Nice place to stay in for a short time with friendly service. The wifi was quite problematic and as the windows in the bathroom were unable to close fully, it had some ants. But if you're staying only for a few days (2 nights in my case) it is absolutely ok.

Me and my husband started our time in Colombo in this wonderful place. We were taken so good care of by the owner, Masa, and by the wonderful staff at the place. They all were so generous and helpful. I really miss them. The building is totally new renowated, in the most beautiful way. The rooms are so nicely made, and clean. It was the best breakfast, lots of fruit, yoghurt, eggs as you like them, juice, tea and coffee. I will deffenitly recommend this place.

I stayed at the Sayura House for several nights and highly recommend this quaint boutique hotel. It offered above and beyond all of the facilities and amenities that I required for a very satisfying stay after a long tiring flight from the USA. I enjoyed the charm of the hotel and the way the beautiful garden and nature was incorporated into the hotel’s lobby. The guest rooms are well appointed and the beds and pillows are of high quality providing me and my family with a good’s night sleep every night. The staff was very helpful and courteous. And Poke 65, the in house restaurant, is so delicious. We felt very fortunate to find this jewel of a hotel in Colombo.

Sayura House was our headquarters while visiting Colombo. Upon our arrival, it was really nice to be greeted with a cold damp towel and a welcome beverage. The hotel is very well maintained and the rooms are very tastefully decorated. The landscape is well manicured and looks amazing at night with the outdoor lighting. The pond is a nice touch too and helped entertain the kids. They were finalizing the rooftop balcony but we were able to get a sneak peek at the amazing view of the ocean. We can’t wait to return so that we can see the final outcome. The general manager as well as all of the staff took really good care of us and always checked in to make sure that we were doing well. The food was amazing and the breakfast portion is generous. We opted for the fruit platter and Sri Lankan omelette most mornings, so good! As for dinners, we ordered our meals from Poke 65 which shares the dining area with Sayura House. The rooms are good size and have AC. In the evenings, we enjoyed some great Sayura signature cocktails, ping pong games and good family time card games. The hotel is well situated to all of the major landmarks and attractions within Colombo. I would highly recommend Sayura House!

Great attention by the host, very kind and gave us some tips. Whole hotel is very nicely decorated, it’s quiet and far enough from the bustle of the city. Rooms are tasteful and have everything you need, would definitely return. Only con is the distance, but a 600-800 tuktuk takes you to the city center.

We got a very warm welcome from the amazing staff of Sayura House on our first day in Sri Lanka. Great location, isolated from the noise of the nearby busy streets. The place is beautiful with trees, birds and squirrels. Everything is very clean. They are also very enviroment friendly, there are no plastic in the hotel at all. Also recommending their restaurant. Poke65 has delicious foods. Thank you for having us!

This is a truly wonderful place where I hope to stay in my future visits. Staff should receive an A+ for their attentive and extremely courteous service/interactions with all clients. I have witnessed it myself during my long stay here. Breakfast is healthy and sumptuous and is delivered on a timely manner without compromising the high quality. I hope many potential visitors to Colombo will consider this place as their first choice. My overall rating is 5++. In particular, I would like to acknowledge the attention and support we received from Mr. Gamini Seneviratne, the General Manager, who is available 24/7 for any help. His response times is about the fastest in the industry (in Colombo) that I know of.

The ambience of the hotel is nothing short of magical. Every corner exudes good energy and relaxation. Gamini is truly a gem. His warm hospitality and energy made the trip worth remembering. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine care and enthusiasm. Gamini’s personal touch is evident in every aspect of the hotel, from the tastefully decorated rooms to the delectable cuisine served at the restaurant. His dedication to ensuring that every guest has a memorable stay is truly commendable. I couldn't have asked for a more welcoming and gracious host. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

Excellent location near city center. Easy access to anything in Colombo. Has its own travel agency and can easily accommodate your holiday excursions. I totally recommend it as it also has a beautiful garden with a natural environment.

We unfortunatelly just stayed for one night before our flight back home. This place is definitely worth spending some days. Gamini and his team, they are such nice hosts. He definitly loves his job and it is a pleasure talking to him. The room was super clean and everything at this place is lovingly decorated. This place is also famous for its food. We enjoyed dinner having delicious spring rolls, salads and bowls. To me this place is a 11 out of 10 and i would definitely come back for a stay

Sayura House is a cute little boutique hotel away from the busy city. I was looking for peace and quiet before I started my journey and the hotel provided this for me. The view of the ocean from the top floor is beautiful and calming. Gamini and his staff are very attentive and go above and beyond to provide top notch service. I will continue to staying here whenever I visit Colombo!

