The hotel is located in Colombo 7 so pretty central and convenient to get around. As a solo traveler, I felt safe. At the opposite of the street is a very good Vietnamese restaurant. I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in early Oct 2022. It was a tough time for tourism in Sri Lanka and I saw the hotel made an effort to maintain the facility and the service well. The staff was friendly, patient and very helpful. Room was decent. Price was reasonable. Highly recommended.

Located in embassy area. Very clean and nice hotel with reasonable price. I paid USD 45 for 1 night with breakfast, they allowed me to check out at 5:00pm. Good place for short trip. pros:- 1. diplomatic location. highly secured 2. very nice clean atmosphere 3. hot water 4. good A/C, fittings, flat tv 5. laptop friendly workspace 6. modern curtain on window. good ventilation 7. supportive stuffs corns:- 1. no toothpaste and toothbrushes 2. no light shoes for wash room even 3. no closet for cloths. 4. not sure about washer facilities

Spacious room and wide bed, slept well after long journey. The staff is friendly. The sheet and towel both have huge yellow stains and red dots, which looks disgusting.

Excellent location.. Comfortable rooms.. Lots of restaurants near by.. Indian.. Vietnamese ..and local foods.. Vegetarians can try Indian spice kitchen just 7 mnts from fern..

Omg best hotel in colombo area. When enter the room u feel very comfortable. Good staff service specially nafeel.

An average place to stay. Basic place for cheap price. Normal comfortable rooms, little bit dirty sheets. Not many facilities. But very close to the city. The receptionist was a little bit rude and awkward, ask whether we are checking out on the same day or staying the night (cough* what???! *Cough).

Couldn’t be happier with Fern to have a nice shower and quality sleep after these warm and sweaty days! The staff is amazing and very quick to help you with whatever you may need. Lastly, but not least, the breakfast is delicious and it will energize you for the remainder of the morning!

The worst service you could find. We asked for breakfast at 7, they made it by 8 telling every 10 minutes that it would be ready in 10 minutes. But the worst thing is the bed sheets: very smelly and dirty. Also the elevator is so load that the room was shaking. Moscquites were everywhere. No one speaks English. Very very baaaaaad experience. HIGHLY don‘t recommend to stay in this hole.

Great staff! Very helpful and they also have a restaurant downstairs that does some killer shawarmas. Very convenient as they delivered to the room and were open till 11. I would stay here again 😊

Staff is very friendly and polite, newer construction and great value for money. Good size bery clean rooms with air conditioning. Located in Central Colombo with easy access to many places of interest. We will stay there again. Highly recommended!!

Nice and sleek hotel! The toilet was well maintained and clean. Shower pressure and heat was great! They have elevator which is a plus! Simple daily breakfast. Nearby there's Tea Avenue which is good for short break. And delicious Vietnam food 1min away. Overall was a good experience.

Great little hotel in a lovely neighborhood. Nice rooms with vaulted ceilings. The shower was the best I've used in South Asia. The bed was comfy and had nice quality linens. Really liked the charming neighborhood with tons of great little international restaurants nearby. Maybe just a touch more expensive than I would have liked but I'd consider staying again.

It's more like a budget hotel with no in house restaurant. Only advantage is it's near to the French Embassy, that too if u have any appointments with!

Fern hotel is the best hotel in Colombo.. price are excellent. I have stayed with my friends for a weekend and honestly I am so happy we found this place.. friendly and professional staff, we felt special from the beginning to the end.. Beautiful place with the loads of trees. Surly can make you feel like you are in heaven . The room was lovely, super clean with most comfortable bed. I have ever slept on !! and OMG love they pillows , bathroom super clean. so happy with our stay that actually was said to leave.. Overall, i had best stay ever in Colombo and definitely Will back there and I will recommend this place to everyone. Thank you for everything.......

Stayed for 1 night. Friendly service! The room was spacious, clean and bed was very comfortable. There’s also a specialty cafe on the ground floor. Location is great to get around. Can walk to some great shops, restaurants and tuk tuk to city is only 10-15mins away at a small cost. Highly recommend!

This hotel is in a lovely area, quiet and not too far from the attractions of Colombo. We stayed here for 2 nights. Nafeel greeted us and he was super helpful. He even assisted us with our bags when we checked out, great asset to the business. The rooms are basic but have everything you need. They rooms were clean and comfort. The reception area is very cute. The coffee shop in the reception area called Island Yaka made super great coffee. Suggestions: on our first morning we were not given a choice of food for breakfast and sadly a lot of the food we were given went to waste. We sorted this for our second morning by ordering the food we liked. Maybe change the comment on the internet which states you are not affected by the power cuts. We totally understand the current situation here in Sri Lanka but when we asked about this feature we were told, yes we have a generator but no diesel to use it. This was not a problem but it was a little bit misleading. Overall a good hotel for backpackers and people on a budget.

The room and bathroom are sparkling clean and big. The hotel is very well located and the staff are polite and ready to help with any questions. They also arranged us an airport pick up which was a plus.

Nice hotel, very well located, with great facilities, helpful service, comfortable bed and clean. I strongly recommend this place, but please make sure you understand well pricing. I was surprised that to the basic amount I was asked to pay in booking almost 30% was added - 10% cleaning fee, 15% tax, 3% city tax... That ultimately changed the price quite heavily.
