Could there be a better bar in Columbus? No probably not. Always filled with welcoming and fabulous people. Come here if you are bringing good vibes.

We went here on a Saturday night with a group of approximately 8 people. They were having show that night including drag and a comedienne. While I understand the performers are there to perform, we are at a bar and trying to have a good time conversing. Now I understand if we are being too loud and someone comes over nicely and asks us to keep the noise down, but for the host of the night to get on the microphone and call out everyone in our entire group, embarrassing us and threatening to taze us later in the evening. Then after the performance, this host came over to our table and started to egg-on members of our group trying to pick a fight. We spent $15 to just enter the place, let alone the money spent on drinks. Again, a simple request to quiet down would have done, but to call us out in front of the entire bar and to threaten physical violence because we were apparently interrupting a comedienne during a performance is completely uncalled for and against the law citing physical harm. The staff needs to learn how to control their performers and handle situations properly.

Loved the show! We had so much fun, the bartenders were really nice and friendly. We weren't sure what to expect, but we had a great time and hope to go back soon!

Best place for entertainment on the north side! Burlesque and wonderful drinks. Everyone there is kind and accepting and after one night you'll feel like you fit in just fine. 20/10 I do recommend

Best dancers in town but the bartenders can be a little "stank face, looking you up and down while you pay the required entrance fee." I had to stop going after a few interactions of that caliber bc I go alone and that kind of interaction combined with social anxiety will just ruin my whole night and make it impossible to socialize or make new friends.

A hidden gem in the Clintonville area, has fun events and shows throughout the week~! The head bartender makes some fantastic cocktails and the shows bring in some serious local talent. Very LGBTQIA friendly and body positive~ 💕

What a show. So many different talents too. Service is excellent. Atmosphere was ok. You could tell it is full of regulars. No food options. I can't say enough about how welcoming the bar tenders are.

OMG. So fun, so affirming. Super nice bar tender. Great drinks. Body positivity all the way around. (I needed that) And the kindest best hottest performers. You will leave feeling like there is a doorway to a different more affirming world cracked open. That's a lot for one night out. If it's been on your list, just go!!!!

So much fun! We happened across the Monday night burlesque show and were blown away! The atmosphere is very inviting and the talent and host like no other. I’m already planning our next visit!

Me and my girlfriend have come here multiple times and we have had nothing but positive experiences! They are one of the only places downtown we’ve felt comfortable going too during the pandemic because of their guidelines. They require every patron to be sitting at a table unless they’re standing at the bar or interacting with the performers and at those times you must wear a mask. Bossy Grrls really feels like less like a bar and more like a sex friendly Bi- POC friendly and queer friendly safe space during this crazy times.

Fantastic little place, just went to one of their shows last night and had the best time I've had in three years at a bar.

Nice folks. We went to see the show, Snake oil and Shenanigans, with Fire dancing. Good fun. all of the preformers were very good. It's a small bar, its a little risque $5.00 cover, great cheap entertainment.

I've visited Bossy Grrl's off and on over the years, and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Unfortunately, I've had an experience that changed my mind. I was part of a group who asked for a slap shot, but didn't expect to lose 40% of my hearing because they didn't know not to cup their hand over my ear. Another member has a perforated eardrum and has been bleeding out of his ear for a week. Yeah, I agreed to be slapped, but no, I didn't agree to inner ear and sinus trauma. That's negligent. Thanks for the permanent hearing loss. Take the slap shot off the menu and for other patrons - don't ask for it.

Once I paid my cover with my card. I waited at the bar for brief moment. Then, i tried to get attention of the bartender by raising my hand specifically to get my card back and all I did was raise my hand. I was accused of yelling and couldnt get service. My girlfriend had to order the drinks and get my card back. Raising your hand is not yelling. The whole experience ruined a good night out for me; shocked for an inclusive facility to be this exclusionary.

My husband took me to a burlesque show, Friday Cryptic themed. Absolutely the best time, I've never been before can't wait to go back. Drinks were delicious. Staff is amazing, the owner is Gorgeous inside and out. I've never felt safer at bar. So body positive. Do not sleep on this Gem of a bar!!

We did karaoke here and it was wonderful! Great atmosphere, wonderful staff and it attracts wonderful people! But yes. Please stop by on Karaoke night for a really wonderful time!

Truly a superb establishment. Some of the most exciting and entertaining performances I've seen in Columbus. I've had multiple unforgettable evenings here, and I look forward to more to come.

The bartender, Marla is awesome. She always makes me feel welcome and makes some great drinks. The performers are incredible as well.

Sooo much fun!!! We went on a Friday for Karaoke! I wish we would have stayed for Femme’s Giving but the rest of our group wanted to go to Old North Arcade. It is a very queer spot. I absolutely will be back.

A beautiful space with accommodating staff. Very welcoming! Celebrated Astraea's bday there!

One of the absolute treasures of Columbus nightlife! Safe and considerate before and during the pandemic with a focus on performance and boi does their rotating cast of burlesque, karaoke, poetry, drag, trivia and music performers bring it! The owner is a great steward of the establishment which has made great improvements year after year. 10/10 can't miss in Columbus!

The staff is always very nice and welcoming to me. I haven’t had a bad experience yet, and it’s an environment that I feel really safe in. The decor of the place is also really cool and unique.

Really cool atmosphere and the staff was nice. They dont have coffee or food and the seating is a bit awkward for bigger groups.

PROS: Great vibe, welcoming atmosphere, really cool people, very strong drinks (Cincinnati Skyline was GREAT!). CONS: Very, very small space. Small stage. Awkward view/seating arrangement. People were packed in like sardines (because the place had such a cool vibe, performers, and customers), very hot with little air flow, and could be quite claustrophobic and uncomfortable for people who have disabilities or social anxiety.

Good drinks, service, and entertainment! I went for a drag show on a Monday evening, but there was not seating enough for us at the bar... Therefore we had to watch from a screen in the back room. Really cool murals on the walls though! And clean bathrooms.

Woah.. loud passive aggressive complaining about money woes over the microphone and bad attitudes from the staff. No thanks! Left after 10 minutes, never going back.

  • 5/5 Anne G. 2 years ago on Google
Warm and friendly staff, open and accepting atmosphere, unique entertainment, quirky decor, and great drinks. . . what's not to love? One of Columbus' best lil gems IMHO. 🌈 Full disclosure, they hired my band to play there when we were just starting out, but to me, giving new artists a chance is just one more thing to add to their list of awesomeness 🙏🏻 love Bossy's!!

My favorite Columbus bar. LGTBQ+ friendly and non-gendered single user restrooms. They host karaoke, burlesque, comedy, drag shows, bands, and more. Its a friendly place and I always end up meeting new people when I go. They have a back patio and a few parking spots back there. Also it's a good location because of some of the cool surrounding bars. There's sometimes a food truck out front.
