Jubilee Post in Nugegoda is a marker placed to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria.[1] Located at the intersection of Old Kottawa, Kotte (B120) and Ekwatta Roads, it is a local landmark. It has since been neglected by the Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte Municipal Council which has painted it white

Historical landmark. Demolished in the process of road constructions in October 2020. Now there are no roundabout any longer. No post. Only the carpeted road. I guess the officials did not know the importance of the landmark. 2021 Jan - the jubilee post junction experienced major development with widening of road and installation of colour lights. Now the traffic is much less in the junction.

Jubilee Post (Sinhala: ජුබිලි කණුව) Nugegoda is a commemorative marker, at the intersection of Stanley Thilakarathne Mawatha (B120) and Old Kottawa Road, formerly King George Avenue (B291), recognising the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887.[1] The post was initially erected on the road verge but was subsequently relocated to the middle of the intersection.[2][3] It was moved again in 2020 when the intersection was upgraded.[4] The post is approximately 1.2 m (3 ft 11 in) high and is fixed to a rectangular base, 52 cm (20 in) by 34 cm (13 in) and 26 cm (10 in) tall. The inscriptions on the post are in English and Sinhalese.[5] It is maintained by the Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte Municipal Council, who have painted the post white.[6] On 8 July 2005 it was gazetted as an archaeological protected monument by the government.[7] -wikipedia-

Not bad. 119 takes time to load people at nugegoda. Again when taking 119 from jubilee post to nugegoda it takes at least half an hour to get a bus.

A busy junction named after a memorial post placed in celebration of the golden jubilee of Queen Victoria. Highly developed with upcoming traffic lights. Connects 4 main roads which brings a huge flow vehicles to colombo on each working day. Already equipped with super markets, banks and other business points which would cater to every need of the people living around as well as passers by...
