Tried their dinner buffet for the first time, it was quite decent. They had a good mix of salads, Indian, Sri Lankan, Italian, and East Asian food, and a good dessert spread as well. In comparison to some of the other hotels around, the buffet was limited. Food was tasty and the staff were excellent.

This cafe is actually a part of the larger restaurant of the Shangri La Hotel. The entrance is from the Mall floor so people think it’s a stand alone café. The space has been done up really well. Plush exterior and luxurious interiors really enhance the experience of having coffee here. I saw a lot of people working remotely from here and it mimicked the Starbucks corporate crowd vibe. However, it’s a really nice cafe to catch up or just take a break in between shopping 🛍 too. The vibe is too good. We ordered three varieties of coffees and all were served promptly. We also tried a couple of desserts and found those good too. Overall I would recommend going here.

I have been to such high quality restaurants many times in my life but I have never had such a great experience. This place is very good and I highly recommend it to anyone . The standards here are excellent.

The variety of the buffet is pretty good but definitely downgraded when compared to a few months before. Quality is excellent. You must make a reservation before. Current price is 6100 p.p.

Shangri-La Central Restaurant Never disappoints. Following all the health regulations. When not eating and going to the buffet, you need to wear your mask. Chefs are there to serve you in every counter.Amazing place to go for Lunch or Dinner. Best buffet in Colombo. Amazing sushi 🍣 and sashimi, all you can eat. Best thin crust pizza 🍕, daily roast. Freshly made pasta.Chinese noddle bar is great. Indian Lamb kebabs were the best. Dessert bar has so many choices.Then on the side wall next to dessert 🍮 they have a help your self candy and toffee shelves.

Tried the Breakfast Buffet last weekend. And the whole experience was absolutely lovely 🥰 Tried out some stuff that I've never tried at any other Breakfast buffet, including Frozen Yoghurt. The pancakes and waffles were kinda dry but everything else was just amazing. Wish there were more chicken options though :/ The service and atmosphere were impeccable! The views were amazing and the Restaurant is just stunning! We were lucky enough to get a 25% off, so it was super worth it! Definitely going again.

We went here for a quick coffee on a weekday afternoon. Staff was super friendly & welcoming. Ambience was so soothing. May be because of a weekday, there were less customers. So, atmosphere here was calm & quiet too. We tried latte and it was so nice. We got free cookies as well. Overall experience was good. Hope to go there again soon. Finally, Highly recommended for coffee !!

Food is amazing I'll definitely come again

Dinner buffet is really lovely consists with multi national cuisines foodstuffs. Arrangements of all the food items and most of all the taste of the foods were actually good. Asian noodles soup was the best among all. Chocolate foundation also really impressive. Atmosphere was peaceful and cozy. Brilliant for any family or any other kind of gathering. Located inside the Shangri-La hotel, Galle face, Colombo. Easy to locate, hotel security is impressive. Only negative point is it was really difficult to find a parking slot during the rush time inside the parking. There were a lot of free parking slots in some areas but we were unable to find those areas since there was no any proper guidance by the staff.

Had the pleasure of experiencing their lunch buffet on a Saturday. The architecture throughout the hotel and restaurant is grand and beautiful. Although a bit crowded, it did not take away from the overall experience. The buffet offers a wide variety of appetizers and dishes from various cuisines - Japanese, Thai, Sri Lankan, and Indian, not to mention a delightful dessert section. The food was delicious and the staff was efficient and reliable. Added perk, the parking is free with the token given by the restaurant. Likely the best buffet experience in Colombo.

We recently had the pleasure of having dinner buffet at the Central Cafe, Shangri-La Colombo while celebrating my wife's birthday. Absolutely blown away by the food, service and atmosphere. The hotel is located in the heart of Colombo, and the views of the restaurant are simply stunning. The buffet is a feast for the senses, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from, including Sri Lankan, Indian, Japanese, Chinese and Western cuisine. There were several action stations like for spaghetti, pasta, salads, pizza, meat & seafood, koththu, hoppers and deserts. Service and staff at the restaurant was excellent. Highly recommended for anyone.

I went for dinner and the place gets super crowded during dinner time. Loved the food. The barbecue section was especially good. There was a high demand for hoppers and the biriyani was also good. Appreciate the staff, especially the chefs in the dessert section. They were very supportive of our selection. The ice cream options were also nice. Loved the cakes. Crapes were there but the fillings were just basic so I did not enjoy them. My kid loved the chocolate fountain and the gatteu were nice.

I went for desserts here after a dinner nearby and was not disappointed. Tried the Cheesecake and Red Velvet Cake. It took a while for them to bring these out but when we got them we could understand the reason for slight delay. Lovely presentation. Taste was absolutely spot on. Highly recommend.

The atmosphere was excellent, and the buffet was very rich and tasty. Specially thanks to Lakruwan who was extremely supportive with a great personality and make sure that our needs were covered also wanted to mention akalanka, Andrew, thanuja and the chefs from the sushi bar, laksa station and dessert station thank you.We had a wonderful time and looking forward to the next time. The place was nice. A cozy place. I went there for dinner buffet and the food selection wasn't at its best comparing to other five star hotels in Colombo. Actually it's the worst buffet I've ever visited in Colombo but the staff did great. Staff was super friendly and approachable. That's why I'm leaving here 3star review. So please improve the variations of food and try to make accessible for the foods without making any boarders. I've to mention that the pickle selection was good and I like the live food stations too.

The central Restaurant of Shangri-la is amazing. Best buffet I have come across with all action stations . Its very lively and food is amazing. 6100 lkr but worth a try.

Love love love their chocolate and orange cake. Flavours would explode in the mouth and will blow your mind. Cappuccino was excellent as well. A must visit for a coffee and cake lover!

One of the best buffet experiences in Colombo. Though the place was crowded with plenty of customers, the waiters remained attentive to every detail and request, be it serving tea or fetching a new set of cutlery. A wide variety of top-notch cuisine from Local delights to International dishes. You can also buy decent cocktails from the bar at 1000LKR each.

Service is great and location is beautiful. Food is fresh but lacking in taste. I wished the taste was more powerful as it was quite blend. Presentation is great. Portion size is also very generous. Price is fair.

A great experience at Central cafe in Shangri-La Colombo. I was looking for a good buffet to take my parents and in-laws while I was visiting and came across this one and it didn't disappoint. The reason for looking for a buffet was that we had varying dietary preferences with one being vegetarian and another having gluten allergies. The food was varied with a dishes covering the breadth of Asia from sushi to tandoori to local classics. If I had to go for one dish I loved, I'd say the Sri Lankan tempered rice with batu moju and black pork curry was the winner here. I did make a booking over WhatsApp before I left for Sri Lanka and it was seamless. Pricing is reasonable given the location and service was excellent with a special callout to Uresha and Kalum who took good care of us.

So far the best buffet in Colombo.. Tastiness of food is 10/10. Uniqueness of food 9/10. Spread 7/10 Service and attention of staff 10/10. Attitude of overall staff 100(hundred)/10 Had a great time enjoying different types of food.. Akash and Kasun was very helpful. We had mixed feelings before the visit... But Shangri-la nailed it.. P.S dessert corner could've been slightly better than this..
