the accommodations. I highly recommend Ocean Edge Hotel for a memorable and enjoyable stay.

Indeed ADBHUTabulous! Everything was just awesome. Very good place to stay for a long with family. Room is filled with all necessary goods. You don't need to look out for anything. The location is just beside the beach which adds to the beauty. It's a must place to stay if you are in Colombo. The best feature of this hotel is their staffs. They are very well trained and well-behaved. I personally liked their Gym/Pool instructors.

Lovely hotel in colombo. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff is very cooperative. Food is well prepared. Services are up to the mark. One can see the ocean from the room windows. One may like to come again

The checking in was great but the bathrooms were not wellmainatained. There were stains and the walls had fungi. In the morning when we asked for milk or creamer for tea they said they don’t have and didn’t provide either. Breakfast came at 8:30 because their kitchen opens at 8am. The food wasn’t too bad but the juice tasted like water and even then we didn’t get fresh tea or coffee and didn’t get creamer or milk either. They certainly can do a better job with the service they provide.

0 STARS! Horrible experience. It was my last night in Sri Lanka and it was the worst night out of all the nights for sure. The whole room was very dirty. The furniture, floors, and surfaces were sticky and had ants crawling everywhere. There were ants on the bed too!!! The walls were dirty and peeling. The washrooms were very dirty too. The gutters were open. There was a lizard in the bathroom and the staff came over with a screwdriver thinking it was a power problem??? I had the staff search for the lizard but they never found it. While they were using the flashlight, I SAW a huge dead cockroach which the staff ignored. I demanded to change rooms but when I checked the second room, there were live cockroaches there. The third room I got had insects crawling on the walls! ALL the sheets were dirty and stained. The blankets, bed sheets and linens had red spots EVERYWHERE! It was horrifying and unbelievable. I don't know if they were blood stains but it looked like it. The sheets were full of those stains. I saw bed bugs around the room too!! Unacceptable. It was so so pathetic and disturbing, it was the middle of the night and I had no choice. I demanded to speak to the manager but no one showed up all night. The wifi was terrible and had a limit on devices. The food was not good either, the options were very limited. The lifts were dirty and one of the buttons was not working. The only good thing was the location. The staff did listen to me but there was no action taken at all. I am confused about how this hotel is a "4 star hotel". No matter what their explanations were, none of this can happen. There cannot be any explanations or justifications to run a hotel this way. This hotel should NOT be open to people AT ALL. The hotel didn't even give me a refund!!!!! That should be the bare minimum for them to do!!! So so pathetic. Worst experience EVER!!

Very good....nice location .best hospitality

Unfortunately the experience was not good. The rooms where in very bad condition and the hygiene was not kept at good levels. We decided to leave and change our place of stay due to lots of imsects in the room. We requested to change room due to the imsects and the only thing done was to come and spray with incecticide having us smelling the bad smell of the incecticide.

We stayed 2 days night. Reservation made by phone call. At that time they agreed to sea view room. However when we checked in it was not a sea view room. Asked them to change for a sea view room. But they said all sea view rooms were reserved. 16,500/= for BB for couple. Breakfast was buffet. String hoppers, pol sambol, Potatoe curry, Dhal curry, bread, sousages, butter, jam, Eggs, Atta Rotee, Powder juice & Tea available for breakfast buffet. Meals was tasty. Rooms were looking old. For that amount we could find a best place than this

You can get to this location from Galle Road as well as marine drive. If through Galle road, one will have to take the 9th lane and proceed towards the 10th lane (yes, a bit tricky) and take the left turn. Usually, Google Maps will ask you to turn right, and then you're in no man's land. It will just not indicate anything. 🙄. 10th lane is accessible from Marine Drive and not directly through Galle road. The hotel from outside looks fine but requires some elevation in the interior. Suits are okay and look almost like the ones that's around marine drive. So nothing fancy. In the nights, it's a bit too deserted, so I reckon one should take precautions, especially when taking a stroll through the road adjacent to the hotel.

Rooms are wide open, See Views are mind blowing from room but Toilet space is very congested compared to room.

