Our server, Eva Monet, was a rock star! She was playing hostess, server, and bartender when we visited for lunch on Saturday, February 26. She was very pleasant, on the ball, and suggested that I order the Shrimp Americana. A very good recommendation! It was amazing! My husband got crab cakes and lobster bisque - best lobster bisque I've ever had, and he felt the same. Side note - not in Mitchell's or Eva Monet's control - the couple that sat beside us was on a speaker call for practically the entire time they were there. RUDE. Just thought I'd get that off my chest - what are people thinking?! We definitely still recommend Columbus Fish Market.

Very Disappointing. Incredibly overpriced for really bad food. The photo of the fish sandwich sums it up. Small portion and horribly cooked. A McDonald’s fish filet would have been a better choice. They seriously need to change their oil. The piece of fish was smoked…, way overcooked and tasted of rancid oil. Inedible. The fries were cold, dry and lifeless and the two bites of coleslaw were sour. And this was a $17+ dollar sandwich. Like I said, very disappointing. My wife order the $29 lobster and shrimp stuffed cod. The best part of both meals was the cod. Not dry, and flavorful. The stuffing had zero lobster and one minuscule shrimp. Three sprigs of uncooked asparagus and a serving of cold, uninspired mashed potatoes rounded out her meal. There are a wealth of much better restaurants to compete for our business. I’d highly recommend you skip this place and try Cap City or Morettis (same neighborhood) for a far superior meal at the same price point. Disappointing really doesn’t capture things adequately, more like I was robbed. But you know the old adage, screw me once, shame on you…. This will be our last meal with Mitchell’s fish house.

A nice fish spot in Columbus. Highly recommend the lobster bisque! Came for a special lunch. Staff was very friendly. Food was pretty good. Many fried options which weren't what we expected but still yummy. A little pricey but delicious. Worth a try when you're in the area

We ate here randomly for lunch, having never heard of this place. We were SO happy we did! Lunch was so tasty and very, very reasonably priced. A 6 oz filet with asparagus and potatoes was like 38 bucks?? The steaks were cooked absolutely perfect to our requests. Our waitstaff was kind and checked in on us repeatedly, always on top of everything. The oysters were big and delicious. Surf and turf was great!!!!! For a place we randomly stumbled into, we now plan on eating here whenever we can when we're in town around lunch time. Wow!

Nice atmosphere. Food was decent, but wasn't as good as I expected based on other reviews. I guess based on the price of the food and after previewing the menu before I went, I expected more. I ordered shrimp fettuccine, as pictured. Shrimp was a bit chewy and the noodles were a little bit too Al dente. The sauce was good though. Service was a 10/10. I'm not so sure about the community around the restaurant. In their parking lot there are signs suggesting leaving valuables in your trunk. And one of the parking spots I parked next to had broken glass in it. So do what the signs say and don't leave your valuables in your car. As a single female, I definitely wouldn't have wanted to leave this establishment after dark.

The best meal I’ve ever had! We went there for our wedding anniversary and we ordered the calamari, the seafood gumbo soup, the salmon, and the shanghai sea food sampler. I hate calamari, but the calamari here is amazing!! The dipping sauce is 1000/10! Get the seafood gumbo! It’s very smoky and very delicious! I wish I could order a gallon of it. The salmon was the best salmon I’ve ever had. Way worth the price. The mashed potatoes that came with it were so creamy and delicious. The Shanghai seafood sample was delicious as well, but too small of a portion. But I must say the sea scallops are mind blowing and the sauce that comes with the dish is phenomenal. Our waiter was very kind, quick, and responsive to our needs. We will be returning!!

Their happy hour was amazing serving with a variety of good food such as fish sandwich, crispy shrimps and blacken fish tacos. The service was great and quick. The food tasted fine but not as fresh as a decent seafood restaurant. One thing need to be solved is that the air smelled weird in the dining food. They could make their AC powerful.

I had the pleasure of dining at the Columbus Fish Market in Ohio, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with warmth and genuine friendliness, creating an inviting atmosphere that set the tone for the entire meal. The restaurant's upscale ambiance added a touch of elegance to the evening. The attention to detail in minimalistic decor and layout was impressive, contributing to a comfortable and sophisticated dining environment. However, the true highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the food. The culinary creations that emerged from the kitchen were nothing short of outstanding. The flavors were exquisite, and each dish was expertly prepared, showcasing the freshest seafood and ingredients. It's evident that the chefs at Columbus Fish Market take great pride in their craft. What truly stood out, though, was the impeccable customer service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of the dining experience was exceptional. Their genuine care for the patrons was evident in every interaction, making me feel valued and well taken care of throughout the meal. In my book, Columbus Fish Market deserves the #1 spot in customer service. The combination of super friendly and inviting staff, an upscale atmosphere, and outstanding food make it a must-visit dining destination. Whether you're a seafood enthusiast or simply seeking a memorable culinary experience, this restaurant has it all.

