Pumped to be back in Columbus and try one of my old favorite drinking spots, my brother and sister-in-law decided to grab a bite after the crew game, but we were all disappointed with the food, unfortunately. Service was very good and the beer was tasty, but I got the fish and chips and it tasted like the fish had been pulled straight from a box in the freezer and dropped right into hot oil - some of the toughest fish I have ever eaten. It came with fries and they were pretty good; however, the pot stickers were dry and did not have the flavor I would expect, and the poutine needed more cheese curds and gravy was devoid of flavor (perhaps been sitting out and re-heated). Love the vibe and location of this establishment though and would like to give it another try in the future, at least to grab a brew!

This place is really nice. It used to be an old billiard hall in the 1800’s and now is supposedly haunted. The exterior drew me in, the interior blew me away, and the food was good. My only complaints were the early close time which can’t be helped (9pm) and I was going to order a ribeye but they were out and didn’t tell the bartender beforehand so I had the Cajun Chicken Penne instead with a Jameson and ginger ale. The bartender, Katie, was super kind and helpful. I’m going to go back to try their poutine.

Immediately loses a Star for not having WiFi. Loses a Star for not offering beer flights. Nice atmosphere. Room/building has a lot of history. Had the Shrimp & Grits, very tasty. However with a pint of craft beer total was $32. Wait staff was good. Bathroom clean. With so many dining & drinking choices, not need to return

Came in to The Elevator for last call and Julian raised us up like LeBron just gave Josh Groban the ball. The crew needed a drink after a long day of being on the brink, but this ship don’t stop, and this ship don’t sink. Keep up the good work sir, we’ll be back next time we’re in town. - - - - @high_morel

This is not just a brewery but it has amazing food!! Definitely a must go to place when you're in Columbus. The food is amazing and don't forget to try the cocktails on draft! So good!!! I've eaten here several times and never had a bad thing. It's all so delicious.

Only 2 of their own beers. The rest are guest taps but the selection is not bad...all Ohio locals. Had the Cajun pasta. Very good!

Stopped in for the first time for one. Neat place with good conversation and had cider on tap. Will go back when I have more time.

Great place to eat downtown. The menu is very creative, filled with lots of options and delicious flavors. My favs: Thai Beef Tenderloin Salad, Mac and Cheese, Sauerkraut Balls, Filet Medallions and the Crab Cakes. Staff is always friendly and attentive.

Food and drinks were amazing. Service was great. The only thing is do not sit by this door. The servers go in and out of this wooden door. It swings back and forth pretty vigorously and makes a loud smacking noise every time. My wife and I aren’t from here so we wanted to go on a simple date. We will return if we are in town but will definitely not request this spot!!! BEWARE 👀💀

Stunning, historical place. Beautifully preserved. It has an upscale feel but can flex to casual, like a speakeasy but more approachable. Great for everything from a post-work drink to a date night. The seltzer I had was absolutely delicious. This is a great place to take out of towners. Perfect stop before a show or a game.

Wonderful drink selection and a well rounded menu. I ordered the blackened grouper with crab cake, braised cabbage, and garlic mashed potatoes and it was really well done. Tasty and a perfect portion. I left satisfied without feeling overfull. The atmosphere is really amazing. Wood and metal and tile finishes retain the feel of the speakeasy it once was during prohibition.

This was the first place we stopped in Columbus because it was right around the corner from our hotel. The local beer selection was top-notch and the bartender (Christina, I think?) told us all about the unique history of the building, compete with mini-tour and ghost stories. We came back the next day for lunch. Recommend the bologna sandwich (seriously!) and the G&T on draft. Such friendly folks and chill place with storied (and spooky!) past.

Honestly, Elevator was the best restaurant experience I’ve had in a LONG time. The food was amazing, but Travis really made our dinner next level. 10/10 service and I cannot recommend this spot enough! #TeamTravis 😂🎉

We didn’t eat here but after reviewing the menu and seeing other guests meals, we wish we hadn’t eaten before we arrived! We stopped by on the Columbus Ale Trail for one beer. Elevator has 2 in-house beers and a wide selection of other brewery’s bests. We had the two Elevator beers, the Oktoberfest and Helles Lager—BOTH GREAT! Classics, can’t go wrong. Also featured Three Floyd’s Gumball Head, a favorite of mine. Our bartender, Julian, was so friendly and informative. He told us the history of the bar, which was built before prohibition and served as a multitude of hot spots for Columbus. There’s stained glass from the 1920’s. Beautiful bar. Definitely an old, calm, light vibe with upbeat music and a TV for the Ohio State game!

Rock filet and asparagus were amazing, and the service was great. Personally I like my salad with a bit more dressing, and would have like to have been told there was an anchovy on the salad. I could have saved them from putting it on there.

125 year old pub. Amazing atmosphere. Huge bar from the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. Great service. Very informative bartender.

Great atmosphere, just a great overall place to be. The food was absolutely immaculate. Our grouch had tried many different dishes and they did not miss on any of them. Our waiter was the absolute best service I've had anywhere. He was fun and helpful. Couldn't have wished for a better all around guy.

