Though there were several empty tables, customers were massed at entrance waiting for a waitress. The waitresses we're there, but they were marching to a different drum. I have never seen so much disinterest in a wait staff. I cannot imagine how terrible the food was. I won't be back.

Stopped in for lunch with my daughter! Kids menu is priced pretty good. $4.99 for kids size full plate with $1.49 to add the drink. The menu has breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Could be a litte cleaner, but overall the waitress was polite and there was no wait to be seated.

I was greeted and asked if its for dine in or To-go. The Waitress was polite and asked 4 my drink and if I needed a few minutes. The Booth was Clean & didn't see a mess where I was Seated which made me feel good. They gave me Crayon's 🖍️ upon Request 4 the little one I ordered a Breakfast Platter with doubleberry 🥞 and she seemed knowledgeable. My Turkey Bacon was semi tough, The Food was Decent for what I Paid. I might not get the Orange Juice but Apple instead next time. I waited 14 min which was alright. I appreciated that she came back to check on me a few times 2 see how I was doing the eggs were cooked as I requested. I had a Plesent experience and left a good tip 4 the Waitress.

I had a great experience. My food was hot and i enjoyed it. I had the tbone and eggs and it was cooked to perfection. My server Tia was very pleasant even tho she was busy. The staff worked well together even with the manager cooking and helping out. After she got a chance the manager Redd came over to ensure we enjoyed our visit. This industry is not easy but i have absolutely no complaints. They did amazing being short staffed. I will return. Good job guys.

If you're looking for a delicious warm meal look elsewhere. I ordered ice tea and it was dark and cloudy and very bitter. I asked for a water to dilute it and it took the waitress 30 minutes to bring me a glass of water. We ordered appetizers and told the waitresses when we ordered that we wanted them before the main meals and they came with the meals, they were cold. The food took about 45 minutes to come out and two plates were cold. Guest who arrived after us got their food, paid, and left before we even got our food. I will never bring my family to this establishment again, it was horrible.

Went to Denny's in Colonial Heights Virginia around midnight. We arrived and was greeted by a nice gentleman. I believe his name was Aaron neither to say he was the only one working he did a fabulous job from greeting us setting us at a table and cooking our meal there were other patrons in there as well. I'm out his enthusiasm, he was very professional. I say five stars to Aaron for being the employee he is he definitely needs a raise. I have food was delicious. He definitely needs recognition.

Very small yet cozy. Very busy and had to wait a little bit. Food was pretty decent. Service was pleasant

I was visiting Virginia & staying near by this Denny's. The breakfast omelette with prime rib was delicious. I saw on the menu the pot roast meal that was calling my attention but because it was breakfast time, I wasn't allowed to order it. So I came back to order it a little after 5pm & they were closed until 5:30pm. I was so disappointed. I was hungry & didn't want to wait especially since I had walked to the Denny's & it was hot outside. Where I'm from GA, there are very few & not near me. Maybe next time if I find myself in Virginia again, you'll still have the pot roast. To reply to the owner, you were closed on Saturday June 3rd@5:05pm. I pulled at the front doors, they wouldn't open & there was a sign on the door saying you were closed & would reopen @5:30pm. Also, I asked the server Tia C at breakfast time if I could order the pot roast & she told me no. So I know what I saw & I know what I asked for.

After a long night of work I wanted to grab sum breakfast before I headed home. Hadn't had dennys in a long time so I decided to stop by and dine in. Lady greets me and then took me to my table. She asked what type of beverage and I said coke. After sitting for about 5mins I still never received my drink or did she come back to my table. I did observe her seating a family of a different nationality and also went and grab there drinks. I'm usually not one to scream racism however in this case I don't know what else to think. Long story short I left and will never visit this establishment again. I will rather take my business and my hard earned money else where I feel appreciated and treated equally.

Late night stop after arriving late in the evening. Place was not busy. Were greeted at the door but service was a little slow taking our order after getting menus & checking out. Food was good, though.