My experience at Columbus Fish Market was lovely. I made a reservation online, which was incredibly easy. We arrived a couple of minutes after our reservation due to traffic, but were still seated right away. Everything from our drinks to our apps to our entrees were just delightful. Everything arrived on time, and our glasses were never empty, thanks to our server. The only complaint I will make is that the booths don't accommodate larger people very well. My husband is 6' 4". He could barely fold himself into the space provided.

I rarely give out 5 stars and maybe it was partially because this was the first solo day + dinner experience since my wife had our 3rd kiddo, but they did a great job with the food and ambiance. I ordered a Caesar add-on salad with the ribeye + lobster combo meal. Originally I planned to only have a few bites of the salad to save room but ended up eating the whole thing. I thought this was going to be a mistake, but it was not. My wife and I finished our appetizers (spicy shrimp and oysters on a half shell), our drinks, a salad and still finished our main courses. Timing of everything was pretty solid too - not rushed and not so slow that you're idling sipping water to pass the time. Dessert and after-dinner drinks were good too. We'll definitely go back again. Since we went all out on this dinner it was quite pricy - about $230 with tax and tip for the two of us. But again, a 5 star experience isn't going to be a $30 meal.

Sat at bar for dinner. 2 bartenders for a "busy" Saturday night during restaurant week that was never really that busy. Service was average at bar. CBC IPA was way overpriced at 6 bucks for not a 12oz pour. The oysters were fresh and delicious at 3.50 each. The ahi tuna bowl was large and very fresh for 21 bucks. It will fill you up. The fresh seared scallops (4-5 per order) were prepared well for 27 bucks. This being said, the food was good. Solid. Not great. The atmosphere of the establishment is blue and white and dull and....blah. Overall, it was fairly clean, although the bar needs a good once over on both sides. The men's restroom was small but clean and stocked. The manager had a strong front of house presence. Attire was all over the place from jeans to suits. Remember, restaurant week brings all kinds out for new experiences. All this was mostly expected as I've been here before, but it has been 10 years or so since the last visit. 4 beers, 6 oysters, ahi bowl and scallops was 100 bucks. Service was manageable. I wish I was blown away, but overall it was just another night out. I'll be back, but I'll definitely visit other places in the meantime.

Classy seafood joint with all your typical seafood fares. Nice environment, tasty food & decently priced when it comes to seafood. One of the highlights is that they offer a wide variety of fish versus some establishments only have a small selection. All in all, great experience & worth coming back to!

I ordered carry out, ordered twin lobster tails, shrimp and lobster stuffed cod, and shrimp appetizer. Upon arrival, food was delayed for pick up by 30 mins., but the restaurant was empty. Once we arrived home our lobster tails were RAW! We attempted to call to notify staff, but there is no way to reach anyone because no one answers the phone! We tried for a half hour and left voicemails. Needless to say, we had to cook the lobster tails ourselves for dinner. Absolutely unacceptable given the price. This is the worst experience I have had from a Mitchell’s restaurant in Columbus. Save your money.

Our server Gregory was fantastic. He deserves 5 Stars. He was attentive and wonderful. However, the food was not the type of seafood I expect at the price point. I ordered seared scallops. They should have had a nice hard sear and be buttery almost inside. Mine were over cooked, rubbery, and tasted almost like they were broiled first and then seared as an afterthought. My husband ordered scallops as well and his were also chewy and overdone. We are seafood lovers and hoped we has found our new favorite seafood spot. This was our first visit and we left disappointed.

