Where
do
I
begin...
This
was
my
first
experience
walking
into
a
restaurant
since
COVID
turned
this
city
upside
down.
I
was
excited
to
get
out
of
the
house
for
a
little
bit,
especially
knowing
that
I
was
about
to
dine
on
some
really
great
food,
from
a
reputable
place
after
reading
phenomenal
reviews...
I
walked
in
and
sat
down.
There
was
a
female
bartender
with
black
shoulder
length
hair
(
In
a
pony
tail)
who
didn't
even
look
up
from
the
register
to
notice
me
sitting
at
the
bar.
Mind
you,
I
was
sitting
directly
in
front
of
her....
Then
another
female
worker
with
blond
shoulder
length
hair
in
a
pony
tail
walked
by,
and
the
two
started
a
conversation,
and
walked
away
from
me.
It
then
took
about
10
minutes
of
me
sitting
there,
to
realize
that
I
never
received
a
menu,
nor
service.
I
was
the
sole
patron
at
the
bar,
with
only
two
tables
in
the
restaurant.
I
then
noticed
a
good
friend
of
mine
named
Ben,
who
greeted
me
with
the
warmest
of
greetings.
I
would
have
expected
this
warm
hospitable
greeting
upon
entry
from
the
staff
prior,
and
not
after
being
in
your
establishment
for
10
minutes.
After
Ben
handed
me
the
menu.
A
few
moments
later,
a
middle
aged
couple
sat
at
the
bar,
and
the
female
bartenders
eagerly
greeted
them
with
warm
smiles
and
a
menu.
I
then
continued
to
look
at
the
menu,
and
pay
no
mind
while
I
glanced
over
your
offerings.
It
was
at
this
moment
that
I
was
over
looked
again,
and
the
couple
was
serviced.
The
female
employee
then
walked
past
me
AGAIN
with
not
a
glance,
not
head
nod,
no
recognition
that
I
was
even
sitting
there.
I
felt
invisible.
It
was
truly
a
let
down,
seeing
as
how
this
was
my
first
time
out
and
about
since
the
beginning
of
COVID.
I
then
waited
a
few
more
moments
until
Ben
came
back
around
from
counting
his
tips,
and
noticing
that
I
had
not
been
serviced.
He
was
just
as
surprised
as
I
was.
He
apologized,
and
offered
to
help
me.
If
it
wasn't
for
Ben,
I
wouldn't
have
been
acknowledged
in
this
restaurant.
After
taking
my
Wally
Bash
order,
I
noticed
that
the
Same
couple
that
sat
after
me
had
just
received
their
slider
appetizers
and
two
drinks.
It
was
at
this
moment
where
Ben
and
I
noticed
this,
and
as
he
embarrassingly
attempted
to
apologize,
I
informed
him
that
this
was
all
I
needed
to
see,
to
realize
that
I'm
not
welcomed.
It
was
a
shame
because
I
REALLY
was
looking
forward
to
the
lobster
roll
that
I
heard
so
much
about.
This
service
really
fell
below
my
expectations
of
your
establishment,
given
the
reviews
from
previous
patrons.
At
a
time
where
you
would
think
that
any
and
all
patrons
would
be
eagerly
welcomed
into
the
restaurant,
I
wasn't
even
acknowledged.
Walking
out
to
see
the
beautiful,
lit
up
"Columbus"
light
instillation,
with
"Love"
being
illuminated
was
a
punch
to
the
gut,
after
this
lack
luster
experience,
there
was
no
love
felt.
Being
in
the
hospitality
industry
myself,
i
know
the
importance
of
making
sure
that
everyone
is
felt
welcomed.
I
never
thought
that
I
would
be
the
one
to
feel
so
shunned,
in
my
own
field.
I
hope
that
this
reaches
the
right
person
so
that
this
could
be
addressed,
and
used
as
a
teaching
experience.
You
never
really
know
what
the
next
person
is
going
through.
You
have
the
ability
to
really
make
someone's
day....
Be
sure
to
remember
that,
and
carry
yourself
accordingly.
May
Peace
be
upon
you.