Every time I've visited location 8100 I've had a wonderful experience and today was no different. Great food, great service, and great people. Andrea is always friendly and inviting when she serves us. We come here almost every week now.

Had the best experience here. We were greeted with a smile, and spoken to as soon as we walked through the door, and then greeted with a smile and a happy server when we sat down to order our food. Very pleased. Ask For Andrea to be your waitress. She rocks!

I love this Denny's as it always serves our veterans, of which i am one with special service, attention and the military discount. This time it was even more special when the master chef, Daniel, came out to ask me personally how I wanted my eggs 🥚 prepared and if american cheese 🧀 was OK. I thanked him for his above and beyond service.

Came in around 6:40 on a Sunday evening with a friend. Approaching the building I noted there were two tables already dining and that the waitress was in the kitchen. She peered at my friend and I as we entered and I headed to the restroom while my friend waited to be seated. There were only two parties in the restaurant, a total of three people dining in, so I figured this would be a nice quiet dinner for us. I used the restroom and headed back about 2 minutes after parting with my friend. I was surprised to see she was still waiting to be seated, so I instead waited while she used the restroom. I inquired if anyone was there with a few "Hellos" and finally the waitress appeared. She was getting off the phone and seemed in an agitated state. Finally I came into her line of vision and I told her I needed a table for the two of us. The menus she placed on the table appeared as if they hadn't been cleaned in a week, littered with smeared fingerprints and what I'm hoping was jelly from a breakfast goer who placed too much on their biscuit. My friend came out of the restroom and sat opposite me, facing the entrance. We looked over the menu and selected what we wanted and then began the wait. During the next fifteen minutes, we sat and observed two interactions with a direct to-your-door service who had no issues gaining attention from the waitress, as well as the cook. We gathered that there was an issue with the credit card processing machine and so the waitress was dealing with the company via her cell phone. Finally I got to that point of agitation where my patience was too thin to finally have to speak to her and maintain a pleasant demeanor, so we stood up and walked out. As we approached the door, the waitress says that she was just about to come over us when we were leaving. I didn't take the opportunity to respond, but now that I've made my way over to a competitor's restaurant and have been served within less time than it took to write this review, allow me to reply: We didn't leave because of the length of time it took to be seated, or even while sat. We left because you couldn't take a second of your time to explain why your phone call (and apparently pick-up orders) were more important than us. Even when your cook came to the front, you didn't so much as look our way. You didn't make any effort at all to speak with us, much less serve us dinner. A canned response claiming lack of service staff is wholly inadequate at explaining away a lack of interest in serving the customers you do have. Based on the state of your restaurant and remaining staff, it won't be long before there will be no customers left at all. I will not be entertaining the idea of coming back to this restaurant without a complete overhaul of the staff, the cleanliness of the restaurant, and better customer service.

Aarons cooking is everything!! Tasted like home. Our food was cooked to perfection!! Big fluffy pancakes yum! He even heated up my syrup!! Denny hire more employees like him and your establishment will be filled to the hilt!!

Places an order over the phone for pickup. Was told 15 minutes, so I waited the 15 minutes before showing. Then proceeded to wait another 18 minutes in person. Saw that my pancakes were ready and sitting, so I got pancakes that had been sitting for 20 minutes and the rest of my food fresh.

My wife and I just stopped here to have a quick breakfast on our trip to New Jersey. After not being greeted for 5 minutes my wife was completely ignored by the brown haired woman cooking when she tried to ask her twice if there was anyone working the front. I had to literally yell excuse me to get her to acknowledge us and all she was no and turned back around. This place was filthy and we were pretty disappointed at the lack of courtesy. Thanks for the awesome experience!

Unacceptable. How do you let a burnt pancake leave your expo line and hand it to DoorDash. The bacon doesn't even look like full sized pieces. I just attempted to call the location. No one answered and the line disconnected itself. Would you eat this?

