One of the modern day performing art theatres and arguably the best auditorium currently in Sri Lanka. It's quite amazing and the technology and architecture is of top notch. There is tight security and you cannot visit or roam here and there with out permission unless you are entering for an event. You can't bring outside food to the theatre. There are ample parking space available. The Nelum Pokuna has got its name due to its resemblence of a blooming 'Nelum' flower and due to its similarities with the ancient Nelum Pokuna in Polonnaruwa era.

This is one of the best event/concert venues in Sri Lanka, Located in the City of Colombo. It can accommodate large crowds for both indoor and outdoor concerts/events. The indoor auditorium is air conditioned and has seating arrangements in different levels with comfortable seats. Car parking facilities are also available here.

It was a nice experience with a good surrounding system and a next-level visualizing combination available for the audience. I have uploaded some video footage of KUWENI concert that you can get an idea about the theatre. The ground and 1st balcony are the best places to be seated. However, don't choose the 2nd balcony as you can't see the screen or the stage clearly. Also, avoid choosing the side balconies because it's not easy to maintain the same posture for a long time, and you may strain your neck. The washrooms are clean and maintained with good hygiene. Foods or water bottles are not allowed in the auditoriums; you have to keep them outside before entering. You can buy food in the ground cafeteria where fresh short eats and beverages are available all the time. Free parking is available inside and outside the theater, so you don't need to worry about it as there are plenty of spaces available.

Outdoor Arena is perfect for night concerts with an energetic crowd. No alcohol allowed inside, but folks enjoy it outside and still have a blast. Plenty of space for food stalls and other vendors. The lighting system is impressive. Limited parking, car passes needed for some events. It's impeccably clean and secure, thanks to the forces. A truly unique place.

Entertaining, comfort, security all are ok except 1 thing. That is they are not allowed to take a water bottle for little kids. That is a very uncomfortable incident which i faced in my very 1st visit to here. Not only me but any person with a heart may not feel good that kind of experience in their visit. That's why i have to give only 3 stars to this, if else i would have give all 5 stars as a proud Srilankan.

We were in the balcony seats. We were in the middle rows. The front of the stage was not clearly visible from the balcony, especially when the person in front of you is peaking forward. Otherwise comfortable and good A/C.

I went to this place to attend a convocation. This place is good for such events coz it can accommodate a huge crowd. Is consist of two story balcony as well and the seat arrangement provides a good view of the stage. We were unable to find any washrooms in the upper floors other than the ground floor. That was a little draw back I saw in the place. Apart from that even though the washrooms had all the facilities they were not that clean they must have sufficient amount of cleaning staff full time occupied in the washroom so that the place will not be messy specially on crowded days.

This is a modern day performing art theatre and the best auditorium currently in Sri Lanka. They used quite trending technology and architecture there and it's really appreciable. You can't bring outside food to the theatre and there is a cafe inside. Also there is good security and you can't visit or roam here and there without permission unless you are entering an event. Beautiful atmosphere and ample parking space available.

Participating in Chandimal's 'Evergreens of the 70s' concert at the Nelum Pokuna was an absolutely delightful experience that transported us back to the golden era . The concert was a nostalgic journey through the timeless hits of the 1970s. Chandimal and his team masterfully brought to life the magic of that musical period, capturing the essence and spirit of the era's music. It was a heartfelt tribute to the iconic songs and artists of that time. The choice of the Nelum Pokuna, a renowned cultural venue, was perfect. The grandeur of the auditorium complemented the music beautifully. The acoustics were impeccable, allowing the melodies to fill the space and touch the hearts of the audience. Chandimal and the talented musicians and vocalists who accompanied him deserve immense praise. Their renditions were flawless, evoking a sense of nostalgia and prompting spontaneous applause from the audience. Each note was a reminder of why these songs have stood the test of time. The concert wasn't just about music; it was an engaging presentation that included anecdotes, trivia, and stories behind the songs. This added depth to the performance and connected the audience with the music on a personal level. The audience itself was a testament to the enduring popularity of 70s music. People of all ages, from different walks of life, came together to celebrate the songs that have shaped our collective memories. The sing-along moments were particularly .Overall, the 'Evergreens of the 70s' concert by Chandimal at Nelum Pokuna was an unforgettable experience. It served as a beautiful reminder that great music knows no boundaries of time, and it continues to resonate with our souls. It was a night of pure joy, and it left us eagerly anticipating future musical journeys."

A modern performing art theatre with modern facilities. Best view of the stage is from the balcony directly in front, while the side balconies provide a poor view. Spectators are not allowed to take in food or beverages inside the theatre. Concerts are also held outside the main entrance. Has ample parking space for vehicles.

Enough and more parking space inside the premises. The show I attended to certain people, acting singers wheren't on time and there was a huge fan base too for the show. Due to not being punctual people from outside of Colombo too had a difficult day the following day. Organising committee/s had done 👍 a great job 👏👏👏. Huge applause out to them .. Ah... 1 more the sounds was too much as kept echoing inside the Nelum Pokuna hall. That's due to outside sound being set up for the artists laziness not checking. Please make sure the sounds doesn't echo in the viewer's ear drums even at weddings these take place! 😯

Good Place. We went there to see Kuwni The Musical. We have had 2nd balcony sheets. There is small problem that we can’t see back main screen fully.

A best auditorium in Sri Lanka. Management also provide good service. You could have wonderful memories there

Very badly managed. Toilets are unhigenic , hand washing liquid smells like💩 putty. The lift is not working. No disabled access ♿ 👎entrance . Certain school auditoriums and most private cinema theatres are way better than this place.

This is the best theater by far in Sri Lanka. Atmosphere both inside and outside are awesome. In addition to the main theater it has an outdoor event area as well. Been there for indoor musical events and I must say the experience is superb. Sound quality is very good and the stage is clearly visible without any obstruction from front rows. There’s ample parking space outside the theater and you don’t need to worry about finding a parking spot. A small cafe is there inside which sells snacks and cool drinks. The only drawback I have experienced is that they don’t allow taking any food or beverages inside the theater. Even no water bottles. So you have to fill yourself before entering the theater. Anyways, A must have experience at least once.

Well managed place. Very clean. You cannot bring any food or drinks to the theatre. You have to pass the security check. Otherwise they cannot maintain the quality of this place. So nice to have a theatre like this. I think this place manage by forces.

I didn't go inside. I have seen it on the road. Saw the museum on the way. It looks great on the road👏. I like to sit in front of Vihara Maha Devi Park and watch it🤩. A very busy area🥴 Can't give five stars because I haven't been inside

Canteen service has to improve and their should be arrangements on lobby area for people to sit before any program start. other than that, everything is perfect 👍

Probably the best theater in Sri Lanka.Locared in the heart of Colombo so there are no issue of reaching. The building is designed as a lotus flower, not a architectural master piece but definitely way nicer than average building. The place has huge parking, wash rooms and all the basic facilities. The team is doing a good job in maintaining perspective.

Well maintained place to visit. Nice & calm place. Very beautiful shape always reminding this place is one and only place for whole world. So we should help to protect those places in our country and use those places for our occasions. Proud to have that in srilanka and also its new experience to be that auditorium

I was determined to go for this, as I'm sick to death of the government turning a blind eye to the environmental destruction going on around the country. Despite the President trying to deny it, and showing foreign pictures, the evidence is there for all to see. If he'd come, he would have seen for himself the exact locations and extent of damage! Thanks to the younger generation for making their voices heard. I was disappointed by the lack of representation of people my age group - especially since it was on their door-step! Shame on you!
