This place is superb. Clean interior, friendly and knowledgeable servers, top notch vegetarian food with a rotating menu. We almost skipped on the current peach and cucumber salad, to which our server said “are you sure, its decadent”. She was right, it is really special. Fresh, light, creamy, sweet and savory. The homemade pita bread is something special too, fresh out of the oven and drizzled in olive oil and salt. Wow! Such a great place.

First time eating at Comune and I enjoyed it a lot. The food was incredible- we ordered 7 dishes and each was delicious. A few notes: - definitely get the fried rice, the flavor and texture were so good! - we got the bread and spreads AND the sourdough special. I was worried it would be too much bread but they were both different in their own way and I was glad I got both. - do not skip the gem salad- this was a definite highlight of the meal, lots of fresh peas and delicious croutons and chunks of blue cheese. - spring vegetable platter also good. - my least favorite dish was the pasta (dumplings), but it was still really good. - dessert is also well done, we got the chocolate pudding. Nicely complimented with raspberries and hazelnuts. Service attentive but not pushy. This place reminded me a bit of SOW plated, maybe because they both are vegetable forward. But the food at Comune is better and the vibe is a little less Los Angeles at Comune and more community style. Will be back!

Loved the spring menu! Highlights: Goat cheesecake, delicious light and fluffy! Rice pilaf, so crispy and well flavored. Everything else was delicious too. Overall, great service, great food.

Very tasty vegetarian spot, full on flavors and experience, with super cocktails. Definitely big portions and solid flavors, delicious and filling. Clean, modern interior with simple colors, trendy but unpretentious staff, elegant and yet with a sense of humor. Accommodating, personal, sophisticated, and fresh. Fun and simple menu. Savory and healthy - and quite a crowd. Reservations recommended during peak times. Order everything.

We did a full evening buyout of Comune for our wedding reception on a Saturday in early October. This was the best planning decision we could have made. Comune rearranged the restaurant, created a custom nine-course menu, and hosted a cocktail hour on their patio as well. The manager Andrea was so helpful and we felt completely confident having her set the menu and drink list, which was well-rewarded. The staff was wonderful, e.g. they were going up to guests to offer to replace drinks during our cocktail hour. They even made us a blackberry lemon cake as a surprise since we didn’t have a cake. The food was so good, and we kept hearing about this from our guests. The restaurant is so pretty anyway, we loved the light and we just brought in some of our own flowers. We don’t miss dancing and wanted to spend all night talking with our guests so this was perfect for us. The price was very reasonable and a steal compared to wedding prices. If you don’t want to stress about chairs and printing menus and just want to eat great food with people you love I can’t recommend this restaurant more for any event.

Excellent upscale vegan eatery nestled near German Village. Expect to make a reservation as its usually booked in advance! Their plates are small but the flavors are bold. A full service bar, with non-alcoholic cocktails to boot, makes this a delightful spot for a night out.

We got there as soon as it opened, and 30 minutes later, it was packed. The cocktails are pretty awesome. As some one that doesn't really have a sophisticated pallet, I am not sure how I feel about their food. I think the taste and textures were nice, but I wanted more of it. As a one-time experience, it was great, but I do not think I can convince myself to go here again because of the price.

this is an incredibly intimate & beautiful space. every single dish we got was delicious & well-cooked. my partner & i are vegan and we rarely get the opportunity to eat ~*fancy*~ (and expensive) vegan dinners anymore and the fact that every step of the meal had a vegan option or the opportunity to make a meal vegan was huge - i'm deeply grateful to have been able to treat my partner & i to a really lovely dinner experience. the drinks were well made, the food was so well prepared & i loved the atmosphere - comfortable, dim lighting, relaxing, good music. worth every penny.

Tried while I was in town visiting a friend and she said we had to go here - she wasn’t wrong. Exceptional dishes; loved the quality ingredients, creative flair and perfect balance of flavors. I wish this was back in Chicago - I would go every chance I got. You cannot go wrong with whatever you get, but definitely start with the choice of 3 dips! Great atmosphere, especially for a date night. Also, a top 3 restaurant bathroom experience of my life 😆 You gotta go to know! Small restaurant so you will absolutely need to make reservations in advance.

so so so so SOOOOO GOOD! I had heard the hype around Commune for a while and am SO happy I finally tried it. We started off apps with the potatoe dish- and it was so great I forgot to take a photo. We then shared the mushroom ragu and crispy rice. Very different from one another but so incredible. The crispy rice had a salty bite to it, and the mushroom ragu was like nothing I have ever had before! We ended the night with the pumpkin bread with coconut ice cream, and I could have teared up while eating this. All accompanied by natural wine. I cannot wait to return and have now found my new go-to spot in town!

