Off the main road with outside seating you have this amazing fried chicken place. Since I was alone I decided to sit at the bar and order food. It was a very quiet Sunday. The bar tender was very attentive and provided recommendations. I had the French fries (dining sauce is amazing). The fried chicken sandwich which was a nice size full of flavor and that spicy mayo packs the extra kick. My only suggestion is to toast the bread for that extra texture. The corn bread skillet, honestly don't remember what they called it but it was out of this world. I would highly recommend this place and will be back!!

My wife, daughter, and I visited this place around 7pm on a Friday night. Parking was difficult to find. We were seated outside as the inside was full. We preferred the outside seating anyway. Our waitress was prompt and friendly. We started with hush puppies as an appetizer which came out immediately. They were crispy on the outside and soft/ moist in the inside. Sweet with a little kick. Sauce was delicious. We ordered the full fried chicken ($30) with a side of Mac and cheese ($8) and spoon bread ($7). The chicken was so delicious. Crispy skin seasoned with such great flavors. Most fried chicken places that serve breasts usually serve dry chicken but even the white meat was juicy. The Mac n cheese was a big hit with my 9 year old. And the spoon bread was a great sweet complement to the meal. One of my favorite places in Columbus so far. A must visit.

Laid back and comfortable atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Space was clean and inviting. The service was amazing, she was very nice and attentive. The spicy chicken dip had a perfect balance of cheese & spiciness. I couldn't stop eating it! The Pimento cheese plate was interesting. I enjoyed the pickled green beans & pickles. It's different but interestingly good. Fried chicken was crispy and flavorful to the bone. Spoonbread was very good. Mac and cheese was basic it could use more seasoning, and the mashed potatoes were good but average. Fries average. The grilled cheese has apples on it. My friend loved it. Bourbon punch was refreshing. You must try it. Top picks: Spicy chicken dip, Fried chicken, spoonbread and Bourbon punch. I absolutely will be returning to try some other options. There is garage and street parking available..

A fantastic southern comfort food spot, the eagle is fantastic. Simple menu with lots of fun options and delicious food. Below I got the fried chicken sandwich with a side of succotash, both fantastic. We ordered hush puppies for the table and the spoon bread which I highly recommend. Overall great late night spot to eat or drink, would recommend to anybody.

Great vibe with lovely art pieces inside the joint. Two stories with different atmospheres features on each level. Great to watch the game, have drinks or connect with friends. Food was decent - tasty. Only complaint and lost them a whole star, there is NO dessert! Fix it!

A lively place in the city's Short North District that has great food and great atmosphere. Enjoyed the chicken sandwich and my friend had the chicken club! Very tasty, juicy, chicken and the portions are nice-sized. They have an outdoor dining area that looks inviting. It was a bit cold to eat out when we went. Looking forward to going back to enjoy the patio!

Food was really good. The chicken is some of the best I've had. Fries, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were great as well. The jalepeno mayo is $$ Ask for Collin. He is awesome! Very informative and made sure we were well taken care of.

Food was really good, but just a bit salty. Had the summer salad with herb chicken. Half portion was a good size and the dressing was nice. Chicken blt was also good. Frys could be a little crispier, or they got soggy while we waited for ketchup. Nice patio area.

Hubby and I LOVEEE eating here! The food never disappoints. We always share a whole chicken and 2-3 sides! The biscuits are delicious, especially with the jam and butter. He’s a big fan of the Mac and cheese, to me it’s just eh! We also love the cornbread and sometimes we get the fries depending on our mood(but usually not you can get fries anywhere)!! Repeat customers for life.

I ordered the 1/4th chicken dark meat, Mac and cheese, and the sweet potato crock. The chicken could have used a little more seasoning. I was cooked to perfection though. That hot honey sauce is a amazing! The Mac and cheese was really great. Cheesy! The sweet potato crock was not my favorite. The sweet potato didn't taste very well without the marshmallow topping. Or rather too plain. It needed some butter, cinnamon, nutmeg something. A manager or supervisor Travis came over there and he noticed that I only ate a little bit of it so he gave me little app vouchers for the next time I was in town since I already paid my bill. My server Zack was polite, prompt, and very attentive. Can't wait to go back and try other items.