It's a good hotel . Hope the management will take care of elevators soon. I'm stuck here in hotel in global pandemic outbreak COVID 19 so I feel unlucky to be quorantined. I thought of going to beach but an army man is watching us stay inside with guns. I can only dream of going to beach now. Mumbai marine drive is a waste when compared to the marine drive besides this hotel. Other than that it's a lovely hotel for medium range money.

Best hotel, i ever visited near to the ocean with clean rooms. Swimming pool is quite nice but small and small fitness centre. But hard to find the hotel entrance for the first time. Far from the market. The staff was nice and friendly. The best part the rooms are so huge and spacious. The utensils in the kitchen are also neat and clean. Recommend hotel if u ever visit colombo

Hi, Generally post my reviews with mostly positive as I am true to express my honest opinion. We were allocated room in 7th floor. As I entered there was foul smell in the room, bed room carpet hasn't been washed for years. When you travel for the entire day you expect basic hygiene to be in usable condition. Comod is with completely with stains and bathing enclosure rusted doors. When we called reception - lady informed us rooms are full please get it cleaned with housekeeping if you feel disgusted. After travelling for 6 hours from Nuwara Eliya to Colombo - this is pathetic experience to face. No worth for our money.

Except for the location, it was the most terrible stay for us in Srilanka. The property is so badly managed buy the staff. The billing was totally confusing from the female receptionist ( Ms Pratibha) since we went in three groups and she totally mixed our bills and that lead so to much confusion between us. Regarding rooms. So badly planned, the light switch was somewhere in the other room rather than beside bed! WiFi was soo freaking slow! The so called suite rooms which was the highest charge had terrible bathrooms, not cleaned properly, bed sheets has stains. For the amount this place charges we can get so much better and cleaner option! Please don’t go by the photos these people post! It’s not at all worth it!!!

Hello fellow travellers please don't opt this accommodation at any cost. Your trip will be completely ruined. Initially they allotted a room which had insects, broken walls and uncleaned toilets and stained bedsheets. Then when I complained they said will send across housekeeping who never ever bothered to come. Around 9pm on request they said 1 room is empty now as expected guest hasn't turned up in the same floor. To our dismay this was no good either but only advantage was restroom was not in bedroom. I am attaching the photos. Breakfast was good and the staff at restaurant needs special mention they were helpful and smiling only saving thing in this frailing property. 2 men at reception was really good and willing to help but looked like they were helpless and knew of the situation. Location is the only thing that will push you to stay for a day beyond that it is not possible. There are many accomodation available nearby so I suggest to choose wisely.

The rooms are ok but at an overall level, needs a lot of upkeep. Infact due to its proximity to the Indian ocean shore, the property should undergo regular maintenance.

This hotel has studio apartments. Location is superb. Rooms spacious. Infra is quality but old and presently struggling to maintain itself. The new Management and the staff are courteous and willing to serve. Tanveer, the Chef, is excellent. Our best experience of Indian food in SriLanka. Prakash is smiling and so very willing to make guests comfortable.

Our travel agent booked a triple room. But we received a double room. They said that an extra bed will be added. However, the room is extremely small for an extra bed. We didn't receive any towels. When we asked, the house keeping person rudely replied saying that the laundry will be done at 6pm and towels cannot be provided before that. We complained at the reception and got the supplies. The room had wooden flooring and it was dirty. Definitely not vacuumed properly. Basic hygiene was lacking. Bathroom was way too small. You cannot sit on the toilet seat comfortably. The flush is located exactly behind the seat and extremely tight. It is very difficult to flush the toilet. You have to use both the hands to push the flush button. Bathroom is made of black stones or black paint. The light was not sufficient at all. Shower was very slow and week. Basic vegetarian dinner for 3 people costs 20k LKR which was approximately 4times the normal price. I negotiated with the help of my travel agent and adjusted the bill to a much lesser price and cleared the dues. Location is good. This has good ocean view from the balcony. It is located around 1hr from Colombo international airport. So, airport commute is convenient.

