Great location, the sites were roomy and easily fit our 35ft fifthwheel. My kiddos loved the playground and all the farm animals walking around (Dave's petting zoo) especially Rex the goat that thinks he's a dog! Friendly staff.

The best KOS we’ve ever stayed at! The staff was constantly working to keep the park looking beautiful! Everyone was so friendly & accommodating. The views were magnificent & the free roaming animals were such a treat! We have a 44ft fifth that we tow with a 22ft truck, we had zero issues getting in and out, our pull through spot was huge!

If you have the chance to stay here… DO! my daughter said this was the highlight of our southern Colorado trip. It’s a special property, especially fun for kids. The playground is excellent, especially for kiddos who love sand and trucks! There’s farm animals roaming around - ponies, sheep, pigs. It’s really fun. It was very relaxing.

First time we have stayed here and the people were awesome. Nice location just a little tight for big rigs but it is doable with a little finnegaling. I had a 40' + 16' trailer .

A good KOA. Stayed in the small but adequate A frame huts. Not particulatly well situated with a large uneven stoney field between huts and ablution facilities which are quite a long way away. The hut was clean but the fire pit and surrounds had a bit of litter from previous residents. Ablution facilities were adequate, some maintenance is needed in the mens bathroom as there is a dangerous open drain on the floor. Staff were exceptionally helpful when we called to change from a tent site to A frame hut as it was raining. There is also a very friendly donkey who came to visit which was fun. Thanks guys.

Very clean and cute KOA. Stayed here twice, 4 stars because the showers were cold, wouldn’t get hot. Faucets are leaky and broken so had to wait in line to wash your hands because there were a lot of people there when we stayed and some sinks weren’t functioning. Overal positive experience here, cabins were clean and outdoor area well kept.

Nice well maintained Campground. Friendly staff. Nice level spot on grass. The place is a bit of a farm with goats and donkeys wandering around. Two of the donkeys keep me company for my morning coffee. Close to town and not on the highway. There is an occasional plane landing on the adjacent airport during the day

I gave it a 3 for service because of the mud. The people were very nice and helpful but the mud from watering was a problem. When we arrived it had been dry. Our camp spot was grass and there was a sprinkler running and flooding the whole spot. Our camper made ruts getting in. We had to set up in the mud. They do have gravel pads on some spots but those seem to be for the regulars. I know they’re proud of their grass but we would prefer a nice dry gravel or asphalt pad.

We have stayed here twice, most recently for 2 weeks in one of the extra large sites. The park is clean and pride of ownership is evident. The grass is in fact epic! Especially compared to the typical gravel. My kids loved biking around and petting all the animals. Beautiful views of Hartman Rocks, and we easily walked to the river park and biked into town. Great amenities for tent campers as well. Can't wait to come back!

This is one of the marquis KOAs for a reason. Staff are great, restaurant is pretty good, sites are large and well spaced, the store is very well stocked, and the proximity to amazing hikes can't be beat.

Stayed one night in a cabin. This is a great location to easily access Crested Butte. The staff at the KOA are very welcoming and hospitable. We look forward to staying here again.

Feedback for the managers/owners: there needs to be a barrier and foot-traffic path from the cabins to the office. We were in site #40, and there was a constant stream of people (especially kids) through our camp site. At one point even a truck drove right through another camper’s site going from the cabins to the loop road. We love the campground but this definitely dampened our enjoyment.

TENT camping! Read on. Just completed 3 nights tent-camping in my first KOA experience. This is a great campground. Bathrooms/showers are quite clean, they have wifi everywhere (in your tent), dishwashing area, games room, laundry, a good store, etc. The tent sites are narrow and close by to one another. But we had tent site #A which is a corner site of double-width. I recommend calling and asking for site A or Y, if possible. Mosquitos are abundant at dusk so I highly recommend some type of bug shelter to keep your sanity. Ear plugs are essential due to noise from other campers and the nearby airport — I slept well with them in. The town, with grocery stores, Walmart, and pretty good restaurants, is a mere 5 minute drive. Overall a good experience, would return.