This particular location SUCKS! Ordered Lumberjack Slam with everything except eggs. Food was cold when brought out a little at the time. Had to remind the server multiple times to bring out my sausage links. Hash browns were under cooked. Had to ask for my toast minimum two times. Bacon seemed like it's been sitting for a few hours. Pancakes were supposed to be blueberry but they were regular. When she brought the blueberry ones out, they were not done. Nothing but gooeyness inside. That was the last straw. Told the waitress that I was only paying for what my kids ate which was the kids menu pancakes and bananas, and the Jr confetti pancakes and two glasses of water. Their mom's food was wrong from the gate as well. I refused to pay for the adult food. The waitress gathered up the plates that were virtually untouched other than moving the food around in observation to take back to the kitchen. The manager comes up front and still tried to charge me 40 something for everything. I told him I'm only paying for my kids food. He turned around and charged me a Lil over 24 for just the few items from the kids menu. Once again I had to enforce I'm only paying for what my kids ate. He tried to act like the waitress didn't show him the 2 plates that came back untouched. Finally he got some act right and only charged me a Lil over 12. Will never in life come back to the colonial heights.

The restaurant is dirty and disgusting. Workers (even though they're under a lot of stress & probably under paid), it shows on their faces and the way they talk to customers. I would not recommend. And after my experience, I don't want to go to any other Denny's in America. Order: 4 pancakes (only received 3 burnt pancakes and there was a plastic tag inside the foil plate with them) I brought the cakes back to make a complaint. They fixed the order and made 4 new pancakes but they didn't taste that great and I had to wait about 30 minutes to get them remade, which sucked because the first order took just as long to make. (So basically an hour+ for 4 pancakes...😒)

The first time I was at this restaurant was in late October, 2022. Myself, my 75 year old mom, my boyfriend, and my 16-year-old daughter drove from Minnesota to North Carolina for my son’s graduation from basic training at Fort Jackson. Afterwards, we were able to drive him up to Fort Lee where he was going to begin his advanced individual training. It had been a long day and we were all tired but needed to eat. We stopped at this Denny’s. There were maybe seven or eight tables full, but only one server on. We settled in for what we thought was going to be a less than stellar experience, but boy where we were wrong! AK had everything completely under control. She gave us excellent service, including plenty of refills on drinks and checking in to be sure we were doing OK. The food was also absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, hot, and really hit the spot. Despite being the only server on, she was also seating people and busing tables. I don’t know how she did at all, but she did! We were so impressed with her that we left her a generous tip. As we were heading out to our car, she came outside to give us a very warm thank you. It made our day! Today I flew in to Richmond to come back to Fort Lee to attend my son’s graduation from AIT. I made a conscious decision to go back to this Denny’s because of our excellent experience the last time. Today was different… It was very quiet in the restaurant and there were plenty of employees. I was happy to see AK working and she again provided excellent service with a smile. And again the food was great (today was a club sandwich that looked even better than the picture on the menu!) I asked to speak to the manager before I left just to let her know that I came back here today specifically because of our last experience. Her response was lovely… She wanted to make sure that AK got the recognition that she deserved. Not herself as the manager, not the restaurant in general, but the specific employee who made our experience excellent. I know that Denny’s is usually not the place where you expect a stellar experience, but this little gem tucked in between retail shops and some warehouse type properties provides just that.

I loved the restaurant the minute I saw it. The inside was just as swell with nice comfy booths. I had the Philly cheese omelette, filled with peppers and onions and mushrooms the meat was great. Brought my hash browns home too much to eat. My server was excellent, great customer service.

After a basketball game, we chose Denny's because most places were crowded. The food was good. The service was exceptional. My husband and my brother also thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.

I would not recommend this place; I'm not a clean freak, but the place looks/is dirty. The restroom has a black film on the urinal 🤢; the floors need bleach. The silverware looked suspect; it's better to ask for plasticware. How can you serve breakfast & be out of coffee? The coffee they have is burnt. It seems like no one takes ownership or pride in this place. I came here once before, about six mo ago. The service back then was mediocre, and I reserved judgment then, but now I can honestly say, "Don't Waste Your Time Here." This Denny's needs to clean/disinfect & hire more/better staff to run the place. I don't blame the waitress, the fault lies with management.

