Tried the dinner buffet and was average at best. Had a decent spread. Main dishes were a hit or miss but the salads and cold meats were excellent. They were serving some dishes with alcohol so its not fully halal. Some food like the fruits were not restocked. For the price I think they could have done better.

Highly disappointed !! paid 4911/- per person for dinner buffet but not worth at all ,the spread was limited and taste was just bland !! Spread limitation could be due to the current crisis but still should've made it worth for what we pay, Staffs were lost! We had to keep reminding about refilling the dishes and cutleries . most of the dishes refilled were different from previous ones ,so once we enjoy a dish there's no chance for a second go , simply to say it was not that "Galadari" standard we expected .

I went out with my family on 16th November for buffet dinner. The was full and I made a reservation and the service was good the food was delicious and quality variety of selection and value for money. I would recommend this place .

We had high tea buffet at Galadari and we had to wait for a while to get a booking because its usually always fully booked, for the right reasons. They offer a lot of variety and the food is also really delicious. Apart from Hilton and few other places, you will struggle to find a better high tea experience than Galadari which in my opinion is worth the price since its unlimited food and drinks. I have 3 critics tho: It was really crowded, when the buffet started, the line was so line, we had to wait in line for about 5-10 minutes, and most of the food was finished as well when we are on the queue. Secondly, forks and spoons should be in a visible place, as a result of the queue I struggled to find them. We also got a corner table, which didn't have a good view, was crowded and near to the lobby so I didn't like it. Reducing stars for the criticism is harsh, its crowded so any hotel will struggle, but Galadari managed it well imo. They also tried to refill the food as quickly as possible. When the queue reduces after some time, the experience can be much better.

Today(13th Aug 2022) I went for the Dinner buffet at Coffee shop in Galadari. This was my first buffet experience in a hotel in this range. Tbh, I felt like vomiting when I tasted the mains. The smell around was so spicy that it destroyed my appetite totally. The rice was spicy. Chicken curries were also spicy. I felt I should not try buffet in any otel in this range. 😓

Overall experience on food and beverage here is average. Their high tea is less expensive compared to other hotels in the area. They have a variety of items too . However the quality is average. So is the service. Their cakes are good in quality. Prices seem reasonable.

We had dinner at the galadari buffet on 17th july. The food was subpar, not many options to choose from. The most disappointing were the desserts.. at the time we arrived there were many delicious looking desserts.. but by the time we went to have dessert many of the nice ones we saw earlier were finished and were replaced by cheap badly made ones. The chocolate mousse was replaced with chunks of chocolate coverd oats.. there was no relacement for the cheesecake they simply took the empty plate and namd board away. Even some of the mains were not replenished, both pringrolls, paneer butter masala seemd to have gotten over quickly but wasnt refilled the entire time we were there. My advise is if you are going for the buffet dont follow the sequence, just fill your plates first with everything you want as soon as you arrive because once something is over they will never refill.

Went to the Coffee Shop at Galadari on a weekend for lunch. Opted for the lunch buffet. The place had a few vacant tables. The spread was good with SriLankan, Continental and far Eastern cuisines. There's a decent spread of breads, salads, soups etc... Some good desserts are available as well. The taste was good. Overall, i liked the Continental spread over others. The cost was ok. 2k, after tax, per person. I guess its one of the cheapest fine dining buffets in town. The staff are very courteous. The ambience is good.

Went for Galadari High tea on a Friday. They have dropped the quality they had couple of years back. Focused only on savory items and desserts. Earlier they were serving wide range of sandwiches, sea food, bbq items, noodles etc. but those were not served now. Reservation had to place 4 weeks in advance.

One of the oldest 5star hotels in Colombo. Well the coffee shop is mainly a buffet area during lunch and dinner it has a decent spread and very good value for money. The buffet adheres to the covid guidelines. From appetizers, mains to desserts food was of good quality. The ambience is bit old need renovation

I am a Coffee Lover and I went for a Cappuccino Coffee, Sad to say they give me a Milk coffee. but I am sure it is not Cappuccino!!. but you can get very tasty cakes here.

Old style 5 Star hotel. But has been kept quite well. The room are spacious and I got a good view from my room. The breakfast buffet was well payed out and had both traditional and continental options.

