After YEARS of learning that Dirty Frank's existed in Columbus, the stars aligned and I finally had the chance to go! For sides, I ordered the vegan mac n cheese and cajun french fries. The fries were immaculate and in my french fry rulebook, couldn't be better. I loved the texture of the mac but would suggest adding some toppings in there for a few more pops of flavor! The menu is clearly labeled for all dietary restrictions and there are SO MANY OPTIONS! Here's what I got: 🌭 The CBJ dog Cheese sauce, bacon bits, jalapenos 🌭 Archies big boston Boston baked beans, onion, cheddar Too hard to pick a favorite... Neither lasted long! :) I can't wait to go back! Service was so quick (we went on a Sunday afternoon) and there's plenty of street parking and paid lots nearby.

Pros: Interesting variety of options. The best combo we tried was the loaded potato. Cool name. Cons: limited indoor seating and they make you wait outside for a take out order. I ordered online and it said it would take 30 minutes. Because of the outdoor waiting I made sure to come back close to the 30 minute timeframe. The dogs I ordered with chips on them had soggy chips by that time as I am certain they had them ready long before the 30 minutes (just watching how fast others’ orders were being made). We also had fries and tots with cheese and bacon on them. The bacon bits were too over done as were the fries but again by the time I got them they were just dark and soggy and salty. Overall: it’s nice to try once but not something I’d crave and want to make the effort to go downtown to have again.

You might ask yourself, how many can you try if it’s your first time. The answer is 2. But you’ll have to comeback to try the other flavors. Frank’s is definitely a downtown staple for Columbus. The people are extremely kind and the food is good. I recommend the dirty nachos to share, and which ever dogs you fancy. One highlight is the fresh jalapeños and the cheese sauce in the dogs. That makes for a godly combination, also the poppy seed buns deserve a mention for the soft texture.

Day date with my beautiful girlfriend. Our first choice for food was too long of a wait, so we went on impulse. We were not disappointed. Service was awesome. Comfortable atmosphere. Dogs were excellent with A LOT of different options on the toppings. RC soft drinks which was a nice change from everyone else having Coke or Pepsi. Choice of tots or fresh cut fries. A return trip will be made when my kids are out of school.

Tasty hot dogs. Nice selection of hot dogs as well as craft beers. Mixed drinks are available as well. Service is friendly and quick. You can get your dogs steamed or charred. Two hotdogs and a fry are $12 which is a good value and nice meal. Nice casual atmosphere to dine in. Clean bathrooms.

This placed shocked me. I expected a total dive with meh food… wrong. Tons of options to choose from… albeit hot dog options. To start their dogs are all beef OR you can select a vegan option. Bun wise the norm is a poppy seed bun or you can select a lettuce wrap or a gluten free bun. Three of us selected the Doginator hotdog… all of us loved it. We also had a Loaded Potato Dog which was incredibly salty. We got french fries and funnel cake fries as sides… delicious. Onion rings came on the Doginator and they were excellent… they were beer battered over a breaded crumb. Typically I prefer the breaded crumb, but these were excellent. Now, I wouldn’t say this is a healthy food option but I don’t think that’s what you are looking for if you are going to a hotdog restaurant. Can’t wait to go back and sample the other dogs!!

Came here one night for a Yelp event to try their new Hot Mama dog and fries. I had never been before and was suprised by the quality of the food and the amazing service. The ingredients are fresh and the fries are flavorful and crispy. The Hot Mama dog is spicy for real so be prepared to sweat! Would love to come back and try the other hot dogs!

It must be a wild and popular hot dog place. The restaurant was decorated with a few funny pictures and wallpapers. There were also a variety styles of hot dogs with cheap prices. Chicago Dawg tasted amazing with a juicy pickle, fresh tomatoes and decent relish sauce, but the hot dog was cold. I like the cute Columbus picture on the wall so much.

