This
area
is
an
immersive
experience
with
a
towering
rock
wall
and
vibrant
colors
during
the
month
of
October.
You
can
get
to
Big
Lyons
falls
by
following
the
Lyons
Falls
trailhead
(starting
at
the
Mohican
Bridge
or
Pleasant
Hill
Dam).
If
you
start
your
journey
at
Mohican
Bridge,
you
walk
along
a
gorge
that
was
in
the
path
of
a
recent
tornado.
Several
huge
trees
were
toppled
and
you
can
see
the
cavity
where
the
roots
were
buried.
The
park
crew
did
an
excellent
job
clearing
the
trails.
And,
just
before
reaching
the
falls,
there
is
a
picturesque
spot
along
the
Mohican
River
that
has
some
wondrous
colors.
If
you
start
the
trail
at
the
Pleasant
Hill
Dam,
you’ll
wind
through
a
pine
forest
that
leads
up
to
the
Little
Lyons
Falls
first.
Not
as
many
fall
colors
in
this
part
of
the
trail.
This
area
is
dog
friendly.
