German: Fol geiler schuppen alder richtig abgemeddelt und auch a weng geheadbangt English: I’ve traveled across America and I’ve never have or will experience a place so original. The staff is friendly, the ale is awesome, and when you go here out of all the other places you could go to, you’ll remember the history of this historic city and the people that make it great. Bring cash, sit back and enjoy this wonderful establishment

Was here for a stand up comedy night. We arrived a little later in the evening and the way it was set up made it difficult to enter without feeling in the way. And even more difficult to get a drink since we had to walk in front of the stage and around the audience to get to the opening in the bar where people were ordering drinks. The stand up was amazing and the environment was really relaxed and comfortable. Highly recommend this place.

The first night I went to the Shrunken Head there was a burlesque show. A Church down the road caught fire and I knew that this place would become my home away from home. I've gotten to meet and know so many badass people here. Any time you can make it out, do so. Comedy every Monday night, trivia every Tues & Thurs, acoustic open mic with the amazing Billy Zenn on Wednesday, live music Thurs-Sat, BRUNCH on Sat. The kitchen with food wizards Mike Wilson and Damian Dowling Sr. There is just a solid staff, all around. Bartenders are attentive and friendly, the sound engineer (Nick Magoteaux) is a damn genius. Five stars and all of these words just aren't enough to express how great of place this is.

Great venue for bands with excellent sound balancing and quality. Good selection of beers. Would be even better if they served bar snacks.

One of only a handful of fun places to go in Columbus... it's too bad that when it sells soon, the new owners want to turn it into another boring Sports Bar instead of keeping its original and unique identity..

Been here for a couple open mics. Great sound system with staff on site, which is surprising for a venue that size. Cozy place that has a pretty good selection of beer. Has an interesting selection of food. Will definitely be back.

Open mics here are a hell of a way to spend your Wednesday night. Great music (as good as an open mic can be) with a wide variety of acts and performances. Beer and liquor have a good selection. Certainly has a trendy dive bar interior but surely a place with a lot of character (decor and patrons alike)

AttentionTouring bands! THIS IS THE SPOT. This venue was insanely legit . Best Sound we have had on our entire 2 week tour, Nick who runs this place is a total sweetheart and sound gangster. His attention to detail on what you need to hear on stage is insane !- Local bands drew a great crowd here , the locals/crowd were super into everything and with loud applause ! and we had the most amazing time. There is also some wonderful regulars here that can add to the draw which is always ideal on tour ! You will be very happy playing on stage here! Thanks again to The Shrunken Head for a very enjoyable tour stop/show !

I am from out of state and was having a hard time finding a place I truly enjoyed . I found this place downtown and fell in love with the motif. I walked in and was told that there was a 15.00 cover as there would be live music that night . I was informed that normally there is no cover. I was willing to pay and am so glad I did! The bands were awesome and sound quality was great! Service from the bar was quick and they didn't skimp me on my gin like most places do. The place was filled with patrons in rockabilly wear. The patio has a great back yard feel to it with clinging ivy and a small private area if you don't want to be in the center . If I find myself in Ohio again I will be sure to come back.

Awesome place. Heather is awesome and the blonde on comedy night was very cool as well. Being a bartender of 25 plus years, I look for attentiveness and friendliness. These girls have both and are like a "breath of fresh air" in the "college bar" scene. Keep up the great work! I will be back!

I crept in for a little to see what the comedy was about recently . Usually I don’t go to places I’m unfamiliar with but a lady friend told me. I’m not going to say I fit right in but they were super welcoming, never felt uncomfortable, bartenders were cool. Drinks were good . This is literally a everybody place . I’ll be back and might have to do a comedy show myself . Great place keep it up

Ciao gringos. Change your name and get 5 stars. Hasta luego, pendojos. "Cultural appropriation takes place when members of a majority group adopt cultural elements of a minority group in an exploitative, disrespectful, or stereotypical way. To fully understand its consequences, though, we need to make sure we have a working definition of culture itself..." [Britannica] "The Shuar are an Indigenous people of Ecuador and Peru. They are members of the Jivaroan peoples, who are Amazonian tribes living at the headwaters of the Marañón River. A shrunken head is a severed and specially prepared human head that is used for trophy, ritual, or trade purposes. Headhunting has occurred in many regions of the world, but the practice of headshrinking has only been documented in the northwestern region of the Amazon rainforest.[1] Jivaroan peoples, which includes the Shuar, Achuar, Huambisa and Aguaruna tribes from Ecuador and Peru, are known to have shrunken human heads. Shuar people call a shrunken head a tsantsa,[2] also transliterated tzantza. Many tribe leaders would show off their heads to scare enemies. Shrunken heads are known for their mandibular prognathism, facial distortion and shrinkage of the lateral sides of the forehead; these are artifacts of the shrinking process. Among the Shuar and Achuar, the reduction of the heads was followed by a series of feasts centered on important rituals.[citation needed]" [Wikipedia]

Best neighborhood bar, ally friendly, good music, great staff, and amazing events! The Shrunken Head is a true neighborhood gem. During COVID they have been safe and respectful. Now that restrictions have been lifted all over, I am happy to say that this place makes me feel welcome, entertained, and safe. Love my Shrunkeys!!!

Prices are a little steep. Two basic beers set me back $9. However, they also have new PBR hard coffee, which is amazing. Sound guy (Nick) is a perfectionist, which makes it great for the audience, but I personally think it removes are the rawness of coming to a live punk/rock show. Biggest gripe is the parking situation. Everywhere has a "no parking between hours of ** and **" and is very confusing.

Always enjoy coming here, always laughing! Just know what you want to drink or the bartender will move on with no problem. Monday and Friday are comedy nights.

Heard good things about your spot. But struggling to find a booking page or email. The one I found online isn’t working and we tried dming your instagram but it was never opened. If you could offer insight it would be much appreciated. Thank you
