I
picked
up
take-out
Saturday
evening,
to
eat
during
the
Buckeyes
game.
I
ordered
the
smoked
wings
and
asked
for
them
to
be
done
extra
crispy,
because
I
despise
rubbery
skin
on
chicken
wings.
For
the
second
time
in
as
many
weeks,
the
skin
was
very
rubbery,
almost
as
if
they'd
intentionally
disregarded
my
request.
My
wife's
order
of
pulled
pork
came
in
the
usual
styrofoam
bowl,
but
had
a
watery
liquid
at
the
bottom,
almost
as
if
it
had
been
frozen,
and
then
thawed
in
the
microwave.
When
I
picked
up
my
order
at
6:30
on
a
Saturday
night,
the
place
was
almost
empty.
One
man
sitting
at
the
bar,
and
maybe
6-8
people
sitting
at
booths,
dining
in.
Not
exactly
a
sign
of
a
thriving
business.
Customers
pick
up
take-out
orders
at
the
bar
here,
so
I
ordered
a
drink
while
waiting
for
my
order,
from
a
very
apathetic
and
not
very
friendly
bartender.
I
have
done
business
here,
since
they
opened.
I
could
pull
up
my
receipts
on
my
Quicken
account,
but
I
really
don't
even
want
to
know,
how
much
I've
spent
here,
because
we
used
to
eat
here
almost
once
a
week
for
many
years.
We
also
used
them
for
catering
several
family
events.
That's
how
good
this
place
used
to
be
(and
it's
only
a
few
blocks
from
my
home).
This
place
had
asinine
pandemic
policies,
and
was
even
closed
for
a
period
of
time.
I
tried
to
patronize
them
again,
because
they're
a
local
business,
that
we
had
good
experiences
with
in
the
past,
but
now
I
think
it's
time
to
say
farewell
to
Barleys
Smokehouse.
