Went for my anniversary dinner. Was leery about going because since the pandemic service has been so bad and understaffed almost everywhere you go. I didn’t want to spend the money for Jeff Ruby to be disappointed HOWEVER this was not the case our dinning experience which consisted of more than one server was probably the best overall dinner experience I’ve ever had and worth every cent. The restaurant has an old brat pack feel, live piano music, beautiful decor and great, great, great food. Thanks for restoring faith Jeff Ruby.

Absolutely amazing! I will definitely come back. I wish I could afford to come every week! The service was great. The cocktails were very good. I got the lamb chops and the rub on them were sooooo good. My husband got the Waygu beef and was absolutely amazed. It was my husband's birthday and they brought him a special dessert 🥳

Everything about this place is top notch. The service is phenomenal the food is amazing. I had the 22 oz cowboy steak and my wife had the 14 oz steak burrow. Both were cooked perfectly. We also had the asparagus which was very delicious. Be warned that you fully pay for what you get here. It’s a very expensive but well worth it meal. If I’m ever back in Columbus I’d go again.

Jeff Ruby’s did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in the door, we had an amazing experience. The hostess was pleasant and the atmosphere was stunning. The service we had MADE OUR NIGHT. It was impeccable. Randy and David-THANK YOU! Not only were these two gentlemen professional, knowledgeable, and attentive, they took pride in their job and they love what they do. The steak, lobster, shrimp, sushi, and mac and cheese were all superb. We will definitely be back and will make sure to spread the word!

Our server was very knowledgeable and was always there when we needed her. She knew the menu by heart, fun facts about all the food and wine. She was truly incredible. I wish I could remember her name. She has the short curly dark hair. She truly was the best server we've ever had. As far as the food, exceptional. The best steak we have EVER had. (And we travel alot) The dinner sides were amazing and my husband and I shared them. We tried new drinks and we loved them. The dessert was incredible as well. The whole experience from start to finish was an A+ experience. We will most definitely be back when we are in the area.

This place reminds me of El Capricho. It doesn't matter how you like your steak done, they only serve it medium rare. I ordered a medium well steak and of course it was served medium rare. I ate the steak's perimeter and gave my family the rest. Avoid the creamed spinach it had an awful flavor, I'm not sure if it was the cheese or some spice but it was definitely not to my liking. The asparagus were cooked perfectly but underseasoned. The mushrooms were delish. Now as far as dessert, the Kentucky butter pie will wreck your life. I will return just for that and a cup of coffee. The drinks were a mite tart for my tastebuds and overpriced. The piano bar was a pleasant surprise. However the talent that evening was sub-par. We made the most of it and sang along with a few of the songs we knew. Sorry if we laughed a little when he forgot the words to a song. ( we didn't know them either). Beautiful decor and set-up, very handicap friendly. There's a ramp in the back to accommodate the elderly and handicapped. There's also an elevator to the basement for bathroom access. Be sure to go to the basement to enjoy the celebrity photo gallery. The wait staff is very friendly and trained well.

A very fancy place with great food and a big selection of drinks and wines! We tried different kind of steaks and we loved all. The Cowboy steak, dry-aged for 70 days, was the best. However, the New York strip was great too. Our waitress, Rachel, was very gentle, helpful and knowledgeable. She didn’t make you miss anything and she was very detailed in every description. The atmosphere was cozy but fancy. We felt good and we had great time. Prices are a little high, but you pay for the quality.

Simply the best steak in town. Chip the management and wait staff are all first class. This is old school, old world great service that is executed to perfection. We took friends/clients to celebrate in the newly renovated lower level and it was outstanding. Great improvement and adds even more class to an amazing place. Thank you each for all you do to make our visits memorable every time. Joe and Patty Evans

Jeff Ruby's is an absolute GEM in downtown Columbus. Fantastic high-end steakhouse with one of the most inclusive and incredible steakhouse menu's i've seen in a while. Thomas S and his crew did an incredible job! That is what I loved about this place aside from amazing food and great setting - world class SERVICE. They know how to make you feel special. Thank you for a great experience! Looking forward to seeing you again.

This is it. If you haven't eaten at a Jeff Ruby's, stop reading reviews and make a reservation now. Don't show up without one, food at this level is noticed by all and requires planning. Sushi, steak, seafood and all menu items is in the top tier including the service. Wine list is amazing, and drinks are made to dazzle. While all servers are the best here, Jordan is always our go to. Thanks Jordan!

