The best place for Hygienic and spicy south Indian vegetarian food. The staffs are very friendly and offer pretty good service for the customers. Sri Vaishnavi Vihar is a pleasant and peaceful ambience to have dining get together with your family and friends. I would say the restaurant offers tasty and flavorsome vegetarian food that value your money Sure you will fall in love with their mouthwatering food. Good food and good vibes in this place. This place offers a decent indian food at a affordable cost. The main drawback is the service,we went to 1st floor AC hall,we have been waiting more than 20 mint for the person to come and take our order,there are only 3 person in first floor,they attend customer according to queue basis only. They have to change this,and also the delivery takes so long. If we come for a meal to vihar we should allot 1.5 hrs for it alone. The next day we made a dine at ground floor restaurant which is said as the first origin of hotel,they serve very fast and service is good. The timing gets delayed in AC hall , very pathetic

Value for money. Parking for cars not officially designated. But can find street parking opposite. Good service. Food variety is good. Food delivery was fast. We utilised the upstair AC floor.

The food and environment is great, best value for money, the waiters are generous and helpful. I had rice and curry for lunch and I was given the freedom to eat as much as I want. Another time I had some plain dosa for dinner, it was prepared immediately and served hot.Their prices can be slightly high but really worth it, if you want have a -close to- authentic taste of South Indian cuisine.

Well this is the first time that I tried pure vegetarian Indian food and seems I have to change my opinion about these pure vegetarian cousins. Those were really delicious and mouthwatering. I'll definitely try these food again. When it comes to the place at the time we were visited (lunch time on a Poya day) it was really crowded and some people had to wait before entering. The service was average. The prices are moderate. They took some times to serve the food. There are no dedicated parking slots and it's very difficult to park at the road so if you're visiting beware of it. Recommended to go their by Taxi.

I'm a regular take away customer for this restaurant but today they provided small portion of chutney for 7 dosas, once I highlighted this to staff he provided extra chutney which was cold. The one originally given was warm. Obviously the staff didn't want to provide best service. Hope they attend all customers with utmost care.

I visited kotehena branch today for a dine in, the food was hopeless and the taste of it was very bad. Specifically there was a worm in keerai sambar for that the staffs, supervisor and the management was disobedient they didn't care and the management was irresponsible... It was one of a good place for vegetarian now its the worst place and I had a bad experience. 👎👎👎

Food maybe nice but they have the worst service where the waiters are concerned.I dont know how the system works here since I am from Malaysia.On the 2nd week of October 2022,I and my wife went to this restaurant after heard about it.One waiter ( a bespectacle eldery man) took an order.Told him I want rawa thosai and this was during lunch hour,he told not available during lunch time and I pointed their time serving for thosai is up to 10.30 pm as stated in the menu.He went off but I was told to wait half an hour.Then,another waiter passed by and I called him to ask for plain water but he pretended that he didnt hear me.When another waiter came,I asked again and he scolded another waiter,enquiring who is taking our orders.It came to my mind that only the first waiter should serve us and nobody else.But if we really need to order the next item,in this case milk tea,etc,do we have to wait for the first waiter who took orders to come?What happens if he is not around? The payment system is screwed up.The waiter asked whether you are done and when you say yes,they go to the counter brings you the receipt and wait for you to give the money,they pay on your behalf and brings loose change and give back to you hoping you will give TIPS.That waiter actually stopped me from going to the counter but at this stage I was fuming mad,but I went on to pay at the counter.And the waiter was just standing behind me and I ignored him initially but had a change of heart and gave him tips anyway since they work for money. Give tips only if you feel the waiters deserved it otherwise dont. In Malaysia,the restaurants,majority run by Indians especially from the muslim community will take your orders and place a small plastic "credit card" size and upon completing your meals,take the card to the counter and make the payment.No mandatory tips! Tips are only in fine dining restaurants,again at one's discretion.To Sri Vaishvani Vihar management,please improve your service if you want to stay in food business.Your service really sucks and that will be the last time we patronise your restaurant. If you asked me,Sri Shanmuga's restaurant food is the really excellent and the best!