Loved this palace. The food was tasty and delicious. Staff was super nice. I'm glad I found this when doing research for my trip to Columbus. I got a basket with 2 cowgirl Carmen's vegetarian style. Very yummy. 10/10 would recommend.

Lots of imaginative toppings for your hot dog. My niece, who doesn't like hot dogs, said these were good, and the loaded tots and fries were great too. We really enjoyed our dinner here. Stop by if you are in the area!

My new favorite place!!!! This restaurant is amazing. They have a large menu of unique items and tons of hot dog options and toppings I've never seen before. VERY vegan and vegetarian friendly. Any hot dog can be swapped for a veggie dog, and many of the meat based toppings such as bacon bits and chili they have a vegetarian version of. As a vegetarian this made me so happy I could try almost anything on the menu. The basket combo is great bc you can pick 2 hot dogs and get a side of fries and tots for 12 bucks and trust me this is more than enough food. I cannot wait to come back, they have something for everyone here.

Just… wow. Absolutely fantastic food. Each hot dog was served with a delicious bun, which definitely elevates it. Cooked well, the bacon wraps were crispy, the brisket in the doginator was delicious even on its own. Combine that with a sense of humor, friendly staff, and an amazing vibe and you have a top notch dinner. Definitely worth stopping in.

I really enjoyed trying Dirty Frank’s restaurant after having them at Crew games. The restaurant has a great, little atmosphere and the food is terrific! They put a good amount of toppings on their dogs, but not so much that it’s falling everywhere and you can’t actually enjoy the dog. The workers were friendly and, although I’m not into that kind of stuff, they had a lot of vegan/vegetarian options so everyone can enjoy it. We got some of their loaded nachos, mac and cheese bites, the West Virginia Slaw dog, and their limited time special: the Philly dog.

My boyfriend and I went here for an anniversary. I was expecting a bit better quality for the price but overall it was a nice experience. At the end of our meal when we received the chocolate (we got smores), the alcohol they use to light it was very strong and ruined the whole thing. It upset me because that was the part I was looking forward too. Our server kinda just gave us a, oh well, better luck next time attitude. Besides that it was nice!

Ok let’s be clear . This place is good very nice and quality food . But for the price you expect more or something different. It is still nice restaurant if you want impress your love one and feel like French style. But I had the best lemon mojito 👌

What a great place! Not too loud; not too dark; not too public. Very clean. I'd never been and it was AMAZING! Our server, Rahel, was 5⭐ too! And the FOOD! The DUCK was.... No words. And the duck walked up to the lemonade stand and he said to the man in the lemonade stand... Hey! Got any DUCK?! Go. Ask for Rahel.

Dirty Frank’s Hot Dog Palace is absolutely amazing! For my first time in Ohio I was told to check this place out! We drove from Kent to try it! I had the Chicago Dog and it was hands down the best I’ve had!!! And the kimchi dog also blew me away! Their sodas are delicious and we all loves the fries (although I could have had them a bit more crispy! The service was phenomenal and we never went without a refill or anything else we needed. All the staff were friends while we were there and the store was super clean! And since it’s during covid when I’m writing this, it was amazingly handled. We were explained everything we needed and got seated and we were eating in no time. If you’re re near dirty franks I suggest you go for sure and if your out of town and find yourself at or near one? Get a couple dogs for the road!

So yummy! My husband found this place prior to our trip to Columbus for the zoo and we decided to scoot on by and check it out. It was so yummy very cute little spot we got the Chicago and the Pittsburgh princess along with some fries and funnel fries to finish. If you are close I def recommend stopping by for a dog. You can build your own hot dog and you can also pick one already pre configured. They have beer on tap also in cans and bottles as well as some mixed drinks. We even picked up a couple tshirts that they had for sale. All of the staff was nice and friendly. Our waiter checked on us several times and was very awesome. If in town again we will be back!

Unique eatery! Great hotdogs with a ton of different toppings. You can try combos that have already been established or make up your own! The tots and fries are very good as well! Many different drink options, alcoholic or not! Lastly, the service is perfect and they take pride in what they do!

