I've probably had the typical American-style Chinese food hundreds of times and you always know what to expect. This place blows those expectations out of the water and serves up some distinct and delicious dishes from another region of China. We had the Beef Noodle Soup, Edamame, Salt & Pepper Tofu, and the Spicy Twice Cooked Fish. All of them were great. The soup has a flavorful and slightly spicy broth that goes well with the noodles and bok choy. The tofu dish was excellent - and I'm not even a fan of tofu. The fish was packed with flavors and perfectly cooked.

Definitely LOVE the place! If you’re from northeastern China and miss the authentic taste, this’s absolutely the go-to-place in Columbus. Just keep in mind that you gotta order the 东北大拉皮 one day ahead of time.

I've been twice and had takeout once. Everything has been very flavorful. I have not tried any of the American menu but the Chinese menu is awesome. The Salt and Pepper Tofu and Eggplant with soybean paste were excellent. The Mapo tofu without meat was good but a little 1 note. I would only get it again with a lot of people where we were sharing. The restaurant is a little cozy and not fancy but has always been clean with friendly service.

Honestly amazing, the reviews are true! I ordered the pan fried dumplings, spicy fried chicken (C3) and the beef noodle soup (M2). Everything is super flavorful, and still hot/crispy even with a long delivery time. Only possible negative was the beef was on the fattier side, but thats a personal preference, and could be a positive to others. If you're looking for not-mall-quality Chinese food, this is it!

I'm not sure what the hype is about. I was really excited to try the spicy twice-cooked fish since it's rated as being the most liked/popular dish. The flavor was great but the quality of the fish was not-so great, especially for $20. It's as if they took the thinnest and smallest pieces of fish they could find, then heavily drenched them in batter before frying them. I like fried fish and all but I like more fish than batter. By the time I removed much of the batter, I had a heaping pile of batter and collected about 3-4 bites of actual fish - which were delicious.... I'm just disappointed and annoyed by the quality and price of the dish. I definitely would not order it again. I also ordered the shrimp and I must say, I'm not a fan of having to clean the digestive tract (poop line) from all my shrimp when I order from a restaurant.

Wow. That was some of the best takeout I have had in a while. Cilantro pork, peppercorn beef, spicy potato salad, salt and pepper tofu, and cream custard buns. So many flavors that were new to me, and everything was fantastic. Staff was SO friendly and accommodating, too!

We've eaten here a total of 4 times. The food is excellent, and the portions are generous. However, I won't be going back. Our last order was a takeout order placed online at 6:35pm. The system told us our food would be ready at 6:59. We got a call at 6:45, saying our order wouldn't be ready until 7:25 or 7:30. I showed up at 7:30 and was told "another 5-10 minutes". At 8:00--nearly 90 minutes after we placed our order--our food was finally ready. I told them I wanted my money back. The manager told me very rudely "Just take it!" (meaning the food) and claimed she'd refund my money within 5 days. It's been a full 2 weeks now, and no refund. I know there could be about a million valid reasons why our food took so long. But what's more important to me is the way they handled the situation when I complained.

One of my friend really likes this place. He ordered and dined in several times with me, while I feel their food great but a little mediocre.

A quaint, rustic oriental place with good food and friendly service. I always have the shrimp lomein with an egg roll and a cola cola. I love it.

Not sure how authentic the food is. The cumin lamb dish has too many whole cumin seeds. The seeds failed to provide the flavor and made the meat tasted bitter. The "Guo Bao Rou" (fried pork), supposed the local specialty, is quite lame. I do like the fried eggplant in garlic source. Don't remember the Chinese NE cuisine has all these deep fried dishes 😂 Aside from the food, I am unhappy that the restaurant is charging an extra 4% or so surcharge, when people pay wilth their credit card. 😔

Get the spicy twice cooked fish. Don’t think too hard about it. Don’t question why you are ordering fish from a small Chinese restaurant. Do it and remember, it’s cooked twice, I can’t get sick, right? In all seriousness this is one of my favorite restaurants. It is authentic and delicious. Don’t be disappointed when you crave it and it’s Tuesday and they’re closed. Spicy twice cooked fish, Szechuan green beans and the spicy pork with cilantro are great choices!

Good Chinese food for take out. Decent prices for what you get, just not necessarily top tier. I say, "Good for take out" because there is no real atmosphere for dining in and they're not too keen on AC in warm to hot times of the year, like right now. I'd suggest trying one of their base dishes and go from there.