The Columbus Fish Market Experience (Dine-in Edition). While away visiting Columbus, Ohio, for a work conference, colleagues and I dined at the Columbus Fish Market. We made a fast dash to the restaurant before happy hour ended. Upon entering, we sat in the dining room but soon realized we needed to be in the bar area to get the happy hour specials. Once in the bar area, we were greeted and ordered drinks. I ordered a margarita and lobster bisque from the happy hour menu. For my meal, I ordered the "Todays Catch," Sixity South Salmon, served with smashed redskins, and fresh vegetables, but I substituted the potatoes for a salad. I also had them add teriyaki sauce to the salmon. While waiting for my food, I visited the restrooms, which appeared clean. Once returning, my drink was ready and at my table. The drinks were incredible! I cannot stress that enough. The soup did not have any lobster in it and was a broth. I mentioned this to the individual in the bar area and was told that the bisque usually has meat. The salmon was overcooked and needed some flavor, so I asked for more sauce but was given some buttered sauce. My salad never made it with my food, and after asking several times, it was eventually served, but I had already eaten my food. The manager did come out and asked about things while I was waiting for my salad, and I explained I had been waiting for a while. The server finally brought my salad and said the manager was providing dessert. I ordered the cheesecake, which was not the best. It tasted like a generic cheesecake from the frozen food section of the grocery store. While the server was friendly and polite and made some fantastic drinks, there needed to be more connection between the kitchen and the servers. So would I return if ever back in the area? I don't know who dropped the ball on the late salad arrivals, but salads are typically one of the first things brought to your table, not the last. I am also not a big dessert person when eating out, so providing dessert as a fix from waiting a long time for a salad was not the best angle for me. So I am unsure I would return. However, if I did return, it would solely be for the drinks and nothing else.

Great seafood place, we ordered crab legs and lobster tail with some cocktails. They have a gluten free menu, I took a picture of it- see my photos for it. Oliver the waiter was awesome, manager was great explaining to my girlfriend what was celiac friendly or not. Can’t wait to go back, great ambiance.

Solid but not spectacular. We dined with a party of four and every one of us enjoyed our meals. All of the fish was prepared nicely and the staff was attentive without being overbearing. If you're looking for a fairly basic preparation and presentation of fresh, delicious fish this is a very solid choice. The price was reasonable and I will go again. Closer to 4.5 stars than to 4 stars.

Whoever is making the food in the back needs to go. I ordered the ponzu sticky rice this evening and literally nothing was flavored with anything and literally everything tasted of water. I had to recook the whole meal at home and actually added homemade ponzu, this is what sticky rice should look like. Not wet with only water and no flavor. What sucks is the ingredients you are using are amazing but the chef needs to go.

Really like the restaurant! Food is very flavorful and the portions are about perfect. Service is a tad slow, but the server was friendly and professional. Enjoyed lunch and will give it another try to see if service improves.

The meal was very good, our server was attentive. The only negative about the experience was the weird sales pitch for Landry's Select Club. My wife said it felt awkward. It was like the Direct TV guy at Sam's Club you always try to avoid. I don't blame the servers, I blame management for making them do this. I saw the display when I arrived, if interested I would have asked at the hostess desk. I surely do not need my meal interrupted with a sales pitch. Loose this tacky table side scam, or loose a customer.

I had the pleasure of visiting this fine establishment to celebrate my step-daughter's birthday. The quality of the food was outstanding, and the presentation reminded me of the other wonderful experiences I've had here. This is not, however, what motivated me to write a review. Some family members that were dining with us do not enjoy seafood. They were a bit apprehensive about celebrating at this restaurant, and their initial reaction was that it would seem as though they were proven right when their order came out and it was much different from what they had asked for. As the anxiety started to build and their frustration grew, the issue was pointed out to our server. The reaction to this issue by the staff reaffirmed my favor. The incorrect meal was not only removed from the bill, but it was completely replaced at no charge! Further, the replacement was re-made precisely as ordered, much to the relief of the now grateful customer, which let everyone know that it tasted delicious. The server had let the manager know about the issue, and he personally made sure to stop by and confirm that everyone was pleased with their food. Everyone left the restaurant happy, well-fed, and appreciative of the wonderful service. We'll be back again!

The absolute worst seafood restaurant ive ever been to. The service was terrible the food was disgusting and way overpriced. I dont know how this is rated 4.3 out of 5. Please shut this business down and do us all a favor. The biggest disappointment ever. After i addressed management how poor the food was they made a sad and pathetic attempt to correct the situation by offering free dessert, no refund. They need a new chef the food was so horrible. Out of the 5 entrees we ordered only one was manageable to choke down. The other 4 took 2 bites and that was it. The bathrooms were pretty gross too. Stay away from this hog trough.

My experience here wasn’t good at all. My server wasn’t friendly or forthcoming with information. She didn’t return to our table so we could ask questions. My guest at the restaurant felt really uncomfortable. We did not even finish our food. Which the food was really good. We just did not feel welcomed. I dine out often and never complain. I have frequent restaurants that aren’t fine dining and many that are. The experience was not good. This morning I realized that my card had been charged then refunded then charged again. That’s unacceptable. The manager last night and today were very receptive of feedback.