The waiting area smells like pee. The food is terrible. The only good thing about this place is the people that work there. I feel kinda bad they have to work in that run down restaurant. Dennys has fell off badly. They should be sued for false advertisement. Nothing on the menu is what you actually get, nothing. All the dessert are just refrigerated things you can buy at Walmart. I literally watched them pull my cheese cake out the box. Don’t waste your time.

Meal was well-cooked and waitress was very pleasant. However, their soup-of-the-day choices were not available and I was informed that they had not been available for a while also strawberry bites, another pictured menu item wasn't available. This Denny's is also located behind more prominent restaurants and in front of warehouses, not the most appealing views.

  • 5/5 Kasey T. 1 year ago on Google
This Denny's location is always great. It's clean, the service is pretty quick, and the staff are so kind and courteous. If they make a mistake with your order they are quick to fix it. I'm never disappointed when I come here.

I tried this Denny's again and was disappointed. Ordered the double berry banana pancakes and they were a soggy mess. Looks like they used frozen strawberries that thawed into a soupy glop. I would have sent them back, but it took so long to get a table and even longer to get our food, I just opted to keep quiet. This place is chaotic and unorganized. While we were waiting for our table, a customer complained to the mgr about not getting a replacement for food he returned. A party of 8 seated before we were did not receive their food until we were nearly finished eating. I know help is hard to find, but this place is crazy. This place has gone down hill. The pancakes looked and tasted like the frozen kind you get at the grocery store. They were super thin and not fluffy. Denny's used to have the best pancakes that actually tasted like yellow cake, but that was not the case on my last visit on Oct 8, 2022. I ordered the bacon extra crispy and got it with crispy edges on the short edge and what looked like raw in the middle. I was very disappointed.

The assigned Waitress was prompt and courteous. My family and I enjoyed our foods. You guys great foods really made our day for a short days visit. Keep up the good work 👍

Absolute worst Dennys ever. The ENTIRE restaurant was filthy, bathrooms included. You don't expect too much when you go to a Denny's, let's be honest. But the whole place was filthy, had to go ask for water after waiting over 15 minutes (mind you, there were only 4 customers). The lack of care in this place is astounding! It's a really cool, classic looking restaurant! Take care of it, and your customers. Our server was a very polite and nice guy, which is the only reason this place didn't get a one star.

The restaurant is crummy. In the summer the ceiling drips from condensation from the ac or something. It is very olden. The waitress was nice, but had to get orders, make food, and serve. There was nearly no time to clean. It needs help!

  • 1/5 Tina P. 1 year ago on Google
Absolute horrible visit. We were seated by a hostess who never spoke 1 word like hello or how are you, slammed down our menus and walked off. She served 2 other tables drinks that she seated after us. No waitress identified themselves as our waitress. It was not busy, only half the tables were full. We left and will not return 👎

  • 5/5 Ron B. 2 years ago on Google
Was thoroughly impressed. They were clearly understaffed, yet managed to provide prompt and courteous service. Enjoyed my meal, but to be honest I enjoyed the old fashioned work ethic displayed even more.

First and foremost; I have to give recognition to Carla bc she was responsible for multiple roles as they are short staffed. She was a Server & Chef. Dennys Breakfast was Delicious; however, it was difficult to eat calm due to the scent in the restaurant. The bathroom needs improvement and cleanliness especially as the Pandemic stressed the importance of maintaining disinfectant areas. Thank you Carla for your attentiveness.

  • 5/5 James S. 2 years ago on Google
Salmon tastes good. Bacon burgers or pancakes seem to be another good pick. I saw more ordering for pickup than actual customers inside but it is good to know they adapt. Many restaurants did not survive pandemic restrictions.