If you can show me another spot as good as this, I will be surprised. I have lived in Columbus all of my life, over 30 years, and I have been to just about every "great" Chinese food ever. Northeast Chinese not only has excellent, fresh tasting food, their prices are more reasonable than anything I've seen that compares. Here's the thing, nothing compares. Sometimes I will have meals of theirs 2 and 3 days later and their chicken and vegetables are still fresh tasting and crispy. I've been in the food service industry a long time and I know the difference between quality food and care, versus the latter. This food is some of my favorite and you will absolutely not regret visiting this place. To top it off, the people who run the place are absolutely amazing, kind, and always grateful for our business. I hope this place stays around forever!

Friendly staff, fast and very delicious eats. As authentic as you can get in the US. Definitely worth stopping by for lunch, dinner, or to grab your food to go!

I tryed the NE Chinese Restaurant a few Sunday's ago, cause they had pretty solid reviews. I ordered the Chicken eggroll and Chicken and Broccoli. The eggrolls were pretty good. The Chicken and Broccoli was also good. The only compliant was that the brown sauce was a bit too sweet than what I'm used to. And there wasn't much Chicken in the dish. But still an overall great dish.

Been meaning to try this place for years now, finally made it in. This place rules. I can’t wait to go back. Had the spicy beef noodle soup and spring rolls. Spring rolls were a little undercooked but I can forgive it. The soup was great, and an absolute ton of food. The guy who took my order was great. No notes. Keep it up.

Speed and service 5/5. Flavor 6/5. Texture 5/5. Price: definitely worth it. This place has the best salt and pepper tofu in all of Columbus, I promise. I have recently started getting something other than that every time and also find the cumin tofu to be absolutely phenomenal. I love their mixed veggies and the freshness of the veggies in all of their dishes, I have tried many various dishes from this restaurant and they are all exceptional in my opinion. I always drive a little further for this place because it’s simply the best. Thanks so much!

Not my cup of tea. Gizzard appetizer is served cold with raw carrots. Might just be me not understanding Northeast China quisine, but I'd take Panda Express over this.

Ordered takeout from here for the family a few weeks ago. Everything we tried was good. Even my mom was impressed, and she's hard to please. She commented that there was enough wok hei in the dishes.

The food and staff were amazing. We were greeted upon entering and I noticed straight away how clean it was. The waitress was extremely helpful when we were ordering, ensuring we knew what we were getting , which overall enhanced the dining experience. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a small diner-style Chinese restaurant that serves fresh, well cooked food.

For $13.47; Singapore noodle portion size is 25% too small. The container should be deeper by another 1 inch. Quality: 5/5 Size: 1/5 Fair Price Should Be: $8.99 NOTE: I will never be coming back. Inflation is out of control.

The best place in Columbus for real authentic Chinese food! Also the portions are so big for the price!! My favorite thing is the Cumin Potatoes!

As an asian but not chinese, this restaurant provided us tasty american-chinese foods with affordable prices. We ordered General Tso's chicken, Braised pork belly and lo mein w/ shrimp. (From left to right in the first picture) All tastes amazing and the amount of foods are extraordinary. We loved lots of meats and the hugh-sized shrimps. All of the foods were cooked beyond my expectation. The texture of pork belly was smooth but not totally shredded. Shrimp was cooked perfectly (Look at the sizes!! I sometimes disappointed when I see overcooked shrimp.) And the sweet and a bit spicy tastes of Genetal tso's sauce was the best in town or at least our neighborhood. In summary, their foods were satisfactory and I'll have them again for future instead of Panda Express.

Never again. Just threw $20+ food in the trash after trying one bite of the tofu home style (bright red with pepper and smelled like vinegar and did NOT have vegetables as promised) and even the cucumber salad was completely covered with red pepper powder and flakes. I've had both of these all over town and never so hot that I could not eat them. So just go to Kroger's and grab something from the deli case, dump a bag of hot pepper sauce on it, take one bite and throw it out, and you'll still have saved 50% over what happened to me. Both of these were not marked with peppers on the menu. I did not ask for spicy. What a waste of money, time, and food.

Best Chinese restaurant in Cbus. Always satisfied by their consistency and quality. Their Sichuan pepper chicken is the best.

Love this place. Owners are friendly and food is really flavorful. The hot and sour fern noodles and salt and pepper tofu were incredible!