The atmosphere is perfect and the blues music isn't too loud. The service is good. The chicken is lightly floured with flavor. Might be the top fried chicken in Columbus. Maybe. The bad part is all the sides are not good. Well I would say it doesn't taste like the south. So we normally just order 1 whole chicken and fries. Yes I have had every side and didn't like any of them. My southern taste buds rejected all the sides but loved the chicken. If you go when it's cold outside you will freeze. The inside feels like a huge doorway with a draft blowing in. Every window has a bad draft. Now if it's warm outside you can sit outside or anywhere and be fine. The winter upstairs is the warmest place. Everywhere else you will freeze. Seating on the highboy tables your feet will dangle. Only heals will touch the small ledge. It's better to sit at the bar or the floor.

the chicken BLT was so freaking good. it was cooked perfectly and everything tasted amazing. a little bit pricey but that's to be expected for a short north restaurant.

Not impressed at all. It was ok at best. The sweet potatoes were good but the grits were starless. What a waste of our money and time.

So I was definitely disappointed we couldn't be seated showing up a little late for the Covid last call at 915 but I was very happy with their desire to help me and my friends get drinks and food to go. My friends were drunk and a little ridiculous so they were ordering like 15 drinks to go and food and of course changed their minds 100 times. They did a great job trying to accommodate us and got us the good and drinks we needed to have a good night at our hotel out of covid land.

Stopped in for lunch and had an absolutely perfect experience! Our server, Mya, was so friendly and attentive! She really made our meal enjoyable! We got the fried chicken sandwich, Carolina braised pork sandwich, mac & cheese and horseradish mashed potatoes. Everything was perfect! So full of flavor and cooked just right! Good food, reasonable prices, fast and friendly service - what else are we looking for? I'll be back!

Went here with a friend this Saturday night, and had to wait awhile for a drink. We understand that alcohol is to stop at 10, so we wanted to get two drinks each, but was told that we could not, due to policy. Was told that there is a limit, but that we could get another one if we finish the beers we had before 10 o'clock(mind you it's 5 min. Before 10). This makes no sense, what is the difference between getting two beers now, and getting another one after we finish the first one...it's still the same amount of beer. The restaurant is listed as closing at 11 on Saturdays, of course with alcohol stopping at 10. Luckily one of the bartenders allowed us to get another beer, at the very last minute, after waving her down. We really wanted fries, while we finish are beers, since they were staying open till 11. We were told that we had to get it to-go, which makes no sense. If we're allowed to sit here and drink, why can't we eat an order of fries while we drink? We left around 10:30p.m., and literally could've eaten the one order of fries by the time we left. I know this seems like a petty review, but it's the little things that can make or break a guest experience. Just a little feedback for the future.

Actually stumbled upon the Eagle after leaving Lincoln Social and walking around the short north with the misses, we were hungry and this place hit the spot. Thenchicken was seasoned wonderfully, the collards were delicious, the mac and cheese wasn't my favorite but got much better as the sauce settled. We had a pitcher of the blackberry lemonade which hit the spot but not too much to get you drunk. We will definitely visit again. The hot honey was a pleasant surprise and bonus points for having Crystal's hot sauce which the misses loved as a west coast patron 😉

This place has a great vibe and the service is great. Our waitress Kim was AMAZING. She was very polite, professional, and attentive. The food was good, however their menu is very limited and most of the choices are spicy and of course I don't like spicy. My husband loves spicy food so he enjoyed the shrimp & grits I ordered because they were too spicy for me to eat. He also enjoyed the spicy chicken dip and we both really liked the fried chicken and mac and cheese. We won't be dining again but we may go in for cocktails.

Can I give the ten stars?!? Man I could go on forever. The atmosphere is always great, the service is great! Smiles and greetings at the front! The takeout is always on point. Sauce is in the bag, food is hot! Tea is sweet and dark like molasses. One of my favorites! Try them out!! You cannot beat this fried chicken sandwich! 🤤 oh and DO NOT forget the hot honey boiii!

I was craving a quality, craft chicken sandwich and googled the best one in Columbus which brought me to the Eagle Short North. I ordered a cocktail, a chicken sandwich, the cornbread, and the max and cheese and it was all absolutely delicious! I’m from the South originally and this really scratched my southern comfort food itch. The cornbread was especially my favorite because it was a great texture and a great salty sweet combo! Also the service was top notch! I sat at the bar, and Josh was my server/bartender and he was so attentive and kind! I really appreciated his menu recommendations and all of his super funny jokes (he’s a hoot!) I’m so excited to return in the future!

The restaurant has more food variety than your average bar. The grilled cheese is delicious. The French fries were average. The Blackberry Lemonade (with alcohol) was pretty good. The waitress was kind and attentive. The placement of the t.v.s are bit off if you are not sitting at the bar. I could not see the entire t.v. sitting at the table.