Great variety of different hotdogs. 2 ways your hotdog can be prepared, fried, and charred. I had the Bollywood and Chilli dog, bot charred and they were delicious. Also had the tots, fries, and onion rings, all were very good. For an extra cost, you can get the jumbo dog added to your meal. Great lil place with great food.

Loved how many options their menu has!! It has vegetarian and vegan options as well. The restaurant is located in downtown Columbus and the parking is not free, but the service is fast so it shouldn’t take more than 1 hour. We went there for lunch and I ordered “The Old Faithful” with a veggie dog and a side of tots. You could just tell that they changed their frying oil often because the tots tasted amazing. The hot dog was the perfect size for a lunch bite and it tasted absolutely delicious!

The sheer number of hot dogs available on their menu can be overwhelming, but every single one we tried was delicious. There are so many toppings available and lots of vegetarian options. There are veggie dogs, fake bacon, and vegetarian coney sauce. I also tried the raunchy fries which were delicious. The food came out quickly and our server was nice and attentive as well. This is a must-visit restaurant for those visiting and living here.

Quick and scrumptious bite. 👌🏼 Brother introduced me to this place, really enjoyed it. Gourmet style hotdogs with a very energetic, bright atmosphere. Can be a little chaotic. Ordered premium Brisket and Slaw Dog and Hot Tot-cho Dog. The Hot Tot-cho was very delicious. Surprisingly better than the premium one. Will have to return to try out more style dogs 🌭

First time ever stopping by here! The food was fresh, the staff was kind, and there was a good variety of different items on the menu to choose from. I got the 2 hot dogs with tater tots meal, I believe, for $12.99. A nice amount of food! Even to be shared if you only wanted one hot dog. Would recommend the visit!

This is the cutest Place! Stopped here after landing at the Columbus airport and was able to get a table right away. The restaurant was chock full of wiener puns as any self respecting hotdog restaurant should be. The tots were cooked perfectly and their adult beverages were cheap and strong.

You know what? Just a hot dog place with a super lived-in vibe. First time here, but was the restaurant equivalent of putting on a comfy pair of shoes. Food was great, service was fine, but the biggest points were earned for the atmosphere.

Great experience! We were in Columbus for a volleyball tournament and decided to stop in and give it a try. Was not disappointed. My husband and I got 4 different hot dogs and shared them and they were all delicious! The Cleveland Rocks was by far our favorite!

I get to come down to Ohio once a year or so for work and I always make time to stop here. I absolutely adore the veggie polish dogs split and cooked in a Chicago dog style. This is year # 3 that I came down and my wife always gets a shirt. If you're not stopping by you're missing out on a quality affordable meal with an absolutely electric atmosphere. The music is always great and I love the restaurant artwork.

Come here every month or so. I always order their CBJ dog in my wiener basket. The vegan dog is all right, I just love that they have vegan cheese and bacon bits! Their fries and tots are also always hot and fresh.

Can't eat inside yet, but you can order inside or online for take out. Food is delicious. I never knew hotdogs could be made so many different ways🙂. The cashier/waitress I ordered from was very nice. If you haven't been here you should go.

Delicious hot dogs and a lot of choices. We went there at 6.45pm on a Saturday. We waited a lot to be seated (about 20mins) and to get the food after we ordered. We finally got the food at 7.42pm. The place doesn't let the sunshine in and very dark and loud.

hot dogs, yeah, my preferred treat. Dropped in on Mon I think. The staff was sociable and attentive. Prices were reasonable. Kinda of like a restaurant in Los Angeles I liked to visit.

  • 5/5 Al M. 3 years ago on Google
For a rainy Monday evening in downtown Columbus this place had no open tables. Quick service kept wait times to a minimum, but it was 40 degrees and rain outside. Something special filled this restaurant. Great food and service with a good selection of beers all offered at very reasonable prices is the short answer.

