Longtime local bar/restaurant. Great bourbon selection and lots of hometown menu options. Tried the turtle soup and meatloaf dinner. Both excellent options. The chocolate cake for dessert was the best.

The food was excellent. The place has great history about it. The host was telling us about his experience with ghosts in the building. We sat outside just after a storm had passed and got service quicker than if we had waited for a table inside. It was a wonderful experience.

Our dinner at old Mohawk left a lot to be desired. This was the first true date night for my husband and I in a very long time and it was pretty disappointing. The service at old Mohawk gets 5 stars. However, the food would be a 2 at best. The spinach dip appetizer was cold, soupy and lacked flavor. My husbands burger came out as pictured. The top bun was put in a pool of the myoglobin from the burger which was quite nasty. I got the meatloaf dinner and it was not good at all. The meatloaf was dry and the mashed potatoes were lumpy. It was on par with the meatloaf lunch you’d be served in grade school. The macaroni and cheese (pictured) had over cooked bread crumbs on the top and was runny as well. Not much different in flavor than what you would expect from a stoffers meal. I had high hopes for the old Mohawk but sadly this place missed the mark.

Being in the heart of a city yet still feeling like you are on holiday in a European countryside. is such a wonderful feeling. My food, the service, and the setting were all extremely enjoyable.

Great local pub holding true to its roots. Staff was fun and friendly. Great menu selection for small and large bites. You need to try the turtle soup. It does not disappoint.

For PALM SUNDAY, Linda and I tried this Cafe. It is GLORIOUS as Martha Stewart would say! I ordered the FRENCH DIP - nice size serving where half the sandwich can be just right! Thankful to take part home for another meal! For the same price as Roosters, you can enjoy quieter dining with the locals... and NO tv to distract. And, get this! There was a dog-walking rally of sorts. The entry/ finish was located at Schiller Park. Which means people watching as they paraded by! Linda enjoyed a Club sandwich with chips. My entree came with tasty fries! Just an enjoyable, leisurely Brunch. With a most attentive male Server. - Keith Psalm 103

Spinach artichoke dip was the best ever. It had a little kick to it,could have been happy with that alone, but got the fish &chips and Cole slaw. All the food was delicious. Will definitely go back soon.

We come here whenever we visit Columbus. Food is consistent, really friendly staff, and a pretty decent tap list. The Mother Mohawk is their quintessential sandwich (chicken salad, roast beef, horseradish) - definitely a fun one to try. They also have turtle soup which I've been too scared to try but our friends enjoy it. This was the first time we sat outside as it was really busy inside. Service was still great and we got to enjoy a beautiful day. Thanks!

The Old Mohawk is one of my favorite places in Columbus. I loved the neighborhood feel and the ambiance of The Old Mohawk. Our servers have always been super with just the proper amount of attentiveness. I got the Mother Mohawkas, my favorite signature item, grilled roast beef, and homemade chicken salad topped with Swiss cheese on marble rye bread and served with a side of caraway horseradish sauce. Wow. It sounds ridiculous, but it is delicious. I also enjoy Santa Fe Beef Quesadilla Taco beef, black beans, lettuce, corn relish, and diced tomato. It was grilled in a sun-dried tomato tortilla, served with salsa and sour cream. One of my wife’s favorites is Crustless Pizza, Penne tossed with marinara, topped with mozzarella and provolone cheese, and baked to a golden brown. If you are in German Village, give them a try.

Turtle soup was fun to try, since I've never had it. The turkey burger and mushroom spinach quesadilla were great! Also pictured: the half Mother Mohawk and half reuben sandwiches with bowls of turtle soup.

So when we first arrived there was a waitress that was super rude. The bartender however redeemed my first impression by being super nice. We decided to stay and so glad we did.. Once seated our waitress (a different young lady with a cool tattoo on her arm) Was amazing! My friend ordered turtle soup, I wasn't that adventurous but she said it was so good. I ordered the fish and chips and the fish was cooked to perfection. The cauliflower and the crab balls (can't remember the name) were so freaking good. Glad that we stayed despite our first not so great welcome. We visited Old Mohawk on Saturday, 10/22/22 around 7:30 PM.

We had a wonderful dinner last night at The Old Mohawk! Much of the delight was due to our server Taylor! She was great in every way a server should be! A real pleasure! I had the Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans was delicious and a Mohawk tradition. The beans were so good! My wife had a Reuben sandwich with French onion soup which she loved. The sandwich was loaded with meat! Do not leave here without desert! My favorite was the Salted caramel lava cake. So good!

Basically a perfect neighborhood pub. Friendly people and relaxed atmosphere. The food was so good we went back the next day. Our waitress was super nice and helpful. I wish it wasn't 11 hours away. The prices are reasonable especially considering the quality of the food. Try the Mother Mohawk and the Bratwurst sandwiches. The snapping turtle soup is excellent.

Great little place. It is worth the wait. We absolutely loved the Cajun mac and cheese. The reuben was a good size. It wasn't as strong in flavor as the Reubens we usually eat, but was still delicious. The crab tots were bombdigity. You must must must try these. The carrot cake we had was good too. The hubby really loved it. Have fun and enjoy!