I went to high tea buffet with my wife and daughter. It was really good 👍. My daughter was 2yrs old and they did not charge for her. There were many food items that are not hot and spicy. Therefore my daughter could also eat. The momentum of the staff at the beginning of the buffet was not at the end. They seemed dull at the end. The quality of food items was good 😊. Uludu wade was the best item for me (may be because I am a Sri Lankan). Iced milk coffee was the best drink for me. I saw not even the elite class but also common people also eating there. It is a good sign 🪧 that Sri Lankan also spending time on good food. It is good to sustain local businesses.

Re High Tea, Not happy with taste and standards for a 5 star hotel. Guess they drop the quality since more business. No of items wise lot but need to improve lot on taste. Focus on Noodle, bread items, ice cream Fruit punch.

First time at the Galadari. Wanted to try out the lunch buffet and see the offerings. Not disappointing but nothing that really wowed me. The spread was decent. The one thing i loved was the choices of fresh pickles (umberalla, nelli, guava, etc). My experience with pickles in Toronto is limited to opening a bottle of MD brand. To taste the fresh pickled fruits was delightful and felt so very true to the spirit of sri lanka. The second and third things i enjoyed were the string hopper biriyani and the seet and sout seafood (shrimps, calamari, dry fish (?)). The rest of the food, to be honest, felt lackluster. Maybe best catered to a European crowd with very specific and selective taste buds. The desserts too were fine. Just fine. Nothing exquisite, but nothing extraordinary either.

👍High tea buffet at Galadari was great 👌 The main thing was the quantity and variety of items that was available, it was worth skipping lunch 😉 👍We were a group of about 12 and were in early before the opening at 3:30 (yes a hungry set of fellas) , we had a prior reservation and got the secluded seating area under the tent. When it was time, there was a huge queue of people serving, shows the popularity of the place 👍 The variety items from savouries, to sweets and meat variations, the vegetarian corner (the Pani puri was good 💯) were good and so were the quantities. I saw them refilling most of the dishes. 👎 If there are anything lacking it was the variety of drinks, just a few available. Especially the fruit drink options. Of course they had tea ☕ 😁 👎 The ambience was good, but the furniture was old and they could slightly improve on cleanliness, but I also heard in the news that Galadari is going for a full refurbishment, which is much needed.

Calm environment to dine in with friends and family. They could organize the seating area and maintain cleanliness as well. The high tea buffet was priced 3650/= per pax. They had 40+ varieties consisting of sandwiches, savories, fruit juices and desserts. They could improve in the savory section and desserts. I loved the sandwich section. Overall I would give a 6/10 for the high tea spread.

Went to the dinner buffet on a Thursday. Buffet spread was reasonable for this price tag. There were Indian, Sri Lankan, Oriental varieties with a live meat and seafood station. The space inside this Coffee Shop area is somewhat small for a restaurant like this. Mains and desserts tasted very good.

The High tea buffet was Excellent. The cost was Rs 3800 and for this price, everything was phenomenal. Great calm atmosphere for a family dine in and wide range of foods are available. Short eats, sandwiches, was very yummy and drinks like juice too was very cooling n also tea n coffee too. The High tea buffet was quite nice and they had 50+ items. The cost was 2600pp and for this price, everything was phenomenal. The iced coffee and even the hot coffee was really nice. They had a wide range of sweet items and over 40 different savoury items. The cafe itself was really nice and the staff were nice too. Highly recommended.

Opted to go for a lunch on a Sunday! Options were limited and was more biased to Arabic meals which I didn’t enjoy! I assume these issues were because it was a Sunday! Cannot say I’m satisfied with the food! But the stads was really good and helpful, parking was not an issue at all!

We had a family dinner out at this great place. Simply I would say it is one of the best! Cool ambience, exceptionaly good staff and chefs who minds all your needs. Specialy when comes to food..it realy worth the price. Not a huge variation, but what they have is at top notch standard and quality with a fine indulgence to match your taste ( Fell in love with their salads and desserts :)).Highly recommended.

Great place with really five start service. So many to select and very delicious foods. Great place to be with your family and friends.

The buffet used to be good. But recently (post covid) the buffet is served by chefs and no longer you can call it a buffet. And there are so many complications. Other hotels in the city still let customers pick thier food by themselves. Food is okay and the variety needs improvement. Price is really fair but still let the customers have their own food.