Great atmosphere & super nice and fast customer service!! I ordered a Bunch of food just because I wanted to try everything lol. We first ordered the hush puppies which were amazing!! Next - I got the Chicken and it was great, my boyfriend got the chicken sandwich and fries and loved it! I also got shrimp and grits, it was OK. Macaroni and cheese was great! Didn’t care for the collard greens at all tho.

My husband and I went here for the first time and had an AMAZING experience! Highly recommend if you enjoy well seasoned good! Terrific food, tasty drinks, and most importantly fabulous service. Shout out to Craig and Travis for the wonderful service! We are very picky when it comes to food and typically when food is dry or under seasoned, we use sauces. No SAUCES needed! The chicken was moist and the breading seasoned. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend this place if you haven’t tried it or are in town visiting Columbus!

Food was great, service was good, they were a lil busy but they were on top of everything!! I went here for my little cuz birthday and it was nice. I got the fried chicken sandwich and Mac and cheese, the sandwich was delicious the Mac and cheese was decent but I also tasted the sweet potatoes and those are bomb, also get the spicy honey sauce when you go ...it's amazing!

Perfect southern comfort food. Everything was delicious and comparison to New Orleans.. even down to the Bloody Mary! Portions are shareable and environment is warm and inviting. Servers are also very sweet! I’ll keep it short - eat here! You won’t regret it.

I like to go an try new places all the time and make sure I hit my basics to test if I will come back with someone for a full review. I decided to stop into The Eagle on the recommendation of a good foodie friend. It wasn't quite late enough for me to have a heavy dish but Apps and a drink is always a safe bet. I ordered a High Street Crush cocktail with the Pimento Cheese Plate accompanied by the Sausage and Kale Dip. The drink was refreshing as the grapefruit and lemon juice settle the Apersol and Miller Highlife. The dip was spicy but not too bad at all. I enjoyed the cheese plate the most as it offered many flavor combinations based on how and what you mixed. Overall The Eagle gets my vote on a return visit to try something else exquisite! #ScotchWithE

I was a group of 5 of us ( me, my 2 sisters, nephew and husband). We want for a going away dinner which was not the best tasting food. The chicken tasted freezer burn and I found a bug in one of our orders of macaroni and cheese. We all was quisy and sick to our stomaches. Definitely won't go and eat here again. I will be reaching out to a manager about our whole experience.

I’m a pescatarian and ordered the cheese grits, add blackened shrimp on Uber eats. When it arrived and I saw how runny it was, I called the restaurant and they explained that when you request to add shrimp, they also add chicken gravy. No where on the Uber eats app or the Eagle’s online menu says that chicken gravy is added to the grits when you add shrimp. As a result, I was unable to eat this meal. I have had other items from the Eagle before (such as their winter salad, add shrimp) that were great. I just wish they would be transparent about the fact that if you add shrimp to the grits, you’re also going to get chicken gravy.

We went for a family gathering after my sister's graduation and shared a whole chicken and a half and shared a bunch of sides. The prices are good and I love the seating - family-style. Warm ambience as well. Everything was very tasty! Definitely try the spoonbread! Highly recommend.

  • 4/5 Danielle T. 3 years ago on Google
This place has a pretty nice ambiance and the wait staff is very friendly. Being from the south though I wasn't falling out of my seat for most of the menu items but overall things were good. The fried chicken was okay but I feel like it could have used a little more seasoning and been a little juicer. I tried a bite of my friends chicken sandwich and that was really good even though I am not usually a fan of cole slaw so I will probably get that the next time I'm here since I'm sure I will be back. I like that the sides are big enough to share with friends but it would be nice if there was some sort of combo in case you are a solo diner like I usually am. The sweet potato croc (yams) were not quite as sweet as I would have liked, but it was really cute with the roasted marshmallows. The mac & cheese is delicious though! The patio is really nice especially in the summer. I ordered an Eagle iced tea to drink, it was very lemony and more bitter than I usually expect from a traditional long island, but they were nice about it and exchanged it for something else. The sweet tea was also okay but definitely won't give you diabetes like it does in the south lol.

We were here on a busy weekend, and they found us a great table in a timely manner. Our server had a trainee and that simply made a great experience, exceptional. Food is always great, and save room for the amazing sides. Full bar with good local draft choices were also "on the menu." See you again!

I Ordered the orange chicken lunch special, and it was pretty good. I drove about 5 min to get home and open it up, and the chicken was still crispy. I like that they deep fry it so it stays crunchy even after a few minutes in a takeout container. ...

It was marvelous and gave the good feeling of southern hospitality. The Blackened Shrimp Po Boy is wonderful with the hot sauce. The traditional fried chicken, collard greens, grits, mac and cheese is unresistable.