Wow, Jordan really added to this great experience. The food was wonderful and what a beautiful atmosphere. Delicious scallops, steaks and sides were only part of what we enjoyed. A must try in Columbus.

Superb. The service that Jordan provided (Thank You!) was outstanding and the food was amazing. To say that this was a personalized experience would be an understatement. The staff spent time with my wife and I and went to great lengths to get to know us. The portions are generous. We split our meal and found it was the exact right amount. Cesar Salad, a 12 oz barrel cut, Mac and Cheese. Thank you Jordan and the entire Columbus Team. See you again soon.

Jeff Ruby’s is truly a unique Steakhouse experience. From the vibrant colors, extravagant art, and decorations inside, this restaurant captivates luxury. The wait staff is professional but personable, making your dine in experience comforting and fun. For starters we got The Godfather roll and the crab cake( highly recommend). As our main we got the Bone in hatchet for 2, cooked to absolute perfection with a delicious inside and a crispy outer layer. Sides were the Lobster mashed potatoes and Asparagus, both great choices. To end off with dessert, we got cookies and crème ice cream (some of the best i’ve ever had) and cappuccinos. This restaurant is pure quality and experience, with those in mind look no further than Jeff Ruby’s!

This was my 2nd annual birthday visit.... Not as impressed as the first visit though. My Cowboy steak and mashed potatoes weren't over the top delicious like last year. The dining area is pretty cold and drafty, leaving me to keep my heavy sweater on throughout the entire dine. The drinks from the bar were delicious... Espresso Martini and Smoked maple old fashioned👍🏽 Tiny little dessert treats provided for birthday gift though and they do have a nice loyalty rewards program should you dinner there frequently.

I think steak from anywhere else has been ruined for me 😭 This was beyond amazing. The steak? Yes. Sushi? Yes. Kids pasta? YES. Macaroni? Yes 10/10. So pleased! The staff was amazing, super tentative. 3 people asked if we needed boxes! Everyone was hands on deck and dinner ran smoothly. So very nice and accommodating to my 18 month old as well. Above and Beyond. Will for SURE be a place that we go to every time we come to Columbus. Thank you for making this birthday dinner so amazing 💕

Excellent food. The steaks were well made, and the dipping sauces (I tried the peppercorn) was excellent). Sides were good too, and for a change a place with plenty of dessert options that are house made! The service was great (shout out to our waitress Rene)

Went here for a birthday dinner with my best friend. The service was great and well decorated. Our waiter was cool. 3 stars because the food was not worth the price tag. I got the cowboy cut ribeye and asparagus , my friend ordered the New York strip and fries. We had oysters Rockefeller and the buckeye roll for appetizers. Both apps were good. The food was not seasoned enough or at all. Steaks were cooked beautifully but again, lacked seasoning and flavor.

My Husband and I went for our delayed anniversary celebration. It was an amazing experience. From the Host, Service, and of course the food. David was hands down one of the best servers ever! Knowledgeable, attentive, and personable. Can't wait to go back again. Butter cake for the win for dessert. New favorite place!

Rachel was my server and was phenomenal! Her attentiveness, attention to detail, and knowledgeable professionalism were only overshadowed by the AMAZING food and drink options at Jeff Ruby's. I had a 12 Oz lobster tail which Rachel kindly unshelled for me. I also had the 22oz. bone in steak which was absolutely cooked to perfection. Toss in sides of creamy mashed potatoes and asparagus (which were also delicious) and I was beyond full. I enjoyed The Eye of the Tiger Old Fashioned and was impressed by the smoky delivery and flavor. I actually got 2, and with the first one the smoke lasted a good 15 seconds. To further compliment Rachel, I off-handedly mentioned how the cherries in the old fashioned were an unexpected welcome touch and she brought out some additional cherries for me. I'm from Michigan so I don't get out this way that often, but next time I am I'll make sure to look out for another Jeff Ruby's! Thanks! Also bonus points as both managers on duty personally stopped by my table to make themselves known to me if I had any problems.

My first time here. Awesome steak. Server was the best of the best. Loved that I said I wanted a fruity alcoholic drink, I let him surprise me, and it ranks in the top 3 of any I’ve ever had….desserts were unbelievable.

