12/21/23-my second time visiting The Goat with some coworkers for a few celebratory occasions. We had a few cocktails, a few appetizers, and humorous and informative conversations. We had a great time. Thank you to our server, Megan. I added a few more pics. I recommend parking at the nearby garages during the weekdays if going during happy hour. Modernly decorated restaurant with a complimentary color palette that provides comfortable seating and good dining. Today was my first time visiting The Goat in downtown area and enjoyed my visit. I had their Smokehouse Cheddar Burger with fries and it was delicious. Nice crowd. Friendly and fast service. Paid metered parking out front. Free to park after a certain time. Decent prices.

The atmosphere & design here is a vibe! The Spinach salad w/ ranch was fresh, delicious, & the crispy fried green tomato on top completely this salad perfectly! The fish tacos were spicy but really good. Sweet potato fries were great! Ask for Cole, he's an amazing server!

I had really high hopes for this place after hearing good things, but the experience was pretty subpar. We were there overall for over 2 hours, so long that our parking expired and we got a ticket. The drinks came out fast but the food took absolutely forever. The disappointing part was that when it finally came out the burger we ordered was burnt to a crisp (ordered medium) and the fries for the other order were forgotten. The drinks were pretty good though! I'd be okay with coming back to just drink. But I can't imagine ordering food from this place again.

Been here twice. Both times been lovely. Their drinks are always good mThis time I went for brunch. My first strawberry mimosa wasn't cold enough but it was still good, my second mimosa was alot colder. French toast was good. Reasonabled priced. Cute and clean bathroom as well

Food was basic and service was super slow we came during mid day and it was not busy at all. Everything came out one by one had something missing so we had to ask for something each time such as the chips to go with dip, ranch for the salad, etc. first time and probably the last, wouldn’t care much to go back spent over $110 for lunch that wasn’t worth it

I was severely disappointed in how 1, they plated my order and 1, how little of an amount they give for the nachos which costs $10. And then I asked for avocado instead of bacon and was charged for that. Upon speaking to the manager he was okay with how that looked and said they were drastically cutting back on portions. This was my first visit and will be the last!

Was looking for a place to grab dinner before a show that wasn't too far from our hotel. This place was a pleasant surprise. The staff was very pleasant and the food was delicious. I had the chicken wrap and my girlfriend had the fried green tomato sandwich.

Dan was our server and he was great! Personable and funny and took great care of us. Joshua made sure all was good and made us feel welcome. The food was delicious. I had the GOAT burger and it was the best burger I’ve ever had. So yummy. Fries were awesome too. Thanks Dan and Joshua! We’ll definitely be back!

Quick service. I went for lunch and was in and out about 40 mins. They have good food and good vibes. I ordered the blackened mahi-mahi fish tacos they were simple but delicious fish was cooked just right and very flavorful. It was a little difficult to eat as a traditional taco because the portions of fish were so big compared to the size of the tortilla. Maybe have a version with tomato and red onion instead of pickled onions but it was still good

I enjoy The Goat spaces and this one downtown is no exception. It is a great spot to meet someone whether for lunch, coffee or a drink. They were very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Ordered breakfast tacos for brunch. Flavor was delicious. Meal came with two tacos that were a good size. Ordered a mimosa but they were out of champagne due to a baby shower earlier. Server had mimosa made with rose instead. Yum 😋.

I ordered the salmon tacos, and I did like the taste, but I would have preferred the salmon be cut into smaller pieces instead of large chunks. I also ordered sweet potato fries, and they were delicious. The cocktails are also good. Only complaint I have is regarding the service. The waitress went MIA for a while and our drinks were sitting at the bar, it was definitely not terrible service, but not excellent either.

Perfect brunch near the Commons. Master egg chefs work here. Excellent drink menu. Fancy ladies room with a lounge (so I’m told).

The service truly takes away from the experience. My husband and I visited on a Friday night around 6:45pm. Being seated took a few minutes as the host had to clear a table. Everything else was so slow: getting drinks, getting appetizers (which were put in the same time as our drinks and came out with our entree), and receiving our food which came almost an hour after we were seated. We ordered pickle chips, a blue cheese burger, and a southwest burger. All were just… decent. My husband requested no bacon on his burger (he’s allergic) and it arrived with two slices of bacon on top. Mediocre experience at best.

I ordered a chicken wrap and my partner got crispy wings as a carry out order. We also got two orders of fries. The chicken wrap was mostly just tortilla and the wings were not crispy in the slightest. We’ve ordered from here before and had a good experience but this time felt like we were just throwing money down the drain.

I thought my side salad was a $3 upgrade with my burger and fries, but we were charged $6 for each side salad. Great atmosphere though. $46. For 2 Burgers. 2 fries, 2 side salads..we even drank water 😞

Huge props to Heather for delivering excellent service! She really went above and beyond, as all of our food and drinks came out to us on time and she was so friendly! I know I'll be visiting this place more often now thanks to her!