The KOA in Gunnison is amazing. The livestock, the location, and the overall customer service. I'm a local and was between housing, they took good care of me. Susie and Dave are awesome. They will accommodate you as much as they can per policy. I haven't had such a good experience in a long time. Don't pass this place up. - Daniel Scheuermann

We just had another wonderful stay at Gunnison KOA. We have been coming since 2019 because it's always a great experience. All the farm animals are adorable. Green grass to relax on. Spotless modern restrooms & showers with nice hot water. It's great to see an owner who takes pride in his campground & enjoys seeing Happy Campers.! We will return again & again!

Great campground. Actually one of my favorite I've ever stayed at. The animals were a pleasant surprise

Be careful of what spot you pick! Half of them pack you in like a sardine. There was 5' between us and campers on both sides. There have farm animals running all over, if you have dogs, you in for a time! They were half occupied and I asked to be moved next to them and they all but panicked and wouldn't do anything. I don't think the owners are on site and the employees there don't care!

Such a great KOA, probably my favorite in all our travels. Far off highway 50 making it quiet. Lots of well groomed grass, level sites. Views of the surrounding mountains. Sites spaced nicely. Verizon signal good. WiFi pretty good. There are goats, donkeys, miniature horses, pigs…. !! Fun place. Lots of shade. Gunnison itself is a really cute town.

This is a lovely place. Management is incredibly helpful, everything is clean and well cared for. We stayed in a cabin. The collection of friendly animals on thengrounds (goats, sheep, miniature ponies and donkeys) were the icing on the cake. Convenient to the downtown of Gunnison.

Great experience in the camping cabin. Clean, well maintained, great bathroom facilities with lots of hot water. We had stayed here in 2019 in a tent site and remember feeling a bit crowded, especially when the tent neighbors had a loud argument. But no concerns regarding the facilities either time.

Beautiful campground in a great location. Plenty of trees for shade. A lot of amenities for the kids and pets including a playground, tetherball, an off leash dog area and farm animals to pet and play. Really nice bath and shower facilities. Super nice staff. Access to all the outdoor activities you could want and grocery/gas within a mile or two. It was perfect!

This campground was just outside of Gunnison, CO next to a small airport. Super clean bathhouse/restrooms. Great site and hookups for all kinds of campers, tents, etc. Friendly staff. Some wandering small farm animals like donkeys and goats that were amusing and friendly for petting. A great spot to stay and launch day trips to town, neighboring towns like Crested Butte, national parks, etc.

If you are a tent camper, do not stay here. It is a well managed campground that caters to RVs. The RVs are crammed together. Only a handful of the tent sites have shade. They are right next to the Gunnison airport and tent sites are located along their fenced boundary next to a wetland, with cows on the other side. You can imagine the smell and the insects. If you are in an RV, expect it to be crowded. Nice people, not worth the money.

Great stay at an awesome cabin. The area has all the amenities you could need and lots of animals to pet and play with. If you get a cabin you have a picnic table, grill, fireplace, porch swing, heat, electricity and,WiFi,1 bed and 4bunks and it was plenty of space. We will definitely be back

Hard to add anything new that others have not already said. We did noticed that there is big expansion project going on here which will add many more campsites. They need to! this place is very popular and well liked and more spaces means more people can have great KOA experience. We liked this place so much we came back a few days later for unplanned additional stay. We stayed here September 23rd 2021. We leave you some pictures of the donkeys which I not know any other KOA has.

Clean, friendly, and fun. Even my husband and I (as adults) enjoyed all the animals. The staff was kind and helpful and we loved taking the short drive to Crested Butte. We planned to stay here only one night and ended up extending to three nights.

Excellent campground with very clean amenities and a bunch of fun barnyard animals. The ubiquitous wifi was very helpful as I took some meetings in the morning and was able to charge my laptop and watch a movie at night. I also appreciated their outdoor kitchen so that I didn't have to break out my stove to make coffee in the morning. There's also a small pond within walking distance (not on the property) that has great fishing!

This is a very well maintained and family friendly camp ground. It has a water feature that is relaxing and some water that flows around the property making nice gurgling sounds. It was very buggy, DEET required! The other campers were very respectful and everyone kept their dogs leashed. There is a “pet walk” area that is fenced and my dog enjoyed running there!

Had such an amazing time here. The donkeys were the highlight of my camping trip. It was so fun being able to pet them and brush their hair! My son also loved the game room and the sandbox. He had a blast and is always asking to go back. We will definitely be making this a regular summer camping spot for us!