My very first review with one Star. Nerver saw a terrible restaurant so far.. One of the worst restaurant i ever went. Went there at 8.30 pm and now it is nearly 10 pm and still i am waiting for the food. Very bad customer service. They took nearly 45 minutes to clean the table. And another 30 mins to take order. And food comes after another 30 mins. The food is terrible. We take chili parrota, chese dolphin, masala tea, string hoppers kottu , 3 types of naan, mashroom curry, mango and lime juice. In that only good food is that dolphin cheese kothu. Other than that all the food is terrible. We could not able to eat the chili parrota, it is raw and when we told this to them they said we cant return the food. ( Even that is not edible). The customer service is so so poor even we saw 4 to 5 family feedup with the service and waiting and leave. If you have like hours to spend and ok for eat terrible food then go for this restaurant

I’m a loyal customer for this restaurant for about 5 years. I have never disappointed with any foods or services. This is one of my best vegetarian restaurant in Colombo 14. Prices are very reasonable and potions are adequate. There are two separate restaurants in this building. One is Airconditioned Indian food and little bit expensive than other one. Other one is Normal budget friendly restaurant Non air conditioned and mostly reasonable amount of crowded. Some delicious dishes are only available in upper floor restaurant. I’ll recommend both of this restaurant for everyone. You will never disappointed for sure 😋😋😋😋 #must visit atleast once per week.

Poor service. The staffs were throwing too much attitude. We ordered a cream of mushroom soup and they gave us a soup of anchor milk. Which was too sweet like a milkmaid tea and when we complained about the staffs were like “this is how the cream of mushroom would be.” Complete disappointment.

Vegetarian hotel with good food for reasonable prices. They do have more food options in the upper floor like Hyderabad biryani, Schezwan fried rice, paneer 65 and many more. They also have a wedding hall on the top floor.

Went for a dine in. The place was clean and well maintained. Ordered a normal biriyani and the food was amazing. But, the service needs to be improved. Not that it was bad but they were definitely ignorant towards the customers. Also the time they took to bring the food was very long.

Bought chilli parota from this hotel....gave it to my little kid, I was surprised when I found a piece of plastic in the food. When my kid took spoon full of the parato and took this hard plastic from her mouth....I was shocked by this and the hotels negligence... usually families in kotahena area buy foods for their children...why these hotels are soo careless...if they cooked the plastic with the food, the heat might have melted the plastic and poisoned the food... But they cheated on us with the counting and they charged us 250 peeps. But on that day less than 150 peeps attended the wedding. They cheated us and charged us a lot. By far the best restaurant in Sri Lanka. I've been to Sri Lanka three times and I'm a big fan of Asian cuisine. In Europe I often visit Asian restaurants and run an Asian delivery service myself, so I can only recommend Sri Vaishnavi. 5 star plus for the food and the friendly service. Highly recommend it!

The customer service was worst, even though the hotel was good and the food was alright but the customer service was terrible. They treated us as if they were feeding me with their own money. The even treated a family next time my table so bad, we wanted to leave the restaurant as soon as we could. The person at the cashier was annoyed with other staff member and the overall atmosphere was very uncomfortable. Never gonna visit again and won’t recommend as well.

Worst customer service. Had to wait for more than 30 minutes for them to bring a coffee. Initially server was nowhere to be seen and other servers completely ignored us and tried not to make eye contact even when called. We decided that it was too much time to stay for a coffee and decided to leave. When we told them that we do not want the coffee they refused to take off the items from the bill. The server came with the coffee and basically demanded us to have it saying it was our fault that we told him to bring the coffee after our meal when he asked. The manager ignored the entire problem and after authorizing the cancellation murmured something that implied that we were overreacting. Didn’t even apologize for being late. Worst customer service and the servers have terrible attitude. Do not recommend.

These days it is very hard to find dine in but here the dine in is available we can go there with our family or friends enough space is there and the ambiance is awesome. We have ordered two south Indian meals, one north Indian meal, two sweet corn soup 🍲 and 3 lime juice the food is perfect and the paneer is sinking with the naan😋 I have really enjoyed the paneer. One of my friends said that " the sweetness of the PAYASAM is perfect" and finally we only 2600 rs for the above mentioned whole meal. TRY ONCE 🤞

My family and I decided to have dinner at this restaurant because we had enjoyed their food through delivery before and had also dined there a few years ago. We chose the air-conditioned seating area upstairs as we were a group of around 10 people, excluding kids. When we arrived, we were surprised to see many people waiting outside, and although there was a free table available, we had to wait for about 30 minutes to be seated, only to be placed in an area with no air conditioning. We waited an additional 20 minutes for a waiter to come and take our order, and then it took another 40 minutes for our food to be delivered. While I understand that things can get busy during rush hours and mistakes can happen, this was a clear case of bad service. I recommend that they improve their staff training, and it seems like the higher-ups don't value their customers. The service was really poor, and the food was just average. I usually don't complain about slow service, but in this case, I have to say that it's better to get the food delivered than dine in.
