Highbury Colombo is a world of luxury with so many designer features and unique collections of artworks, It is difficult to fully appreciate the detail that has gone into this exceptional property. The perfect combination of luxury and uniqueness is the main feature that I observed during my visit. The whole place is ecofriendly with a zero carbon footprint, This is definitely the place to stay in Colombo.

It's a homely place my friend who came from India stayed for 3 nights. It's like a home consept and very reasonable price only us $ 60 per night. The garden is lovely and very quiet place to relax.

Excellent guesthouse in a quiet but very convenient location. The hosts are extraordinarily courteous and helpful and go out of their way to make certain everything is just right. The house is tastefully decorated in the Sri Lankan style which adds to the ambiance and feel of being in Sri Lanka.

Beautiful space and lush greenery. I enjoyed the well thought out decor and interior design. However, professionalism and hospitality was lacking as well as some luxury accents. For instance a water kettle and sugar was made available but no tea bags. In addition, the shampoo and soap were cheap and old looking and looked to be of the lowest quality available in the country. There was no bottled water in our room and when I asked for water was charged for it although I noticed two guests check in and be handed water bottles on arrival. To sum it up, it’s a beautiful facility but I wouldn’t stay there again unless the hosts improved and were more hospitable as well as improved the in room amenities.

Horrible experience - avoid absolutely. The rooms are so humid. The walls were black of humidity. It is impossible to sleep. Full of mosquitoes. The owner is so incredibly arrogant and cheater. We paid for a superior room but she gave us a standard room. Her tone of voice is simply insulting. Please do not go there if you do not want to waste your holiday in Colombo. Find a hotel near the fort instead. Much better area over there. Good luck in Colombo.

Charming, homely, and historic. Highbury Colombo has been one of the loveliest stays I've ever done. I very rarely give a 10/10 review. But this place will be the first. Here are all the reasons you should stay here: 1. The garden is beautifully curated. Walking down the paths makes one feel like an adventurer discovering an old ancestral home in the tropics 2. The room is spacious, clean, and well designed. You get a nice cross-breeze when you open all the windows. Furthermore, because the house is buried in the garden you can't say you're in the heart of Colombo 3. The hosts are very welcoming and warm. They went above and beyond the very affordable rate. They graciously explained the history of this place and even shared some of their food, fresh from their property.

It was a pleasure to stay in this comfortable, cosy and homelike hotel. Authentic interior, home made healthy food and green smoothies. You can have a personal or group yoga session (yoga teacher can come for appointment), warm and friendly hostage, great service. Hotel have a nice green outdoor, and good location, supermarkets, cafe, restaurants, shopping mall, ocean within walking distance. Good Beauty salon just next door, where you can get massage, manicure, pedicure, and hair care.

My girlfriend and I stayed in the top room with a balcony and it was a beautiful studio over two floors. My favourite part of staying here was waking up to the beautiful Colombo sunrise as well as relaxing on the sheltered balcony when it rained. If you’re in Colombo I would highly recommend spending a few nights here as we did. The host makes lovely traditional breakfast which are very nutritious. I look forward to staying here again.

Worst experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. For such a high amount for just a room we expected the place to be great or even nice. The path to the room was a narrow staircase and we weren’t allowed to wear slippers inside but the floor was super dirty. We even paid extra to have 3 more guests just come over and the owner was rude enough to complain about them and even asked us to leave. But we still did not make a fuss until she actually made us tidy up the place the next morning and even asked us to take out the TRASH. Whateven is CUSTOMER SERVICE?

This is an amazing place. I just arrived yesterday and I already don’t want to leave the hotel, how beautiful and relaxing it is. I keep finding little gems, little relaxing spots and thoughtful decor touches everywhere. The gardens are so nice, the house itself is so beautiful, the bed is very comfy, breakfast is so delicious, organic and made with all their own produce! I have a private garden right outside of my room too, enjoying reading a book there. Birds sing outside of my windows just makes me so happy! It’s a perfect place and the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever been to. The owners are so friendly too and wow the owner is such a great cook! Really enjoyed the egghoppers! I wish I could upload the videos to show the atmosphere !

It was amazing family and treatment. We are sooooo happy that we are going to come back. We feel at home, it is save, clean, and so friendly. We are ready thankfully to them. They give us really good tips about the city and they were taking care of us in every moment. Peaceful and harmony ❤️❤️❤️ We are just two women traveling and this place is a great experience.

Located conveniently in the city centre yet you can stay calm and relaxed without busy city noises. Owners were great hosts. Helped us arrange the garden to a small, quiet celebration. Would have been great if they provided coffee and tea supplies in the room kitchen.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The hotel is beautiful, with a stunning garden and spotless rooms. The food was also gorgeous, and Manitha gave us some fantastic recommendations for our time in Sri Lanka. We couldn’t recommend enough. One of the nicest places we have ever stayed!

There is something very special about this accommodation - it’s easy to see that a lot of thought and love were put into designing the common areas and the rooms. The personal touches make you feel like you’re in an art gallery or book store, but with all the comforts of a home. The area is excellent, it’s close to some great places to eat and it’s easy access into the city centre. We were met by Manoji; she is a lovely woman and helps you with whatever you need. The rooms are spacious, with a lot of natural light. Our bed was very comfy and we had a small kitchenette in our room, which made it easy to enjoy a coffee from the balcony. There is also the option to have food prepared if you let them know early enough! We highly recommend it to anyone needing a peaceful place to stay while in the city or a place to relax for a few days. We loved its proximity to the airport, and chose to stay here just before leaving Sri Lanka. I didn’t make it to the Geoffrey Bawa houses, but staying at Highbury gave me the inspirational dose I was hoping for anyway! It’s so easy for us to leave a good review, we even left with some home-grown, fresh cinnamon!

