Saw all the good reviews and thought it would be delicious. But it was not. I actually think they might have purchased fake reviewers, because I don't think it was memorable, at all. We ordered noodles and ramen but none of them had any good flavor at all.

For context, this is the first Japanese restaurant / food I've eaten in CDMX, so please consider that when reading my review. It is entirely possible for example that this is the best katsu curry (tonkatsu curry i.e. カツカレ) in the city. I'm writing this review in a fairly critical way, mainly to help any other person specifically looking for "normal" Japanese katsu curry. That said, I'd probably give the curry / pork combo a combined 3.5/5 stars, but I'm bumping my overall rating up to 4/5 stars because the price was very fair and my spouses ramen was pretty good (too salty though, probably another 3.5 stars), and the portion of pork in the meal was very good. My main issue was the curry itself - the curry felt homemade, which could be a good thing, but it just didn't have the taste I've come to expect. I'm not sure how to describe it, but it was almost too savory or pungent / deep in flavor, vs sweet and a bit acidic. The tonkatsu itself was very good (4.5/5 probably), but be aware at least my portion was very thick. I'd almost say "amazing", sort of like a higher end katsu restaurant, except it was perhaps not entirely what I was expecting with the curry. If you're reading this and want a nice tonkatsu though, I'd give this place a try at least. My other issue (again, this is a pretty critical review I realize) was the rice wasn't super great in my opinion. Again, perhaps it's great for the city, or great for the price point, I unfortunately can't say yet (so again, grain of salt!), but it felt overcooked / mushy to me.

Small ramen shop located in a small mall / plaza. We wanted to switch it up after eating tacos for a week and were excited to try this place after seeing all the good reviews on Yelp and Google. We had the Yamasan Ramen. It was mediocre — flavor of soup was somewhat there but it wasn’t rich and brothy. Lots of toppings but not necessarily needed or a good complement to the ramen (i.e. cole slaw). The pork was not charred or flavorful. In fact, one of my pieces was cold. Good attempt on ramen but I wouldn’t recommend.

We ordered the chinese hot and spicy ramen and we don't recommend it unless you want a ramen with the taste of mole, their spicy isn't spicy at all; the service isn't slow but we had about three different waitresses leaving us and forgetting what I asked for. I will not come back and don't recommend this place. For being ramen their specialty and not doing it right.. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

We knew the place was going to be good due to people queuing to get a table, around 3 pm in the afternoon. I ordered Boshu Kakuni ramen and my wife ordered Chinese Hot & Spicy ramen. The fried chicken wings was very fresh, crunchy Ellet soft and spicy. The huge lump of pork belly was so tender and sweet. My wife also love the flavour of the soup. The waitresses were attentive and quick. We’d happily go there again next time.

The Yamesan ramen is worth getting. Could use a little more flavor in the broth, and if I got it again I would sub out the meat it comes with for pork belly instead. We had a different ramen (Kakuni) with pork belly and the meat was so tender and so much better. The Kakuni Ramen had a lot more flavor in the broth, almost too intense in fact. But the pork belly was divine. Noodles were standard.

While the Ramen didn't taste like genuine ramen, there was a gentleman who spoke English and took our orders, which was nice for a change since it's been quite hard to communicate in the city not knowing a lot of Spanish. We also found their prices to be on the higher side, comparable to the restaurants at the airport.

Pretty good ramen. Try the house special or the spicy broth one, those two are my favorite. For appetizers definitely order the pork belly, it is well cooked, tender, and full of flavor. You can skip out on the ginger cocktail, it lacks flavor, but it does cool you down with the lemon and ginger. Cold beer is a most with Ramen, but be aware that the beer is almost as expensive as the Ramen. I'm sure importing them cost a lot of money. Don't forget to add a Tamago as a side to your ramen.

Food is good and good portion sizes. Service is pretty fast to serve but then they take their time for the check. Sometimes it can get pretty crowded and noisy.

I’d say good vegetarian ramen is not the easiest to find in CDMX, but Yamasan Ramen House’s Vegetarian Ramen is not too shabby! It’s quite flavorful and has a couple of ingredients like corn, tofu pocket, seaweed, bamboo shoots, fried garlic, cabbage, carrot, scallions, and white sesame seeds. The soup can get a tiny bit salty, but otherwise I really enjoyed the ramen. The portion size was nice and I’d say for the price of around 190 pesos, I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Small place, a little overpriced but with great flavors, great service, very traditional dishes, toppings and beverages, however we waited over an hour to get in, i can't decided if it was worth the wait. But if it wasn't overcrowded, it would have been really good.

Friendly place, they greet you and thank you all together like a chant. That part reminded me of Chick-fil-A 🤣 The ramen was great. They won't seat you until your entire group is there so although it looks like a mile-long line, it should only be a 20-minute wait. I saw that they were part of at least 2 Japanese groups which use a certain percentage of Japanese items and are in the business of sharing the culture. Don't miss it!

Second time coming here especially for ramen. Great flavor and smiley staff. I feel very comfortable there enjoying the food. The mango and taro ice cream is amazing too. Thank you!

As a vegetarian this is my favorite Ramen spot. There is just one vegetarian ramen option but it's delicious. There are few tables so you must wait 25 min get in. I recommend to arrive before 2:00pm. The drinks are ok, I would suggest to order a calpico and then a hot sake 🍶. The waiters are nice but they sometimes are a bit slow bringing the check.

If you've had good ramen before, I wouldn't recommend here. I got karage sweet & sour and yamasan ramen. Chicken was really tough and hard to chew. Ramen was so so.