I have a great time every time I go there I especially love to bring new guests that haven’t been there. Their bar has won awards for showmanship and I love the steak on a rock plate!! I’m bringing my family here tomorrow for my brothers birthday.

I like this place, it's in this really old but well maintained building. The interior looks really cool and they have a pretty good menu with a good selection of beer and cocktails. The man and cheese was pretty good, and the cauliflower were great.

Really enjoyed this place during my visit to Columbus last week. Great beer selection, vintage style decor and chill atmosphere. Definitely one of my favorite places I visited

This place is really solid. Good good and drinks-laid back. Beautiful historic bar and stained glass windows. Miss their calamari, though! Overall highly recommended

Food was very good. We went during a busy time, so it took a while to get our food and our check. But it's a beautiful building and you will enjoy yourself.

First time here and I will be back. This quaint, old restaurant is cozy and welcoming with a large menu to choose from with great beer/cocktail lists and amazing staff. I got the Mac and cheese with braised beef and this was plenty for one person!

Really enjoyed it, we got seated at a good table though, some of the tables are along a bench seat and very close together. I probably would not have liked it as much at one of those tables. Food was very very good, the short rib portion was a little small but outside of that it was all great. We also really liked our waiter, you could tell the staff were busting their butts.

Great place to stop for a beer! Bartender very knowledgeable and friendly. Great selection of draft beer, wine, and liquor. This is the second oldest bar in Columbus. We’ll be back!

I can't believe I've never visited this place before. It's a beautiful old building. Craft beer on draft, too bad that the brewery is no longer around. They did have a yummy amber ale from elevator still. Several vegan options on the menu. The staff is excellent!

Thw beauty and history of the building are just wonderful. It was recommended by the hotel as a casual, local place with good food and ambiance when I asked..and it didn't disappoint. The food was delicious and the service was great. Definitely make this a stop on your travels...maybe encounter a ghost.. ;)

The burger was not as advertised, the fries were undercooked and it took for ever to get the order in and to get the food. Atmosphere was nice and wine was great. Nice place for a drink.

One of a kind atmosphere and great food with a variety of price ranges. The beer selection was good along with the liquor if that's your thing. I'm honestly surprised I have lived here for years and never heard of this place. I think I would love to come back with a large party since they have plenty of space.

Average beer and menu had couple of beers that were not available. Food was OK, as couldn't figure why white cheddar on a Thai salad.

I stopped here very recently while in Columbus and this is definitely a very unique brewery. The historic building is incredible. We only got appetizers here but we got the Kraut Balls, Pot Stickers and Calamari and it was all very good! We had a friendly waiter as well. Definitely recommend from me!

We’ve been here several times and always had a great experience so we decided to reach out when we needed a place for our rehearsal dinner. With all the Covid restrictions we were very worried we couldn’t find a place to accommodate us. Elevator was willing to help us. We had to do 3 tables of 10 each but they put us to the back so we were relatively close to each other. They did a phenomenal job. Service was excellent and so was the food.

Great experience. Dropped in on an early Friday and bar was amazing and good beer selection. Love the stain glass, history of the bar and art. 2nd oldest bar in Columbus

Food was delicious, beers were great as well. Service was not fast for us. The only downside was homeless asking for money as we sat outside.

Extremely great food and awesome service Especially if Cassie is your server. Will be coming back for sure. Loved the environment and the food selection.

Stopped in just to try a draft and they had a good lunch crowd and the food menu looked very appealing. I had already eaten but the bartender gave me some good info on the draft selection and the beer I had was very good. It will be interesting to go back to have a meal if I am back in Columbus sometime.

Love the ambiance and decor. We stopped in on our way to Hocking Hill for a bite to eat and drink. We got two different chicken platters that were delicious. We enjoyed the beer as well.

  • 3/5 Timothy G. 1 year ago on Google
They had two of their own beers. Sold the space to new management. Not sure good or bad , but some of their beer was middle of the road. Loved the place, and service was good.

We had a 6:30 reservation and still waited 15 minutes to get a seat. Bigger groups that came in after we did got seated before us. Service was slow. Our server was nice but seem to have other priorities than us. It took over 15 minutes to get a beer and a mixed drink. The poutine was great as an appetizer. My wife's pork chops were dry and my macaroni and cheese with brisket was good.

It's been a few years since I was here, just went a few weeks back. The food was good as I remembered, although the portions seemed to be smaller. Our waitress was less than stellar: she seemed like she didn't really want to be there and when we were deliberating on drinks for maybe 10 seconds, she just left... eventually came back, and was fairly inattentive the entire night. I like this place, I hope it does well; but it seems like it's sitting on the laurels of yesteryears.

Stayed at the Courtyard around the corner from here. Had their hamburger/fries and an Amber beer. Everything was really good. The building is fantastic, they don't often make them like this anymore.

The House Salad, Blue Cheese Crusted Filet Mignon with potatoes and asparagus, and the Buckeye brownie were so good. Highly recommend trying this place.