We found this restaurant on chance using Google. One of the BEST dining experiences, and we’ve dined at many Michelin starred restaurants. Not only was the good mind blowing, the service was really standout. We started our experience with the valet who were very attentive. We were early and wanted to take a short walk. When we started in the wrong direction of the restaurant, the valet attendant made sure to let us know the restaurant was not in the direction we were headed. He was extremely kind and concerned we didn’t know where the front door was. When we checked in at the hostess stand, 10 minutes early for our reservation, they seated us immediately. They also sat us in a cozy booth even though we made our reservation last minute. Bailey came to the table first within a minute of us being sat. He introduced himself and asked us about ordering our water service. Immediately, we noticed his personality was warm and inviting. He said we was assisting Jeremy for the evening. Turns out Bailey was so impressionable throughout the evening, he completely elevated our experience. He was so impressionable we had to know more about his story and it turns out he was alumni of TBITL. My husband is as well and I had to grab a pic to commemorate two band alumni! Jeremy was the ultimate professional - attentive, kind and efficient. On the way out, I spoke to the manager, David to pay a compliment about our experience. He took the time to go get his card from his office and expressed gratitude for the positive feedback. Ordered: Scallops appetizer, Steak Rossini, Barrel cut filet, shishito peppers and mushrooms. An all around great dining experience and top 3! Thank you all for a great evening experience!

We dined here tonight and Nicholas K. was our server. I do not often leave reviews, but his service was nothing short of perfect. Very attentive, very friendly, and definitely made our visit enjoyable. Don't even get me started on how fantastic and delicious the food is. This place is a class act!

Came to celebrate me and my spouses first anniversary and the experience was incredible! I went all out and got the Japanese Wagyu ribeye which was perfect and my spouse got the shrimp and steak. Our server Thomas as well as the rest of the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food is a bit expensive but it's worth every penny in my opinion.

I went to Jeff Ruby’s for the first time for an early dinner this past Saturday and I was blown away. Amazing service, great ambiance, and the best steak I’ve ever had. I had the Steak Burrow, a 14 oz strip steak with a creole crawfish sauce. I had it prepared medium rare and it came out just right. Honestly, the steak itself was so flavorful the sauce was almost unnecessary, but it was also very good! Aside from the steak, I had a vodka martini that was mixed perfectly, the brandy maple glazed Brussels sprouts, and the baked macaroni and cheese. The Brussels sprouts are a must if you like em - seriously, they were slightly blackened and crispy, and so good with that glaze. The mac and cheese was also fantastic. Very creamy and the crust on top really made it. The staff were friendly and really try to get to know you. They’re also extremely knowledgeable of the menu and can help you out if you need info on steak cuts or any of the other dishes. Jeff Ruby’s will be a staple for me anytime I’m in Columbus moving forward!

Love the place. A little pricey but worth it. Service is great. Each wait staff speaks to you & floor managers are always around & will jump in when needed. My son's steak well done, not the way he asked for it, and when he said he would eat it anyway, they were nice enough to take it off check! Amazing these days!

So I loved the hash browns! Best thing on the menu! I ordered the salmon, hash browns, and grilled asparagus. Again, the hash browns; for me; was 👏🏽. The salmon was cooked perfectly but the seasonings weren't apparent. Others ordered the steaks and mac & cheese and weren't thrilled about either. Presentation was nice but flavors were lax. Took 30 minutes to receive our bills due to continued confusion 😕🙄. The "BUS-LADIES" were the most enjoyable interactions the entire time! Sales pitch/back story to the "newbies" was long winded and put into play a certain standard that we all expected. Again the "BUS-LADIES" were the most enjoyable interactions the entire time! 🤵‍♀️🤵🏻‍♀️🤵🏼‍♀️🤵🏽‍♀️🤵🏾‍♀️🤵🏿‍♀️

OMG. What a wonderful experience. This was our first time at this restaurant and celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary. When i made reservations i asked for the bar at the piano but we enjoyed the cozy booth better. We were greeted and seated warmly. Our waiter Jordan was very friendly. The food was hot and delicious and the presentation was pretty. We ask jordan to talk to the piano player about a song request. He delivered. Dan came to our table and thanked us for the applause. My husband and i were indecisive about a dessert so jordan made us something special. We really enjoyed our night

Phenomenal steakhouse with a couple of very well aged steaks on the menu. The 70 day aged ribeye knocked our socks off, and the lobster mac and cheese was easily the best I've ever had.

Our server was very knowledgeable and we were never waiting long for a drink or our food. The restaurant has a jazz club theme with crystal and ruby chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. We ordered the crab cake appetizer and the Freddie salad. We split the salad between 2 people, the portion split in half was still huge! They give you complimentary bread with truffle butter and regular butter. Then for the main course we ordered the Steak Collinsworth and split a side of macaroni and cheese. The macaroni and cheese has a thick crunchy cheese topping and 6 cheeses in the sauce, very rich and flavorful. The portions were big and we had lots of leftover food. They package your leftovers in a reusable containers and place them in a reusable fabric tote.

