The second star is only because of the golden fish at the reception. Our room wasn’t clean at all, the bed sheets smelled weird and the floor was wet. It was a very rainy night and we got a top floor room, which was great until we figured that there is a crack on the ceiling and it is literally raining inside the room. The mosque will wake you up in the middle of the nigh.

It's the first Agoda booking and first stay at this hotel. The location was not easy to find and it's the middle of some shops and a bit scared to go with family. As I'm a Sinhalese, there wasn't any sinhala person, everyone's Muslim. But they do understand Sinhala. The place seems to be repairing behind, there wasn't a spacious parking area, maximum two cars could park there at their own location. There are around 8 floors. Lift is available. Inside the room there was TV, Hot and Cool Shower, Cupboard, safe locker with spacious bed and table with chair also an AC unit. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Am 100% not sure about the bed accessories cleanness, and badly there wasn't any soap, driking water or towels luckily I took myself. They do not provide any food by their own, but possible to get from nearby. I went out myself and found a Sinhalese Shop opposite to the hotel, and their prices are very affordable and tastly foods are there. Forgot to say, the Lotus Tower clearly visible to the Hotel. No mosquitos to disturb nights. I feels the place is safe, not sure about the outside! Better not to go outside at nights for walking. Hope hotel will improve after repairs done, also better to fix stair access door closing which makes lot of sound and it's disturbing. Overall, I'm happy with our stay at Metro Port City Hotel.

The stay (from 16 to 18 December 2021) was horrible as it was, the main reason why this review is being written here now is to bring up a dirty trick played by the property to avoid my obviously bad review in booking.com. So, the property did cancel my booking in booking.com platform after about 8/10 after I completed my stay and posted the review. Apparently, it was done with the intention that if my booking is cancelled in the platform, the review would automatically go away (remember, payment option was 'pay at property' so there was no problem in getting the payment). I will work with booking.com to attempt to resuscitate the review but wanted to share with everyone to point out sometimes, how notorious some properties can be to curtain something they don't want the world to see. I hope they cannot take it down from Google playing any other dirty trick that I cannot perceive right now.... Hahahahaha!!!

One of the worst experience I have had. The room is not clean, blood stain on bed, no elevator facility for firs floor, staircase filled with cigarette buds.

This place is a scam! Stay away I closed one night and sent 3 emails and messages in the app that I'm landing late and will arrive later I didn't get an answer I got to the place and there was no one at the reception We rang the bell and they didn't answer the driver Hoover tried to call and there was no answer to Get there, don't get to that place They take the money and there is no return

Actually i was visited to see one of my friend and had worst experience there..when they provide the room to you at that time only they clean after that they don’t care about nothing even the bathroom and shower pipe was broken and not cleaned well. workers are always expecting TIP money from you..no clean ..no customer satisfied service nothing there.. then i ask him why you booked here he told me photos and reviews are good thats why came here so I decided to post real review so someone will save his time and money

My husband and I stayed here for one night while traveling through Colombo. We landed late at 10:30PM and the hotel was very nice to accommodate our late check in. The staff at reception was very nice and extremely friendly. They were eager to help us with everything that we needed. The room was spacious and clean and even had a balcony with a view of the city. The bathroom was quite decent as well. I’d definitely recommend staying here while in Colombo.

It very Good Hotel for both Local And foreigners. It is located in middle of colombo by using highway 20min to Airport and 5 minutes to Colombo City Beach and 5 star Hotels pubs and clubs. The Person Called Mr Selvam was the Incharge who serves a better service with everything. Rooms are so Clean and Bathroom Toilets are very clean too. Rooms are very cheap the quality is very high in customer services.

The hotel is centrally located. Room is very neat and the tariff is reasonable. Especially, for pure vegetarians, this is the best to place to stay in Colombo as u have 2 vegetarian hotels nearby and surrounded by lot of temples

Located in a little neighborhood,start up your morning with a little short walk around watching locals get ready to crank up their little businesses of the day,kids go to school,prayers blessing their day better than yesterday,its a lively experience. Not the best hotel,but the price ruled,get you sleep through the night.

Great location and very helpful staff. This is very near to the train station and central bus station. The rooms are quite spacious and clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone trying to stay on budget in Colombo.

Recommendable place for single night stay With reasonable price

A great place to stay if you are in this city. Beach views, walkable to many shops and friendly staff. We stayed for 3-days and really enjoyed it. Highly recommend this place.

Basic cheap place. Shower is so slow that ot's better to skip it than to lose your nerves. There is no soap either. Ok for quick one night stay.

In Colombo is hard to find good hotels with low prices. This was reasonable cheap. It's not as clean as I wished but berable. Not a european standard but this is Sri Lanka.

Location was calm and the reception staff were flexible and friendly. They said they have hot water facility in the rooms, but it didn't.

Went there yesterday. The is not recommend for anyone. Its not clean at all. You want get at least soap, clean towel, water..or anything.. Linen also used there is vety old and not clean at all.. There was two glasses but full of dust. I have to stay there cz im not able to find a another place..

One of the waste experience i ever had in the past. Atleast no water for drink, AC is not properly worked , TV 8s not working. Specially requested room with balcony but the receptionist told they dont have it but the request has expected.1/10

Very bad hotel . Highly disappointed . Lift is not working .. towels are not provided tho assured by reception lady . She keep forgetting and saying it will be given soon . Lots of people smoking in the reception area . Overall worst hotel . If the onwer seeing this message please take some good actions .. especially work on reception activities . No body cares about the reception . Total waste . I recommend nobody should waste money and have horrible experience.

It was horrible. The beds had moving legs and they're moving apart. Mattresses were made of stone. Also they had mushrooms growing through the floor maybe they could sell them. And remember to bring Washroom supplies to wash the washrooms before using. Also an extra bedsheet because the A/C is straight above your head. The room was not swept and drawers were not cleaned.

Worst hotel I ever stayed in. I paid for the AC room but the AC wasn't working at all. They have a 5v in the room but it was not working. Blankets were ripped. I saw cockroaches running around the room freely. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I couldn't sleep all night.
