So, I’ve been here a few times since living in Columbus & have never been impressed. The staff are borderline rude, the drinks are average at best, & the menu is overpriced in my opinion. That being said, I can respect their patio. Today, I met some friends there but wasn’t in the mood to drink. I went to the shop side, grabbed a sparkling water out of the cooler & checked out (just like you would in a gas station or convenience store.) The girl who checked me out did exactly that…checked me out, nothing more, nothing less. I would consider myself a generous tipper normally (20% + at least) but saw no need to tip on this since she literally did N O T H I N G. I go back outside to sit with my friends & a man comes out & proceeds to yell at me for not tipping. I’ve literally never experienced something more inappropriate, rude or embarrassing at any establishment EVER. I still don’t feel like I needed to tip in this situation, but regardless, the actions of the staff were over the top & uncalled for. Needless to say, I will NEVER be back & will definitely be telling anyone & everyone even considering the bottle shop to go get better drinks & better service somewhere else (:

Can they really be considered a “cocktail bar” anymore? Apparently The Bottle Shop elected to rebrand itself as a wine bar. As a person who has frequented this establishment, I’m saddened that they have moved away from the unique craft cocktail experience that I had come to expect and elected to move into a mainstream service offering. The new menu has very little in terms of “craft cocktails” (see for yourself they now have “slushees”). When asked where the real cocktail menu was, the staff only commented that a decision was made to incorporate more wine selection in to balance its offerings. I hardly consider the menu balanced and miss the days that I could look forward to a unique cocktail experience. Don’t go to the bottle shop if you are looking for a smoked, hand-crafted, specialty infused, or any cocktail for that matter, that requires a talented mixologist. Maybe they will rethink this new strategy?

This is a cool place for cocktails, it has a very bohemian laid-back vibe to it. Drink menu is really well put together and has a diverse mix of available cocktails, definitely something for everyone. I had the "F*CK it, we'll do it live" and the "Smoke and mirrors", of which, both were excellent. It was pretty busy when we arrived around 11:30pm, but still found a seat and had a great time. Will be going back!

Good wheelchair accessibility, and excellent drinks! They make the type of cocktail you can't be bothered to gather everything for at home, and it's well worth the expensive prices. If you just want to drink -- well, there's beer for that too. And the taco truck outside pairs well with either plan.

Home of the best cocktails in Columbus. Attentive, talented and kind bartenders who know what they’re talking about. They rotate their draft list pretty regularly, and offer unique, seasonal cocktails. Sultry lighting inside keeps it cozy and intimate — their patio outside is well-lit and great for summer nights. I couldn’t recommend The Bottle Shop enough. Do yourself a favor and stop in sometime soon.

great for whimsical cocktails that make you feel like you’re a fairy sitting on a toadstool or something magical like that. good draft list too. drink prices make sure me and my partner only stop here for one, which is probably for the best. make sure to bring your woodland creature friends here

I want to be fair with this review of a place I once LOVED. Not anymore. These days, prices are VERY high when compared to neighboring businesses; then there is the rudeness. If overpriced snobbery, rude management, and dirty glasses are your thing than you will be right at home at The Bottle Shop. Impressive, but not in a good way.

Love this place! I went here for the first time last week and everything from the drinks, service, and vibes were on point! Everything was super great and if you need a good place to go, this is it!

Absolutely love this place. I used to live in Chicago where I was spoiled by great cocktail bars and this is the first one I've been to in Columbus that really feels unique. The cocktail selection is great and unique while also being approachable. There's both an inside and an outside which is perfect for spring/summer/fall. The outside has a large amount of seating and is very laid back while the inside is more intimate. Great for dates, hanging out with friends, reading a book alone, or really any scenario.

We were a trio of old ladies looking for a place to have a cocktail. Landed at this place. Sat at the bar, bartender EXTREMELY gracious and helpful, FANTASTIC Spanish G&Ts, We were very happy with our discovery and having a great time. Towards the end of our drinks, we realized we were surrounded by hipsters and we were really out of place. But no one gave us any bad vibes, which made us feel really cool, and we appreciated it greatly ♥️ We plan to go back 👍