A friend decided to take us out for dinner. We decided on the boneless ribeye steak with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Topped the evening with a delicious butter pie and Woodford chocolate cake. It is well decorated with beautiful chandeliers and the downstairs has photos of famous people.

My dining experience at Jeff Ruby's was nothing short of extraordinary, largely thanks to our exceptional server, Rachel. From the moment my friend and I walked through the door, Rachel's warm and welcoming demeanor set the tone for the evening. Rachel's expertise was immediately evident as she guided us through the menu, offering insightful recommendations tailored to our preferences. Her extensive knowledge of the dishes, including detailed explanations of ingredients enhanced our dining experience. Throughout the meal, Rachel displayed impeccable timing, ensuring that each course was served at the perfect moment. She not only provided exceptional service but she also engaged with us on a personal level, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. I wholeheartedly recommend Jeff Ruby's to anyone seeking an exceptional culinary journey, enhanced by the outstanding service of their remarkable staff. I am looking forward to my next visit!

My filet mignon with blue cheese was done to perfection. I ordered it medium and the steak knife fell through the steak with a slight sawing motion with no pressure added. The staff was very friendly and attentive, including the manager who visited our table several times making sure everything was good. He recommended the butter pie which was one of the most incredible desserts I've ever eaten in my entire life. The fries were perfection and lots of them.

  • 2/5 Edward M. 7 months ago on Google
Service was terrific and they were really trying. Atmosphere is unique and fun. The manager and the head Chef should pay attention to the kitchen and methods, and have a meeting, because the food was so salty it was, sadly for the money, essentially inedible. Had a sushi roll that was amazing. Sides and dinner items were saturated with salt. Disappointing for the money we spent.

We booked The Buckeye Room for a private birthday event and had an amazing evening. Not only were the food and service first class, but the OSU-themed room itself made the whole night so much more memorable. Our party of 12 got there early and had cocktails at the bar and were happily escorted to our table well ahead of our reservation. Everyone on the staff was attentive and professional; especially our server Michael. He paced the night just right and somehow kept everything organized. I highly recommend this Jeff Ruby's location for business meetings, personal dining, or for private events like ours. We had a wonderful time and would gladly return again!

This was our first time at Jeff Ruby's. We came to celebrate our 23rd anniversary. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and escorted to our table. We were met by our server, Jordan. He was helpful and provided us with inciteful information in regards to the menu. He suggested multiple items and broke down the nuances of items. He answered our questions and made our dining experience one to remember. I've always said a wait staff can make or break your overall meal. Jordan was top-notch. Now as for the food. We started with Waygu Meatballs that were outstanding. (Highly recommend) As for our main course, I chose the Lobster Burrow. Even in a restaurant, I had to represent my beloved Bengals. The steak was cooked to perfection along with a hearty lobster tail. As a side, we opted for the award winning Mac and cheese. We were impressed with the flavor and overall creaminess of the Mac and cheese. My wife opted to go with Colinsworth. She enjoyed the flavor of the steak and asparagus. We then received a treat for our 23rd anniversary, a little sampler of the butter pie and a cookie. We decided to get the dark chocolate brownie with the house made ice cream with rich and creamy. Our overall experience was made to make us feel special. If you have a couple of extra bucks, I highly recommend this restaurant as it hits on all the notes.

Wow!! What an incredible evening filled with dining, sweet treats, and memories celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary!! Our special place has been Jeff Ruby's since our 1 year anniversary....which is an anniversary all on its own!! This was our first time to Columbus, and we will be back♡♡♡ Our server, Jaimie was a complete delight and gave us the best experience either one of us have had- EVER. I cannot praise her enough on her grace along with her professionalism. They also had a lovely pianist preforming live, which only added extra to an already perfect evening!! The food, well...I didn't know they could improve the Mac & cheese, but somehow they did. We tried the Filet and Lobster Burrow with the Godfather roll for an appetizer(not pictured). Oh my goodness- the flavors explode on your palate of savory, mouth-watering perfection with every bite. We also were gifted with a little celebration dessert that included their famous Butter Pie. We ordered a piece to go. Our only mistake was not getting a second piece!! Get that pie, even if it's to go. If heaven had a taste, it would be that Butter pie!! I highly recommend every Jeff Ruby's, especially the Columbus location ♡♡♡

Rude employee, food was bad. The bun tasted old and and the meat was gross. The door said the they close 10 pm and we were told the would be locking the doors at 9:45, this was a manager that said this. Bad just down right bad customer service.