This place is a DREAM. I came here because I had been going through a lot of stuff and needed a quiet respite of cozy lushness... but this place is BEYOND all expectations. The property is SO GORGEOUS. I just came back from a stroll in the little garden AGAIN. Every little nook and cranny is well taken care of with such impeccable taste with very personal touches, and curated with so much love- I just can't get enough! The energy of this entire place is divine. I couldn't leave my room for days when I first arrived. This place, the energy and the owners have taken such good care of me- it's the pampering I needed. I even forgot to go to the spa like I had planned, because this place is feeding my soul so much!

Highly recommended !!! Wonderful place, amazing hosts, perfect interior, lovely garden and superb rooms! I have “a garden” in my bathroom, and it’s really impressing! Breakfast was traditionally served and it was perfect for starting the day in that wonderful country. So, I do recommend this gorgeous hotel, I bet you won’t find more aesthetic and authentic place to stay in the city! Thanks again to hosts, they were very attentive and kind, it was very interesting and pleasant to meet them!

Beautiful place surrounded by grass, beautiful plants and trees. The rooms and bathrooms had a tropical vibe to it. A 5 minutes walk to Galle road where you get a lot of restaurants/coffee shops and a 7 minutes walk to marine drive for more restaurants and other entertainment along the beach. Getting a tuk tuk from here is also easy. The hosts Mr. Manitha, Mrs. Manoji & their Daughter Ranitri are so courteous and very flexible, available for contact at anytime on the Airbnb chat app. Kudos to them for making the Highbury an awesome place to stay in.

I stayed for 4 nights in Highbury, and it was an unforgettable experience. Highbury is very peaceful and friendly place with a garden full of trees, plants and birds. Manitha's food is so delicious and so colourful. I will definitely return to this hidden gem in Colombo....

What a beautiful experience it was! 🙏🏽 Manoji and her husband are two beautiful souls, kindhearted, respectful and caring. They have made me feel like I was home & I wish I was able to spend more time chatting with them. The house itself is a piece of art, designed & decorated with so much attention and passion, it truly has a vibe of travel and openness. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and it has become my favorite place in Colombo. The calmness and lush garden made me feel grounded with nature while being in the city. I had the chance of staying in the family room situated on the very top of the house, it felt like a little tree house. I will definitely come back and would recommend this place 100%! Thank you for your special attentions especially while preparing delicious food! Looking forward to seeing you again soon 🤗🌸

Extraordinary guesthouse in Colombo, its the perfect green oasis to come back to after a day in the bustling city. The interior is beautiful, you can feel the love that has been put into creating this place. Food is very expensive, but they offer a water filter and have solar energy.

Highbury is a beautiful accommodation in a pretty and quiet neighborhood in Colombo. The rooms are so relaxing and Manoji is a brilliant host. She was kind enough to store most of our luggage while we travelled round Sri Lanka. We stayed at Highbury 3 times over 2 months as we didn't want to stay anywhere else in Colombo. We will stay again if we are back in Colombo.

Hosts were very hospitable. We didn't let them know we would be late and so after ringing doorbell neighbour helped us contact them. They were very kind and set up rooms for us very fast. Rooms are nice and bathrooms also very nice. Would definitely stay here again.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this Hotel, specifically the Highbury Colombo, and my experience was truly exceptional. The hotel's location in the heart of Colombo, Sri Lanka, added to the overall charm of my stay. Let me begin with the culinary experience –Since I had the breakfast there, the taste of the food was nothing short of delightful. The diverse menu offered a range of delectable options, each dish expertly crafted and bursting with local flavors that made every meal a memorable experience. The culinary team's dedication to providing a delightful dining experience was evident in every bite. Cleanliness is paramount for me when choosing accommodation, and the Highbury Colombo Hotel exceeded my expectations. The rooms and common areas were immaculately maintained, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment. The attention to detail in cleanliness certainly contributed to the overall positive impression I had during my stay. The garden at the hotel was a serene oasis in the bustling heart of Colombo. It provided a peaceful retreat, allowing guests to unwind amidst nature's beauty. The well-maintained greenery and thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces added a touch of tranquility to the overall ambiance of the hotel. I would be remiss not to acknowledge the outstanding service provided by Ms. Manoji, the host at the Highbury Colombo Hotel. Her commitment to ensuring a fantastic stay for guests was truly commendable. Ms. Manoji's hospitality and attention to detail made my visit memorable, and I would like to express my gratitude for her exceptional service, In addition to that I had the privilege of visiting and capturing enchanting photos of one of Sri Lanka's historical and oldest mansion, locals call it as "Walawwa" conveniently situated in front of this hotel. Guests have the unique opportunity to explore this property, as it also belongs to the host family, adding an extra layer of historical charm to their experience. In summary, my stay at the Hotel – Highbury Colombo was a delightful experience. From the exquisite taste of the food to the impeccable cleanliness, lush garden, and the exceptional service provided by Ms. Manoji, every aspect contributed to a memorable and enjoyable stay. I highly recommend this fully air-conditioned studio homestay to anyone seeking a remarkable stay in Colombo.