My experience at The Goat was great! Our server was super friendly and accommodating. She even gave us recommendations for other places to visit while downtown. Our food was also delicious. I ordered the California chicken sandwich with a side of Mac n Cheese. Best mac n cheese ever!

This is a "Naked" Hamburger with Brie and Bacon Jam. Earlier I had coffee. I suppose a weekday "brunch" with some "adult" beverages. Very busy at lunch; it was fun "people watching" from the bar. Interesting business model unique to College Towns!

Delicious food and decent drink selection. Had a pizza with dates and pork belly and other goodies (and asked for no cheese as well) and it was delicious and cooked perfectly even with the no cheese. The deck space is recently completed giving the space practically a NYC rooftop feel. Also has giant connect 4 and other fun "lawn" style games on the patio. Also good for vegetarians/vegans with great salads with many styles and toppings and other vegetarian friendly foods. Highly recommend the GOAT!

The food was okay, but the real problem was the service. Our waitress was lovely, but even with a nearly empty restaurant it took forever. We left after appetizers thought we had intended to order dinner. Assuming they were just understaffed.

I am a server myself and never complain about service, i understand things can get busy. It was my friends birthday tonight and our server just wasn’t good. I think we timed 20 minutes before she stopped over to check on us again. i understand people can get busy however, the place was pretty empty. Food was great, just wish there was better service.

One of my absolute favorite things about the Goat is their private side room they have available. Before the pandemic, I would hold meetings there with my team where we could collaborate in a fun space other than our office while eating delicious food! Everyone was always so kind and helpful when arranging these meetings and I can't wait until we can do it again!

The whole staff is amazing. I live at LC and go to the goat regularly and haven’t had a bad experience yet. Jordan the manager is incredible. Love coming to the goat and recommend all their food!

First the service was wonderful. Kelsey was a Fantastic server!!! Kudos to her!! We went for brunch and we were not impressed with it. It looks like the lunch and dinner menu is great but the brunch menu is lacking. Husband got the hit brown and the pork was just okay. My traditional eggs were good, but the coffee tastes watered down..my husband got a carmel latte stle drink and it was just watered milk with a splash of esspreso. If you're going for coffee go somewhere else. the atmosphere was a great for sure though! We might have gone at an off time. But the food and coffee was not up to par for what was paid. Will try for lunch and dinner and hopefully it would better. Again kelsey was wonderful!

Great and clean place! Flavor was definitely amazing compared to other wing places. They even offered to give us our wings extra crispy! We had Cajun, hot bbq, and mild. Hot bbq was all of our favorite. Very impressed with this place. The wings are a little more expensive than I'd like but I was happy to spend the money on them. Sidenote: Not a great place to wash your hands!

Great happy hour prices. My flatbread was pretty good but soggy. However my friend really enjoyed her chicken wings.

This was a great location to host our class reunion (about 70 people). Jordan and his team were great to work with. Jordan worked to create a custom event menu that worked with all types of dietary restrictions, including themed custom cocktails. During our event, Jordan and team helped with set-up and tear-down and were timely on food and drink rotations. Overall we were so pleased with the great communication and service we received. Thank you!

Really not impressed. The place was half empty so you’d think the service would be better, but our waiter moved at one speed, slow. And he neglected to check in on us after delivering the food. He mumbled everything and the music drowned out his voice. Our drinks were empty, he didn’t notice. Food was decent, fries were the high point of the meal. Atmosphere is nice. Very modern. It’s a shame because it’s true that I’d give this place a better rating if not for the service.

The service left a lot to be desired. The server was MIA most of the meal. Drinks from the bar took forever to get to our table. Our water glasses were empty and the ice melted and gone before we got any refills. It was a Tuesday evening and they weren’t busy. The tots were great, the Cobb salad was edible.

Service here is typically okay, but the food and drinks are good. Tonight the service was mixed and the food was terrible. Cold nachos and $16 pepperoni basil pizza that had no basil, a couple pep, and wasn’t even cooked all the way. Time to find an alternative.

Paid $20 for the herbivore pizza with grilled chicken. The pizza is missing half of the veggie toppings (no banana peppers, no chickpeas, ect.) there are 10 pieces of chicken (biggest about 1 in by 1 inch), and there was no one staffing the front house at all when I walked in. Watch your wallet here…. UPDATE: I tried the pizza and the crust was very tough. The crust was like chewing on beef jerky. Very disappointed as my biggest issue with the Goat downtown is their consistency. I’ve had this pizza before and it looked and tasted nothing like the one subject of this review. I have had this exact same experience with their black bean burger (it was perfect one day and the next time i ordered it the burger was 1/3 the size of the bun and cold). Consistency is a big sticking point for me with this place as they charge prices on par with short north. I will not be spending another $20 on pizza here as it could be better spent at dominoes depending on your luck.

I actually have the food mostly delivered to my home - although the in-person experience is great - but some weeks after work stress I just need a Devil on Goatback and a bottle of wine for the weekend. They never disappoint. And the people that deliver are the most friendly, wonderful individuals that are the icing on the cake. (Or, pizza in my case)