I’ve been to Bottle Shop quite a few times (being a Columbus native) and typically have a great time. I love the concept and vibe of the place. However my most recent experience has really left a bad taste and likely won’t be back or recommending this place to others. I came with a group of friends, all of which ordered mixed drinks from the bar and tipped graciously (25% or greater). I personally decided to purchase a bottle of wine from the pseudo-convenience store. I picked my bottle of wine and went to check out with my card, paying for both the wine and the corkage fee. The man at the cash register at first was rather neutral, not particularly rude, not necessarily kind either, speaking to me minimally. He told me he didn’t have any wine glasses and couldn’t open my wine on this side of the building and I would need to go over to the bar side. So essentially he scanned my wine bottle and that’s it. However, when he then presented me with my receipt to get my signature he proceeded to, rather rudely, ask me for a tip prior to even finishing filling out the receipt! At that point in time, he would have had no idea whether or not I intended on leaving a tip to begin with. I’ve worked in the Columbus service industry for 8 years and have never once been asked for a tip, let alone ever asked for one myself. I would 100% have tipped (and still did might I add) regardless, however this rude and entitled comment really rubbed me the wrong way. Reading other reviews, I can see this isn’t the first time this has happened to customers here. This is a HUGE bummer because this is the location where my partner and I had our first date and previously served as a special place for us. We likely won’t be back, which sucks!!

As a loyal patron, I had hoped that The Bottle Shop would continue to push boundaries and surprise me with innovative and enticing beverage options. Unfortunately, the new drink menu failed to capture my interest or leave a lasting impression. It seemed like a missed opportunity to further establish the restaurant as a destination for me. While the atmosphere at this establishment remains commendable, the disappointing change in their drink menu has undoubtedly diminished the experience. I sincerely hope that the restaurant management reconsiders their decision and brings back the creativity and excellence that once set them apart. Until then, my enthusiasm for returning has been dampened, and I cannot wholeheartedly recommend it to others seeking an extraordinary experience.

I have been a regular at the bottle shop for a good number of years now. This is one of my favorite bars in the world. I think they changed managers recently, (like in the last year), but the quality is still the same. Also, the food truck outside in the patio is really good.

Love this location! There's a food truck if you need it and plenty of booze. Street parking can be a pain but whatever. Couple good restaurants next door too if you want a fuller dinner first. Great atmosphere and staff!

Greg Stokes has once again brought joy, education, and the whimsical at his new place! Whether having a drink at the bar or learning about all the amazing wine for purchase, you can enjoy both with some amazing tacos from the food truck outside. Love love love this place!

Good local bar for folks in the OSU area, frequented by grad students. The drinks are good and they have good mock tails and other nonalcoholic options. There’s always a food truck outside for food options too.

Very cute spot for cocktails! The space is dimly lit, has cozy but intimate spaces to sit. The cocktails have interesting flavors and twists but are good. I ordered the Thyme and Punishment which tasted a bit like a health juice, and my partner got the Naked & Shameless. They were good, cute vibes, but I wouldn’t sit here all night drinking.

I love the cozy atmosphere and diverse drinks especially all the greenery. One side is a store with gas station type vibes while the other is a moody bar. The people there are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive especially Kyle! The food truck outside is amazing, I would recommend the fish tacos! I would bring my friends from out of town to visit.

Fantastic place, unique and eclectic with great service, drinks, atmosphere. Highly recommend checking out this gem. The shop carries Black Cap hot sauce too....bonus! Buy local.

My husband and I don't live near the area, so I watched this shop for a while on social media before going when we were in the area. The Bottle Shop exceeded all of my expectations. The store is so fun to browse around and I love the selection of cocktails. It's obvious they are creative and use high-quality ingredients. We loved the atmosphere of the patio so much that we sat outside in the cold to drink cocktails. The Bottle Shop provides beautiful cocktail glasses as a cherry on top of the experience. I can't wait for the special events to start up again so we can try those, too!

I go here frequently, and I am always satisfied and amazed. They always have unique seasonal cocktails and amazing beers on tap. In the warmer months, I love sitting on the patio enjoying drinks and eating street tacos from the food truck outside. There is also a store portion with beer and wines in packs to take home or individual cans or bottles to enjoy on site. The staff is always knowledgeable and friendly, and always fun to talk to if it's not too busy! It's generally a quieter, more mellow experience than other bars and I love it. Pictured is their strawberry switchblade cocktail in April 2018.

Cocktails are phenomenal. You can buy a bottle of wine and have it opened on site. Also several craft beers on draft.

Small quaint and almost perfect. Carry out plenty of hard to find imports and local beers. Bar side has a good draft selection and seasonal hand crafted cocktails.