Great staff, great to find a place that is only Vegetarian and or Vegan and offers Gluten Free as well. The décor is nicely done in a modern industrial style, the staff are wonderful and the service is great, we have eaten there twice now over a period of 2 weeks and loved the food. One thing we found is that the food choices are limited though with a small menu, of 6 mains 2 of which are salad so we ended up eating the same thing as we did the week before, to be fare we prefer low oil-and-fat type plant based food though and we did see other dishes served that presented very well. I must say that despite this the food is made, it is not Vegan/Vegetarian junk (packet) food cooked and served up as a dish, it seems to be well made and made from scratch so a big plus there. The interior is compact with seating quite close to each other so much so that when a wait staff stood between the tables to talk they inadvertently were putting their back side in your face as such, so this is not a restaurant for an intimate night out if you intend to sit indoors in the front section. Having said this we did find that the first time when we were siting at the main window high top bar more intimate and would do that again as preference. Overall a great place to visit and enjoy some great food with great servers.

I don't think words can do the dishes here justice; just stop what you're doing and go to Comune right now! You can tell a lot of culinary genius went into this menu. Your tastebuds will go on a flavorful journey of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern influence; be ready for explosions of flavor! Each dish had so many bright, vibrant, well-balanced, and refreshing components. I'm not vegetarian, and I didn't miss meat for a second. The dishes were extremely satisfying too. Dessert was super unique -- I barely knew what I was eating (lol), but it was very tasty. You can easily have three amazing, fully vegan courses here. Service was fast and all-around positive. This was one of the best sets of dishes I've eaten at a restaurant in Columbus, and honestly, amongst the best I've had anywhere! I'll be back very soon!

As a vegetarian of 20 years, it’s wonderful to see vegetable focused restaurants like Comune emerge on the scene. Their Crispy Rice is truly a treat and we love their Tempura Cauliflower as well. My only complaint is I wish there were more locations! Specifically in the Hilliard/Dublin area😊

The last two times I came here (both this winter), we had to flag someone down because the waitress never came after sitting for 45 minutes! Drink orders are fast. And the food is good. Pretty and cozy atmosphere. Not sure why service has taken such a nose dive.

LOVE Comune! I come every time I’m in Columbus and it never disappoints. Breads & Spreads is truly an iconic dish. Got the tempura cauliflower (amazing) and mushroom pappardelle (scrumptious)—both I’d recommend to a friend. Oh AND their spicy mezcal cocktail was 🌶🌶🌶

This vegetarian restaurant is a rare find in a sea of carnivorous offerings. They elevated vegetables from simple to spectacular. The juxtaposition of flavors were superb and every bite was savored and special. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu which we were told changes often. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and made with fresh ingredients. See the pictures below and be sure to visit. Even if you are a meat eater you will not be disappointed with the food. Btw the decor was simple with plants everywhere. Check out the red light bathroom. We sat in the sunroom area which was cold temperature wish but accommodated a party of 7 comfortably.

Wonderful place to hangout with friends, to have lunch or dinner. The food is unusual and delicious, everything is colorful and beautiful, marvelous interior. it’s very difficult to cope with the desire to photograph everything around. Separately, I want to say about beetroot negroni, this is something incredible. The service was also at a high level.

Love'd most of what I ate however I felt the portions to the prices a bit much for lunch. My eggplant tempura left me wanting more eggplant and more kimchi on my very large bun. Good alternative for vegetarians who are not on a budget!

I dated myself recently on a whim. This was a vibe! I enjoyed the peach and cucumber salad, which I wasn’t sure if I would. It was very refreshing and surprising filling. I then stuffed myself to the brim with their tahdig. It was giving chipotle bowl on steroids with a Smokey Indian twist. Loved it. Greatly appreciate a seasonal menu as well. Definitely will be back!

Vegan mushroom ragu is the best pasta dish I have had in my entire life. Bread app is to die. The place is positively adorable. Had a divine experience and dream of that pasta. Desserts are so cute and delicious.