What a cute hotel less than one block from the ocean. I enjoyed using it as as a base camp while spending a week in Colombo before my big tour. It’s close to waterfront restaurants, the main road, shopping, sightseeing, and I really enjoyed eating at the poke/Asian restaurant inside of it called Poke65. I feel like the staff became friends of mine and I look forward to coming back. 👍 PS- It has a walled garden that is landscaped and almost feels like a rainforest complete with a small pond with ornamental fish. It is so cozy!

This has been one of my favorite hotels in Srilanka. The location is perfect because it is close to everything, it is possible to see the sea, the decoration is beautiful and the weather is perfect. All the staff are friendly and what I like most is that the hotel has a restaurant Poke 65 and the food is exquisite.

Found this charming boutique hotel in the heart of Colombo. The peacefulness and greenery of the garden and outdoor patio are perfect to relax after a busy day strolling the streets of Colombo. I particularly enjoyed the mix of wood, nature, local furniture and art that make up the charm of this hotel. Staff is attentive, rooms are clean, and food is simply delicious as it comes straight from their poke 65 restaurant. Love their poke bowls variety! I can’t wait to come back to check out their new roof top.

What a lovely house with a zen vibe. The service is excellent. Location wise, a bit far from the city but it’s in a very good area with nice cafe, and it’s near the sea side which you can go for a walk and stroll around. The manager (Gamini) and the staff were very helpful and welcoming throughout our stay.

Lovely place completely different world from the buzzing streets outside with a lovely garden. Very helpful staff giving nice tips of places in the neighborhood and places to see in Sri Lanka. Nice that they also have a restaurant, although would be great if they extended their vegan options. Thanks for a good stay!

Really accommodating staff, very kind and attentive. Would recommend staying here. They gave really good recommendations for food and the breakfast was good. It’s about 5km from Colombo 1, a short Tuk Tuk ride.

You just need to go ahead and book. They really know what they are doing. 10/10 on hospitality and their accommodation towards guests. if you stay over 1 day, you'll feel as if you are at your home.

I stayed at Sayura House for a month. The location is excellent. It is on a quiet lane right near the beach in Wellawatte. The rooms are clean and inviting with very nice art work. The eating and sitting areas are very pleasant and there is even a fish pond and a very friendly dog. The breakfast of fruit, chicken sausage, and eggs was excellent and it's very easy that you can order coffee, tea, or one of their tasty poke bowls on short notice, even late at night. The hotel manager was exceptionally helpful in helping me find drivers and he even took me to a nearby doctor when I wasn't feeling well. The view of the sea from the roof is stunning. It is a very safe place to stay if you are traveling alone.

Simply an incredible find, we were having our wedding up in Negombo, and needed a few days stay in Colombo. While we had stayed at other hotels in the past we were certainly glad we decided to give this place a go, as the service was impeccable and exactly what we needed. I highly recommend anyone looking to stay in Colombo to come here as they are a lot more pleasant then the substandard service you get from the other hotels.

Spacious and very beautifully decorated rooms. Hot water and air conditioning. Spotless and very quiet area across a Buddhist temple. You can hear the monks pray and sing in the early morning. We had a very pleasant stay.

This review has been long overdue, we were here exactly 1 year ago when Covid19 struck. As it was a sudden outbreak worldwide, my family and I were unable to fly home as all airports and borders were shut. What started off as a week holiday stretched to almost a month. I had chosen to stay at Sayura based on the good reviews, its rates and the strategic location. It's a stone's throw away from the beautiful beach and also the Wellawate town centre. I must emphasise the service rendered during our stay was impeccable. During the tumultuous time, Sayura had become our refuge. They did not hesitate to accommodate us for the unknow duration when most hotels in the city were not accepting foreign guests. We were taken good care off, provided with full board accommodation even when the imposed curfew nationwide had led to limited resources. They were very warm & understanding, checking on us regularly which kept us "sane" during the uncertainty. I cannot begin to express what these small acts of kindness meant to us. These people went way out to ensure we were comfortable. Finally when we were able to fly home we left with a heavy heart but glad to have met good souls!

Very charming boutique hotel with nice decoration and courtyard. The staff is super friendly and even offered us drinks. The rooms are super clean and well equipped. It’s not in the middle of Colombo city, well located nonetheless, close to some interesting places and 30 seconds to the seaside. Good value overall. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely modern rooms set around an impossibly beautiful jungle courtyard. Best accommodation I had in Sri Lanka.