I visited Dirty Frank's on December 10, 2020. I order a polish which tasted like a hotdog and it looked small like a hotdog. Unfortunately, being that I was already in route to my next destination I did not return to see if this is what they call a polish or the cook don't know the difference. I am new to this area via Chicago since August 2020 and still haven't found a good Hot Dog restaurant 🤦‍♀️

  • 5/5 Greyson Y. 3 years ago on Google
Best hotdogs I've ever had. (Also, that Polish is pretty dang good too.) I've converted so many people to these dogs. It wasn't hard.

  • 5/5 Scott L. 3 years ago on Google
This is the sort of place you'll get cravings for. Really well priced and a ton of variety in their toppings. They're a hot dog joint that doesn't disappoint. They also have a really solid drink selection as well as a rotating monthly beer special. Great for watching sports or hanging out with a group, and even when they've been packed I've never had to wait for more than a few minutes. All the bartenders and staff are very friendly as well. I can't recommend this place enough. Also during this season of coronavirus, they've been offering carryout that's just as solid as if it were eaten there. It's worth taking the time to support this business.

Our waiter was Don, he was fabulous! We went to celebrate Valentine’s Day early! It was my boyfriends first time and I’ve been previously in SC. But this was a great experience! He checked on us a lot to make sure we were enjoying the food and that everything came out good! He was very thorough, VERY polite and knew what he was doing! He even helped us decide what to get and told us what he loves to get there! We’ll definitely be back! Thank you for such a great experience!

Went here for an earl Valentine's day dinner. It was great, got the big day for 2. It costed me about $150 including tip. Totally worth it. The wait staff was so kind and friendly. First time doing fondue. Ended up stuffed. Was a great experience would come again for a special occasion.

I love going to The Melting Pot there so many delicious choices to choose from. I think it's really fun to get my own bread than Apples at all kinds of appetizers into the cheese fondue. They offer a dairy-free option for the cheese fondue going to help me have a better day when I get a chance. I really like to get the stock option. Any restaurants actually have duck on their menu this is a great place for I get to decide how I went to cook it and now I want it made for myself. I love the variety of sauces that they provide for the dinner lunch at always makes it easy for me to eat and have a great time. The desert is always so much fun as always so many spotlit choices and it makes my tummy happy when I go.

So I went to this place expecting something different, I don’t even know what...When the menu arrived I wasn’t sure what was what, the server was very helpful and friendly and helped us out on what to choose, it just me and my other half on a date..what we choose wasn’t the best choice, but we still ate and had the best time ever, I laughed so much I had some people starring at me weird. I would definitely go back and try something different.

Good. Not as great as it used to be. They used to mix all the fondue ingredients at the table and then put it all in the burner. Now it.all comes pre-melted from the back. This leads me to think maybe it's coming from a commissary and then is frozen in the store. Which of that's the case, I don't love paying that much for it. Also, the bread was a bit stale.

I will say that I would not go regularly because it is even pricier after Restaurant week and you could do fondue yourself at home.

To be honest the place looked decent. It was my first time going and it was my mother’s birthday. The food was horrible if you wanna waste money for no reason this is the right place. They give you such a small portion that you can’t even call it a snack. I didn’t even get full. Now I’m headed to my house to eat. By the way get ready for the bill. For the small portion they give you basically they are ripping you off. The food is bland with small dipping portions as well. I spend over 400 for 6 people. It’s a 3.5 for a reason if you’re deciding where to eat this is not the place.

The Melting Pot is our favorite special occasion restaurant. We're here at least once a month. Everything is consistent: the food, atmosphere and service. If you want to take your friend or spouse for a special, memorable meal, THIS is the place to go.

