Buckeye Chili & Smokehouse

Restaurant

👍👍 Excellent service and excellent meal. I had a cup of regular chili to start and the brisket/cornbread for my lunch meal. Everything was wonderful. I know where I'll be going for barbecue when I'm downtown! I can't recommend this place enough! People often mention good, chili, brisket, great, cornbread,

Diamond in the rough. This new restaurant/ bar sits tucked away in off broad Street. You won't want to pass this up. They have a full bar for cocktails, wine and beer. The food ,I had today was really good. I had the chili spaghetti. I ate whole dish. It comes with garlic toast which is a great bonus. The flavor profile of the chili was very good and well thought out. It had just enough kick to it to compliment the spaghetti which was topped with cheese. They told me you can get the chili spicy if I wanted but this was perfect. Stop by to beat the rush hour traffic and have some great food ..

As someone who works about 100 yards from this place, I am very disappointed that I found it because I will be spending all my money on lunch here! I decided to give it a try as it's a new restaurant and I do love BBQ and I was not disappointed. The people working there were all very friendly, and my order was up in a timely manner. I ordered just the pulled pork and cornbread with a side of Mac & Cheese. The food was fantastic. The pulled pork was one of the best pulled pork I've ever had, and I've eaten quite a bit. The mac & cheese was delicious as well, very creamy and not grainy like it can be sometime. Even the cornbread was warm and moist. If I had one complaint it would be that I wanted more! Will be back to try the wings and the brisket real soon! Do yourself a favor and go here, it's a nice change from the multitude of sandwich shops downtown.

If you haven’t been yet...GO! Absolutely everything I have ordered is delicious! Staff is super friendly, food is phenomenal, big portions and great prices! Easy street parking or totally walkable from the capitol building.

We ran into the owner on the sidewalk (he must always approach good looking women.😊), and he invited us to visit his restaurant. Not a big meat eater, I tried their brisket, and it was perfect. Great flavor and tender.

Everything I've had here has been delicious. The space is a little rustic and not necessarily easy to find, but these guys are executing on the 'cue and that's the important thing. Flavorful, good textures, good sides, and now they have their liquor license although that may not mean anything to you if you're getting lunch and heading back to work. Start with the chili and move on to the pulled pork.

Hopefully this place sticks around. I had their brisket and cornbread and it was some of the best brisket I've had. It was tender but did not fall apart and the flavor was great. Brisket is hard to do especially when you're doing a big quantity and it has to sit around, but they nailed it. I will definitely be back.

I work closeby and cannot reccomend it enough. Dave, the owner, is a great guy. If you hang around, he'll remember your name and take good care of you. It really is the most 'neighborhood' style restaurant in the downtown area. Trivia on Tuesday, Karaoke on Thursday. The wings are GREAT. Dry rubbed and smoked, and several good sauces served on the side to boot. Have also had the brisket and cornbread. Very tender and good. The cornbread was slightly sweet and a great complement to the smokey brisket. All of the prices are fair, especially for the downtown area. We've had the chili at work events. The vegetarian chili is actually vegan I believe, so there's a smokehouse where you can accommodate those needs. Right now theres a golf arcade game but Dave tells me they're also planning on adding darts and pool soon. Dont be fooled by the location (located on the ground floor of a parking garage) Buckeye C&S is legit!