I came here tonight to feel not very special, under-served and upset. This is my favorite place to eat fish. When I come here I spend good hard earned money and have always enjoyed doing so because I was always grateful and satisfied and was served over-the-top. The carrots on my plate were completely shriveled up and looked overly cooked the potatoes looked like a mash from a good truck and the fish was dry and missing taste. Honestly one of the worst eats I've had in my lifetime. I feel robbed of my happiness and time. This is supposed to be a happy place. I hope this review finds someone interested in people's happiness and they go out of they're way to bring this restaurant back to where it once was.

Very disappointing with quality of seafood in this restaurant. First of all when you enter the restaurant you’re struck with a “fishy smell” that is typically indicative of fish that is not fresh. We ordered cedar plank salmon and miso sea bass - both had a fishy taste. I sent back my salmon. Kudos to our bartender - he offered to get me something else but I declined. Service was good but food sub par. Would not return.

Menu looked great to start, so many options! Went with 8oz filet, medium of course. Upon arrival, lady asks me to cut it open, almost to confirm her suspicion of it being over done. Well done for sure, she takes it and says they'll redo it. 15mins later the assumed manager comes by to tell me it'll be out shortly. Awesome, I'm starving. 20 additional minutes later, it finally arrives to accompany my now cold mashed potatoes and asparagus as the rest of my party of 7 has already finished their meals watch me in anticipation to see how it is. Sadly, it wasn't much better, and honestly, was one of the worst filets ive had. It wasn't cooked much better and besides poor seasoning, overall was just a poor quality in meat and couldn't take 2 but bites. The most disappointing part, while it was acknowledged from the start, nothing was comped from the bill. As a "high end" restaurant, I feel it's customary to offer, and remove the meal, or something from the bill. Nothing. Once,at another establishment,I waited for my wife's entree to be redone and had both our meals comp'd, because I was a gentleman and waited which made mine not at optimal temperature. While not expected, that is service. I shouldn't have had to ask to have my meal removed from the bill. Very disappointing experience.

Food is great as usual. However, this was the second time that we were seated near a large group that seemed to think they were the only ones there. Way too loud and the coarse language unseemly. Completely ruined our experience. They should have been in one of the private rooms.

Delicious as always! The sea bass was buttery and cooked to perfection! Portions were large. Fish and chips are enough for 2 meals! The sharkfin pie....destroyed us! It's huge and very good, but my husband and I could only finish about half! It's really a dessert for the entire table (of more than 2 people! )

It’s good, just a bit overpriced for the quality and quantity. Very light, slightly dry and over cooked, dressing was delicious. I’d like more then three asparagus tho

The food was really good….which is really sad because the atmosphere and ambience sucked. The place needs an over haul and maybe a visit from a health inspector. Went to restaurant to celebrate with a group. We ordered multiple dishes from menu and I went to wash my hands before the meal arrived and OMG the Women’s restroom was ATROCIOUS!!! Filthy disgusting funky and all I could do was slowly back out. I went to my car and found some hand wipes because in my mind I may have gotten EBOLA from opening the restroom door. So when my food arrived looking delicious and tasting great, I simply could not enjoy it. The horror in the womens restroom clearly was NOT a fluke. That kind of bad was from not being properly cleaned over an EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. And it was old. And it was so gross. Which meant I wondered what the kitchen / food prep area was like and then I just stopped eating. The restaurant is old, decrepit with filthy restrooms that prevented me from enjoying the delicious food. So sad. Survived on filet of fish from McDonalds on the way home.

So very disappointed for a Cameron Mitchell restaurant. We a table of 19 with a specific restaurant made weeks earlier to celebrate my Granddaughter’s high school graduation. Service was poor, poor, poor. Unbelievable how everyone was served intermittently. Drink service started out slllooowwww. I almost went to the bar myself to help prepare. Adult beverages came after the starters and there was a 40 minute wait before the dinners arrived. The excuse from the wait staff was that a few big tables showed up! What is a reservation made in advance for?!? We weren’t even asked to see a dessert menu the question given to the table was “I don’t imagine anyone wants to see a dessert menu?”. Really??? The chocolate cake used to be out of this world!!! I’m glad I passed on working at one of the greatest restaurant so-called establishments in Columbus after moving back from Chicago.