If I could give zero stars I would. The food was horrible. What we thought was going to be great food, great experience was absolutely horrific. It was nasty, it didn’t even look appealing. The lobster tails were even gross. Our bill was $300. The manager offered to take off $25. We will never go back. I’ve emailed corporate, left a review on their Facebook page and now I’m leaving a review here. Hoping someone might care enough to make it right. Horrible. Still makes me sick thinking about it. We could have gone to Jeff Ruby’s and had amazing food for what we paid. Do not recommend.

fondue... my preferred treat. Service is consistently above par. The bill was reasonable. This place has positive reviews for a reason.

In Columbus for work. This place was amazing! Everyone loved everything they had. My favorite was the Fire on the Rhine. Best hot dog I have ever had! I will definitely be back if I am in Columbus again, an possibly again before I leave!

Great dog is a cool little place. Get the onion rings over the tots, trust me! So good. The food came out fast and was hot and delicious.

Awesome dogs. Sides were just ok. My family liked the pretzel nuggets. Onion rings and tots weren't that great. Kiddo's Octodog was adorable!

Went the Crew game in the new stadium and stopped for a hot dog after! They were just closing up and the owner got us a hotdog anyways which was really nice of him and the staff! So we really appreciated the kindness and the YUMMY dogs! 5 start dog, 5 star people!

Oh man. This place doesn't have tossed salad. But they sure have a Dirty Sancho on the menu. Old time pop, floats, good craft beer, and creative cocktails. And, of course, hot dogs with interesting ship on them. The T shirt I bought says Ask Me About My Wiener. Here's just the tip: the corn dog was the best thing we tried. And the onion ring dip is some great spicy bar cheese.

I don't eat beef hot dogs but my family does. They thought the dogs were good. Daughter had potato chips and ketchup. He had cheese and onions. I tried the veggie dog. Wasn't yummy. Loved the onion rings, tots and mac & cheese tots. Service was fast. Would recommend. We parked on the street in front.

Very good restaurant. I found it a little bit by chance, and it was really nice! It is a very nice hot dog restaurant. The atmosphere inside is very warm and the staff is very pleasant. I recommend this restaurant, which remains affordable!

A friend recommended this place and they did not disappoint. It is an unassuming place but the service was quick and efficient. I particularly liked the selection of draft beer from several local breweries. The star is still the covered dogs. I had a "doginator" which was excellent. Folks were having a variety of dogs and sides so I don't think you can go wrong. It was worth the walk from the convention center to eat here.

Rated as 3-1/2 to 4 stars (6 months ago a solid 5+). I used to live in the area so Dirty Franks was a go to place for us. I was back in town about 6 months ago, had a Cowgirl and a Chicago. Both just as I remembered and great as always. Between then and now (see the pics - two dogs pic was from 6 months ago, single dog was from yesterday), the dogs have gotten a lot smaller. I noticed it as soon as it was delivered to the bar where I usually sit. Don't get me wrong, still nice dogs but much smaller and skimpier on the toppings. What gives Dirty Frank's? Did y'all change your suppliers? Different management or owners? I would rather have the old dogs and pay a bit more, but maybe not everyone feels the same. I'll eat there again, but will be a little less excited.

Canadian review: Great atmosphere and great dogs! Got the classic chili dog and CBJ. Y'all are awesome. Also got the t shirts as a souvenir

This is a must stop when we come to Columbus from Northeast Ohio. The hot dogs are great, I love the variety. The staff was even better, friendly, attentive, and accommodating. My little one fell asleep before we made it inside and slept through the whole meal. The staff made sure we had her order ready to go on case she woke up.

Jay is an amazing server. Highly recommend coming Monday nights. The dogs were filling and the toppings were tasty treats. They ran out of watermelon juice but that's okay. Jay replaced it with grenadine. Never stop eating here.

Happened upon this place after a long day of travel. It's a very niche, tidy spot for a great hot dog. Admittedly, I don't eat hot dogs very often, but when I do, I want them to be special, and Dirty Frank's offers just that. I liked all the options for sides as well. Service was very attentive and helpful. Would definitely go back.