25th work Anniversary... We did online curbside carry out. The pickup area was not clearly marked like other average restaurants. We asked the valet and he had us pull down an alley where they brought our dinner. This is where I dropped the ball... I didn't check the bag.. I assumed because I was getting the "experience" no need. They forgot my cheesecake. Mistakes happen... It's how you fix them that define your character. I called the restaurant and was sent to voicemail. I called Jeff Ruby's and was sent to voicemail... I left a detailed message and a day later I received a call back with a canned apology and a reperations. Cameron Mitchell's.... I'll be back to celebrate my 30th.... Had to see what all the hype was about.

Absolutely wonderful. Came here for my birthday with my husband and 3 month old and everyone was so welcoming and nice. From the valet to the hostesses and our server, everyone and everything was wonderful. Our waiter gifted us a Jeff Ruby’s onesie for the baby which was the cutest. The wonderful people at the host stand were so very helpful and offered to allow me to use a different bathroom so I could comfortably change the baby’s diaper. The sushi and steak were on point and I also received a dessert for my birthday which was absolutely delicious. Will be returning just off the service alone. The whole team went above and beyond and out of their way to make our experience wonderful. This was really our first time out to a restaurant since COVID because of the baby and I appreciate the mask wearing and sanitizer out.

There is no place in Columbus, Ohio that even begins to compare with Jeff Ruby’s. Above and Beyond is where they start, special requests are just the standard. The staff makes you feel like the family you never had. Eat at home twice then treat yourself to the best. Trust me it’s worth every penny. The foods great but, you have never experienced real service until to dine with the Ruby’s team!

We went here for a fancy night out while we were visiting Columbus. It was my first time ever at Jack Ruby’s. I love a good steakhouse. The service was top notch and the drinks were amazing. Some of the best drinks I ever had! The interior was unique and decorated very nicely. That’s what drew me to the steakhouse at the beginning. The steak was great but it wasn’t the best I had. My boyfriend disagrees with me though and said this is the best food he’s ever had!

  • 5/5 Tosha B. 3 years ago on Google
Everything was phenomenal! I will be talking about the sushi and Mac n cheese for weeks. & for being a steak house I was extremely impressed by the sushi. The steak was amazing as well. It was well worth the hour drive I had to take. Honestly next time I’m up there I’ll probably get sushi to go. The portions were good size. I ended up having two meals for my one. The service was amazing, the decor was gorgeous. Can’t wait to go back!

One of the best steakhouses I've been to. Very very good service and everything was phenomenal. The steak was cooked perfectly but the edges were kind of burnt which is the reason for the 4 stars. I didn't complain or say anything as we were hungry and it was my birthday and just wanted to have a good time.

My son gave me a $100 GC for Mother's day so I invited a friend to join me. Best parts of the evening.. the ability to sit outside and your staff is amazing especially, our server, Amanda!! We ordered old fashioneds, should have one cube of ice not 20 and too sweet. Blech. Not off to a good start. Each ordered burgers and side of asparagus. Upon arrival, nice presentation; however both burgers were mushy and both burgers and fries were too salty. Asparagus was old, woody, flavorless, and unedible. Left on our plates. I'm bummed. I know my son gave me the GC to enjoy some snacks and I had high hopes of a good food.

Honestly my favorite evening place. Looking forward to returning with my coworkers. The bill was fair I would say. If it was closer to my home I would be here often.

I've eaten in prime steak houses all over the place and this place is by far the best. The service is incredible. The food is magnificent. Ask for Jordan. He'll take good care of you.

This is hands down the best steak house in Columbus. Whether you're entertaining clients, going on a date, or celebrating something special -- Jeff Ruby's will provide a great experience for all. Be prepared for a high price tag but in all honesty, it has always worth it.

Just experienced Jeff Ruby’s for the first time and it was amazing! The atmosphere/decor was fabulous, such a cozy/glam vibe. We sat at the bar and Olivia was our server and bartender. She was amazing! Super attentive, very quick, and so nice and easy to talk to! She made the experience that much better and we will definitely be back to sit at the bar and chat with her! Food was great, great flavor, the Mac and cheese was amazing! Altogether a wonderful experience!