This was our first stay in Colombo we reached hotel and the rooms were good clean and well maintained. We stayed for a night and it was good. We don’t use any amenities like the pool or gym so no comments on it The food was good we had dinner and breakfast. The staff were very friendly

The location is great; that was the reason why I chose this for my family trip. However, they have a lot to improve in terms of general management, cleanliness, and facility maintenance. At the current state, I would not return here.

Hotel is close to the beach area. The building is relatively old and looks old as it’s not well maintained. Rooms were big. Carpets and bathroom was full of dirt. balcony also dirty. Wi-Fi very slow.

Bad experience... Staff was not supportive in the beginning, internet is slowest possible, TV is bad, rooms are dirty... I have missed Euro2020 final (no TV channel, no good internet). But later tried to do their best and some issues were solved

Doorman doesnt exist. Someone offered to take my bag but dropped it anyways. Entire hotel was dirty. Room clearly didnt have a sweep or mop done in the passed week at least. Cigarette butts in non smoking room. COCKROACHES dead in the room. Restaurant is gross. Phone in room did not work. Workers said that the other rooms would be just as dirty so no change was needed. When the worker came to clean the cockroach they simply said I was not supposed to look into that part of the room. Bathroom was gross. Sheets had blood stains. Worst stay at a hotel in my life.

Once again i have selected same hotel for my short stay due to flight reschedule With the few improvement from my previous visit this place look even better. Ask for higher floor you can get better view those who book partial seaview.

The rooms are spacious and the location is perfect. During my stay AC was inconsistent. Washrooms are unhygienic and need to be maintained. Food had very limited options

Recently stayed a night here and was mind blown with the room & food. The lowest & affordably priced room (with complimentary breakfast) is a studio suite with a hall, kitchenette, small dining, bedroom & a balcony overseeing the Indian Ocean.. Food was extra ordinary with the chef curating foods to the liking of diners. The GM Roshanth Selvaraj was very courteous and caring. Overall, a great experience.

Don’t even think about going to this hotel. Supped smell comes from the bathroom and the bed room. And the front office lady was not professional at all. Room and the bathroom were no cleaned at all.

I had a very comfortable stay. Food order s came quickly. Service reasonable clean and all I needed were there. Breakfast was enjoyable. Variety and plenty. Service is good. 👍

It was my first visit, but surely not the last. I came late at night and was surprised with the warm hospitality, received a very spacious clean suite, and had all the basic requirements needed for my stay, the large suite with a view of the ocean was just fine to start my next day of work. Appreciate the extra effort by the service staff to get me my suit pressed and returned within a short period for my meetings.

Great stay and spacious rooms. Nice restaurant and we'll cooked. Cleanliness of hotel, restaurant, wash rooms is great, ample ventilation , doors and windows for every room. Delicious Indian food available , possible vegetarian options can be more with more priority for South Indian veg options. Great travel desk and friendly staff

Good location , Big rooms nice comfy bed but rooms are not maintained nicely unsure if the property is old enough. Average quarantine food. AC is okay. The important thing I liked it ,it has a microwave a induction which I never saw till now in any . Service though I experienced is average but due to the pandemic I guess everyone is too careful. Good experience in all.

The building is relatively old and looks old as it’s not well maintained. Shower is small, Wifi slow and TV image quality bad in most channels. Also the quality of its construction could have been better. Seaview is blocked by another building. Breakfast buffet is poor, compared to all other hotels we stayed in on the island. Everything looks like the hotel is going through financial difficulties (only 1 elevator in operation (the other one has no cabin), AC is working in only selected areas, just a half roll of paper in the toilet etc.). This shouldn’t be a more than 3-star hotel.

Over-all good experience. Hotel is close to the beach area. Rooms were big and well maintained. We stayed in deluxe suite room. Quite spacious. Good location not very far from city. U can reach to City destination quickly.

The hotel is located near the beach and railway track. Marina Mall is within walking distance. The room was good and clean with every cutlery item for cooking. The only drawback is that the bathroom is very small. We have ordered fresh cut fruit it's not even enough for children but the price is huge and very disappointed.