Ate dinner with a few friends here last night and we are still talking about it! We were completely blown away by the creativity and quality of the food and cocktails, and the service was amazing. Definitely a relax and enjoy kind of place. Everything is prepared to order and the menu is seasonal. We made a reservation on a Tuesday night for 3 people and were glad we did. The place was packed by 6:30pm. We already have plans to go back next month. Far and away one my pick for best new restaurant in Columbus.

Very glad to have them back up and fully running! Thankful that they survived the past year. I think that anyone other than the most dedicated carnivore would have to admit that this kitchen produces some mind-blowingly great cuisine in a vibrantly enjoyable setting. Definitely in the Candle 79 (RIP) league.

Amazing vegan restaurant with seasonal menu. Lots of gf options and all pretty tasty. Really enjoyed the crispy rice and sun chokes! Atmosphere is lots of plants greenhouse style but super small.

  • 4/5 Kelly S. 7 months ago on Google
The food is so good, but our server switched drinks and gave my sober friend my alcoholic drink and me her non-alcoholic version. When my friend said that she thought her drink tasted like alcohol, I asked to taste it (my drink was lighter in color than hers), and they'd definitely given her the boozy drink. We switched, and luckily, she's not the kind of alcoholic whose life was derailed, but it was not a small deal. She brought it up with the server who doubled down even after I verified that the drinks had been reversed. As much as I love the food, it's hard for me to support a restaurant that could be messing with people's sobriety, then pretending as though it didn't happen.

Ate here for the first time this week....and it won't be the last time. Incredible all around. Service was top notch, attentive without being overbearing. Food was spectacular. Had the mushroom comfit which was amazing and not sure how we'll be able to order anything else next time and yet we want to try everything. 5 stars all around!

  • 5/5 Evan E. 4 years ago on Google
Great flavors, inventive food, and a great atmosphere. By far some of the best dishes I have had in Columbus. Being a vegetarian restaurant, they don’t rely on the crutch of meat to flavor various dishes. Thus, they are free to explore new and wonderful combinations that culminate in a flavor filled dining experience.

  • 5/5 Kelsey M. 4 years ago on Google
Love so uch that this please is vegetarian, but the food is so interesting. It’s not vegetarian substitutes either, it’s showcasing the vegetables. As a former vegetarian who tries to eat a plant focused diet this place sets the bar. Praise the vegetable!....And also comune

I'll keep this simple. The fried chicken sandwich is possibly one of the best in Los Angeles. But that is no secret, and everyone knows. So the lines are also some of the worst lines you will encounter outside of Disneyland. I suggest going in late and hopefully, you will miss the crowd. Me, i will head over to other like establishments with shorter lines. Good luck, because again it is possibly the best!

My third or fourth time here and as much as I want to become a raving fan, the food just doesn't measure up to the hype, the menu descriptions, or the price. Pushing heat instead of flavor, a startling lack of acid or salt in dishes that cry for it, and plating that basically looks like someone spooned stuff in the dark are all hallmarks of amateur hour. And I wouldn't normally call that out but the menu is full of esoteric ingredients and ethnic course names. I think if you're gonna invoke it, and charge a premium for it, you better bring it. Despite trying most of the menu, I've not landed on a memorable dish.

  • 5/5 Brittany M. 5 years ago on Google

I was lucky to get there early without making a reservation. I would make a reservation. Not a complaint about them, but parking can be an issue. So park before it, and walk or past it and walk. The food, the drinks, and the service were all amazing. Hana took very care of me!

  • 5/5 Joyce 4 years ago on Google
Seriously so so good. Everything was perfect, from the food and drinks, to the atmosphere, to the service. The hot+sour lion’s mane was the star of the night, although absolutely everything was delicious. Highly recommend, even if you’re normally not interested in vegetarian food!!!

The food is fine. Usually hot. The fish will have bones in it, but the chicken is good, if super salty. The big issue is with ordering online and the service. They don’t know how to work the online orders so it’s never on time. I’ve never seen them wearing gloves. I’ve also rarely gotten my entire order correctly made.

Obsessed. The aesthetics are exactly what they would be if I were to open a restaurant, and the food was so unique and delicious. We tried the Rosemary Focaccia and the Magic Chili Peanuts, which were both very flavorful and better than expected, and then the Chongqing Noodles (which were served cold – not what we expected but still delicious). Highly recommended.
