It was amazing experience to have Sri Lanka as part of my journey, and also this hostel that helps me a lot. The hostel was tidy and nice location, the host was also very helpful. It's recommended for traveler, I met also other traveler and we experience our travel each others. It's more fun in Sri Lanka, its more value in Steps Backpackers.

The staff is very friendly. You can get a very good service for what you pay. It is located about one and a half kilometers from the Maradana railway station. The hostel is very clean even the washroom also. The air conditioning in my room is not working properly. But the owner will fix it in a few days. But overall everything was perfect. Highly recommended for everyone.

Okay homestay for a night or two. Everything was clean and the room was small but enough. The room has a bed, a bedside table, a chair and a fan, though the fan wasnt very effective against the hot weather. The bathrooms are shared with everyone. The breakfast was okay. The owner was very nice and gives you advice on anything and had good english skills.

Really nice hosts and quite a neat place. Easy access to commodities and transport. The host was really nice in arranging taxi to the Airport and giving us tips and directions for in and around the city.

The owner was super friendly and helpful and the hostel was very clean. There wasn’t any hot water which didn’t bother us since it was super warm. However, our room was super hot and we tried having the fan on to cool it down a bit but it was so loud, could barely sleep.

Just night before repatriate flight, I can't find the place to stay coz place i had booked was closed ( but not close in booking) So finally group of pple who stranded here recommend this place. And I had very good night sleep here incredible !!! Simple room + nice vibe + clean - the shade from the tree or something here makes the room very nice energy ! ............... And the owner is very helpful and kind. :)

This is definitely a get what you pay for situation. There arent any frills here, or soap. It is simply a bed with a thin blanket. Not to worry, the ac is set high enough that you will not need a blanket. The ac is controlled by the staff so no adjusting either. Bring your own towel, washcloth and soap, nothing provided, it is simply a bed. The matress.... oh the mattress. More like a pad for me, but it is a mattress, just on the thin side. Again, what do you expect for $5.50. The breakfast is tea and strings with some daal. All in all if you are on a pretty strict budget this would be for you.it is clean, which is a great bonus. But beware the there were some coming in at 11pm flashing lights. As a rule of thumb, the cheaper the price the different opportunities for a different clientele. All in all, definitely worth the cheap price. Just not for me.

Wonderful place with warm welcome. I felt like a home as soon as I arrived .The host incredible and friendly. The hostel is really clean and have a 360° view rooftop.Everything is accessible by walk.If you feel lazy you can always find a tuk tuk just near to the hostel.The cherry on the cake is this wonderful free breakfast. definitely I will come back....
