When it comes to Japanese restaurants I have 3 favorite places and Ginza is number 2 Ranking. Although this is one of the usual places I go to, I have not been able to visit in almost a year, I was not let down yesterday evening when I went over for dinner as the quality and taste was as expected, nothing has changed. I would rate there service 5 out of 5 Quick, efficient, very friendly and inviting Quality of food 5 out of 5 everything was fresh, perfect temperature, very clean, good portions, good ratio in rice and meat Taste 5 out of 5 Taste was excellent, Authentic, flavorful from good quality soy sauce, wasabi, Pickled ginger to all the elements used in the dishes were the best Location 4.5 Very roomy, clean, good ambiance, big enough to not get fully packed and comfortable Pricing 4 out of 5 Bit on the high side on pricing, but it’s worth it as they say cheap things no good and good things no cheap. It’s worth the money for the quality, taste, and the overall experience you get here. Special note: you must get there belly pork dish as it is one of the best I have ever had. Highly recommend this place and they do have a bigger variety than any other Japanese restaurants in Sri Lanka.

Great food. Authentic flavours. Wide choice of dishes. The staff provides excellent service. The ambience is homely and cozy.

One of the best places I visited in Colombo and the only place I could find 100% authentic Japanese cuisine in Colombo so far. Calm place with a real Japanese atmosphere. Friendly staff. Later I got to know that the owner is a Sri Lankan gentleman who got married to a Japanese lady and the owner was honoured by the Japanese ambassador for Sri Lanka. If you are used to Chinese / oily food or food with artificial colours and flavours, you will be disappointed here.

This is a Japanese restaurant near the Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo. I came here for dinner. The store seemed to consist of 1st and 2nd floors. There were not many customers because we arrived a little early, but many tables were reserved. I ordered a variety of food and ate it, but it was so delicious that I couldn't take a lot of pictures because I ate it. If you're looking for a decent Japanese meal in Colombo, this is the place to go.

Absolute rip off for nothing. I’ve looked at their online menu and the prices was totally different. For some reason got changed tax , first time after being here a month. Don’t go unless you’re willing to pay a fortune for something bellow average. The service was good and the waiter was nice

Great experience here, situated in a very upscale area with good parking. Their food is so fresh and delicious. We were greeted with smiling waiter that took us to the table. They have a great selection on the menu. Food came in less than 10 mins. Never seen that kinda speed here in SL. Very friendly service. I would recommend making a reservation prior to your visit. We went on a Thursday and did not have a lot of crowds.but I here this place can get crowded.

Out of the few japanese restaurants peppered around Colombo, Ginza stands out for its ambience , amazing presentation and taste. service is superb and the open kitchen concept is on brand. Only problem you may face is selecting what you want as the menu offers way too many delectable options. Its a good problem to have though :)

Second time visiting this place and surprised to see it empty again - one of the best restaurants I have visited in Colombo. The food is delicious. The service is amazing. They have a very rich menu - you can find everything for every taste.

Visited with my wife for dinner. Food has nice flavours and have space for many people. Parking is bit tricky abut worth the visit.

We visited early doors so the place was empty. Our waiter was attentive and very welcoming. We ordered drinks and food, which were delivered piecemeal, that aside it was exceptionally tasty and in true Japanese spirit. Nice Japanese background music. All in all a great experience. Expensive but nowhere near as expensive as it would be in London, which is where we are from. Thoroughly enjoyable and credit to our waiter.

Ginza Hohsen is a high end Japanese food restaurant. They are capable of making most delicious japanese cuisines.it is an amazing calm place to visit if you really want to taste Japanese food.The staff is very helpful when picking food and overall an amazing getaway from busy Colombo life.seperate dining rooms and open tables are available for your preference.ginza have there separate parking area also near to the restaurant.this is a place i would recommend to anyone and surely visit again.

My favourite place at Colombo or even in the whole Sri Lanka! I’ve been here 3 times and each visit stuff were friendly, kitchen was quick (15 mins, guys!) and food very delicious! My favourite dish is Chicken Ramen. Thank you Ginza for pleasure 🤩

Tried out Ginza on NY eve... food was really good and fresh. Had a bit of everything instead of 1 set menu and was pretty stuffed when we were done. The sushi was nice, the sashimi was fresh, the Tempura and Yakiniku were also very well done and we enjoyed it. Service was really good, although it was crowded and buzzing managed to get food very fast.

Been there a few times. Nice open space. Food is tasty. Service is superb. Very friendly, very pleasant and accommodating staff. You can Carry your own spirits. No extra charge. At least they did not charge us 🤩

One of the best if not the best possible sushi and sashimi in Colombo. Frequented by tourists as well as locals, it can get packed at times so really worth booking ahead. The dedication of the skilled team at the sushi counter as well as in the room maintain efficient and steady service no matter the number of orders they need to attend. Even though more than 100 customers may be attended at once, the service feels personal and homely. Special mention for the hot sake, a rarity around.
