Busy place in Office times. Walking distance to the galle face.

Not a big station. Close to colombo fort station. You can go with in 2 or 3 minutes to colombo fort from kompannavidiya station. And you can get the trains to galle,mathara, moratuwa, panadura, mountlaveniya from this station. Lot of trains are go trough in this station.

This city can not same to any other places in Sri Lanka and this has most beautiful tourism places,fresh and cool weather, very kind, colourful,talented and hospitality people, best educational schools and classes with religious backgrounds (Budhist, Tamil, Muslim, Catholic, Christian and others).

Better way to travel in local train without traffic and pollution. Just try it...

One of the OG British railway stations. Pretty busy too during the office rush hours.. It's got that classic look, but the developments in the area are running it. Before long, it'll be hidden underneath a flyover (admittedly it good to be able to bypass the crossing during rush hour)

Not bad, most of the time they provide tickets efficiently. But there are sometimes they keep talking to each other without providing tickets. I have missed trains due to this.

I think this is one of the oldest and the dirtiest railway stations. Along the way from the Nawam Mawatha side, there are garbage bags thrown along the rail tracks. The station itself is very dark with leaking roofs everywhere. Very poorly maintained.

Need to renovation because this is in tha capital of srilanka

Many office workers use this station, situated in southern/ coastel line. Though it's limited to two platforms, its crowded and has an ancient look.

In the evening time, this station will be crowded and if a train 🚆 will stop here most probably that will stop at all the stations

They discharge tickets quite fast.

Good. But platforms should be longer than now so that a double set train can be stopped without being extended by either sides.

Seating space all in One place, need to spread the seating as the Platform is long.

One of the main and busiest railway stations in Colombo. Most of the trains goes down and up will be stopping here. The entrance has a wheelchair access so as the washrooms. The telephone operator is very helpful with telling you about the train times and other details. Update : June 2022 The road to the raiway station is under construction due to the building of a new flyover. The roads are closed most of the time. However alternative roads are in operation in order to access the Railway station.

When you are purchasing tickets remember to always ask if your train is on time or canceled, cause the staff careless and you will end up waiting for a train which is either delayed or canceled.

One of the main train station in Colombo suburb. The station is maintained by the John keels hence the station is clean compare to other railway stations. The railway station has two platforms. This does not have any other facility than the sitting and wash rooms. Enough seating is available and thanks to John keels the seats are bugs free. You can buy tickets to any station from here. The staff is really friendly but they have very few on work. Wash rooms are clean and well maintained compare to other railway stations, especially compared to fort station.