There are a few places in German Village which can be someone's version of Cheers. This is ours. The food is spectacular and the servings are plentiful. Here you will find the tastiest burgers in the city. The draft beers are quality, the bartenders are great with a mixed drink. The original art on the wall is for sale and changes monthly, but everything else stays the same. The reason to go to the Mohawk is the atmosphere and the service. You will recognize the regulars after a while, and everyone in the restaurant will get to know you. When the servers ask you if you want your regular drink, or have half of your order written down by the time they ask if you know what you want, because they know what you'll order, you know your in a special place. That's the type of place the Mohawk is. It's the place where the tables are close enough that there are no strangers and your neighbor may engage you in conversation. The type of place where someone may buy you a drink or a meal after a great chat. It's the type of place that you go to when you want to feel the pulse of a neighborhood, and always feel welcomed.

A German Village casual classic. My partner and I go here often, and it always feels like home. It's one of those places where it feels like the food it made with love. I do miss the house-made kettle chips, but my favorites are the Club Sandwich (as a wrap), the Mother Mohawk, the Rueben, and the fried Mac and Cheese Bites are so good. Great beer selection and I love seeing art by local artists for sale on the walls. The interior and the brick walls maintain the historic charm.

Nice place that matches the ascetic of the area. They have a sizeable menu with a neighborhood atmosphere. Staff was very nice. I ordered the wings and aside from the size they were actually pretty good. They had a nice crunch to them that improved the eating experience. For the price though the should have been way larger. Had that been the case I'd have given them five stars Maybe it was just the night I went but my friend also got wings and they were also bite size. So if you're hungry I order something else.

I recently visited The Old Mohawk and hadixed experience. The wait time for my food [BBQ Bacon Burger with onion rings] was pretty average, and I was seated promptly by the hostess. However, the service I received from my waiter was mildly below average. She seemed uninterested and inattentive, and it took a while for her to take my order and check on me throughout the meal. On the bright side, the food was pretty good. I ordered a burger and found it to be slightly above average. For the price, the patty was cooked to my liking and had good flavor. The bacon was a nice balance of crisp and soft, and they used shallots for the onion, which was a great touch. But the real star of the meal was the onion rings. They were exceptional - crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavor. I would come back to this restaurant just for the onion rings! Overall, I would say that while the service was a bit lacking, the food quality made up for it. If you're a fan of burgers and onion rings, give The Old Mohawk a try.

An eclectic Columbus restaurant in the heart of German Village. Even though parking is a challenge, and they don't take reservations, the food and atmosphere more than make up for it. Beers, wines and cocktails complement a good selection of meals and sandwiches. ( A signature Manhattan went well with my Reuben and chips. ) All in all, a most enjoyable repast.

LOVE this place, we used to go all the time when living on Whittier but since we've moved when we're back it's such a treat. We love the mother mohawk sandwich 🥪 and we love that they support local artists every month!

This place...WOW! I would say more restaurant than neighborhood bar, and trendy in a "good" way (everyone welcomed, everyone cool). Immediately welcomed by my super cool server who gave me food selections that were 100% perfect! Mock Turtle Soup -tasty. French onion soup was discussed before my meal was over, and as good as my server was making it sound - I had to try it...probably the BEST French onion soup I've EVER had (& I used to live in Europe!) Meatloaf dinner was probably the BEST meatloaf I've EVER had at a restaurant as well-and the gravy was rich and delicious! Finished with an absolutely amazing piece of chocolate cake! You need to get to this place that's been there forever (great old school feel to the place) right now! You can thank me later!

Tasty food. Super friendly server. We were there at lunch rush hour on a Saturday and had a very good experience. We had a very tasty Spinach and Artichoke Dip appetizer. For lunch, I had the Fish and Chips platter. My luv had the Turkey Reuben. Very good. A little noisy which was expected given the day and time.

It was an awesome local place! We came in for appetizers to enjoy a girls night out. Our service was fast ant the bar. And our food was amazing and was super quick! Nicole was our bartender and she was excellent. She was a very experienced bartender you could tell by her knowledge of different cocktails. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very cool!

Service was great, food was incredible! Their fried pickle chips are absolutely perfect, and their sandwiches are everything you would expect. I went with some girlfriends and we shared a little bit of everything! French onion soup, turtle soup (tasted like a beef vegetable soup!) fried pickles, smoked bacon Gouda bites (super smokey flavor), hummus plate (essentially a gyro without the meat!), The Mother Mohawk on Texas Toast, Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with onion rings, Reuben on Texas Toast, and the Bratwurst with potato cakes — all pictured!

Super cool vibe in the German Village. I had the Turtle Soup, which was excellent, and the Village Reuben, which was also good. The staff was very friendly and the service was fast. Highly recommend!

Food and service were fantastic! This feels like a real laid back neighborhood spot with a lot of regular customers. I was there from out of town and I had the bratwurst platter with two pints of Krombacher. Wife had the chili nachos. Both dishes tasted amazing. Highly recommend. Very casual with plastic covered tables and a cool looking bar in the center.

Good casual spot to get some food or a drink or both. You can tell the place has some history and is definitely an old building that gives it character. Has a fun pub type atmosphere and the food is decent. Prices are reasonable and the service was prompt and polite. I'd come back here again in the future.
