Sub par. My expectations were not met for this dinner visit. For a premier steakhouse and one of the top restaurants in Columbus, it was very underwhelming. Let me start with some positives: the server was great. She was attentive, fun and made us feel welcome. They also acknowledged our anniversary with a staff signed card and desert. The decor is nice, albeit on the dim side, even for me, who likes the dinner setting to be dim. The rate spirits list they offer is quite impressive and broad. The most disappointing part was the food: just average in quality. Steak was ok, my wife's steak was borderline burned and way over cooked. The sides were bland, loaded baked potato was cool, the butter inside cold and not melted. I honestly had better steak dinners at places that cost 4x less. Overall, not impressed, especially for the premium price of the meal.

Went for my friend's 30th birthday dinner. Great customer service, Thank you Sydney and Caleb if I remember correctly! Had 2 glasses of a delicious red wine I cannot remember. But it was a middle grade Cabernet at about $18 a glass. Ordered the fried calamari, was not a fan. They tossed it in a sweet chili sauce which made it soggy. For dinner I ordered off the early nights menu. I had twin filets with the steak griffin sauce which came w/mashed potatoes and fried onions. I also ordered a Caesar salad with anchovies. All very good. I tasted my friend's corn and it was delicious. Overall I would return. But I was not overly impressed. I would definitely recommend going during happy hour or on Sundays where the early nights menu is offered all day.

I gave them 4 stars based on the overall experience. A lot of their food is overly salty and I love salt so that should tell you something. We had the lobster bisque and crab cake as an appetizer. Crab cakes were perfect but the bisque was full of lobster and salt. Pretzel bread was amazing. For our entree we had the tomahawk steak, onion strings, garlic mashed potatoes, and the potatoes were almost inedible because the amount of salt. But the grand finale was the red velvet cake. Lord have mercy. I will definitely be back just for the cake.

I would say all the apps and side were so good! I got calamari and salmon caesar salad. When I first saw my calamari I was like, oh! This is not what I expect, but after my first bite....ummm yummy. Too bad my salad wasn't that good, the salmon wasn't good at all, I only ate veggies. My husband got his steak (of course) and sides, turned out his sides were a lot better than the steak, he requested medium rare but it came medium and some part was cooked. With his 2 glasses of wine we spent around $250, with the very slow service and just okay food, I don't think I like it that much, maybe get calamari for to go? :D

One of the best dining experiences I have had, mostly driven by our server Bitna (excuse the spelling!). She was warm, welcoming and absolutely fantastically on point on everything. You need to give her a raise outside of tips - she is fantastic. She connected with us, learned our kids names and was on top of everything. The food is also fantastic. We had a few apps and several sides and a few steaks and everything was delicious. We were a party of 6 adults and 3 young kids, so not the easiest to handle, but everything was just really good. Worth the money for sure.

It was a decent experience. We planned out teams holiday dinner & bday here. 1 team member didn’t receive what she ordered (Medium Rare) instead received well done steak. The waiters didn’t really come by the table to make sure everyone had drinks. I’m not sure if they are short staffed but I was surprised with the lack of attention to service. They did try to make it up and comp the dessert for the bday. We were grateful for that.

Jerrod was fantastic, so personable! He is what we’ll remember about this meal. That being said, for appetizers, we ordered the crab cake and the bacon, which alone were enough for a meal. We ordered the Ryan Day Steak and the Kosar. They stole the show 👌 We also ordered the lobster Mac and the au gratin potatoes, which each surprised us in the best ways - we were so happy with our experience. We ended our meal with the Flaming Irish Coffee (amazing!) and the chocolate cake, which reminded end of my great aunt’s homemade chocolate fudge sauce. What an incredible experience!

The food was great! The service was great! The environment was nice! One thing that I would be picky about would be the greeter was not so friendly. Really would recommend the steak griffin.

Honestly, very good, very indulgent and loads of fun… I don’t do steakhouse often, but I’m really glad we stopped here for a birthday and Valentine’s Day celebration. Outstanding cut of beef, to die for potatoes au gratin, brussel sprouts, wine, drink selections, service, ambience and so on. It’s classic, it feels classy enough, it’s quiet and calm, the service is pristine. Few if any complaints, excellent meal!

10 out of 10. The service was wonderful from the staff at the host desk when we first walked in to our waitress interacting with our table. We really had a great time. The food was great. Our seating was amazing! We celebrated a birthday they brought out desert for the birthday boy. The service was fantastic. We will definitely be returning.

We ate here for an anniversary and were very happy with our experience! We decided to try as much as we could, and we were not disappointed. The steaks were cooked perfectly and delicious. The spicy strawberry margarita was a delicious cocktail, and the side dishes we had were so good. We saved room for desert, and tried the flaming butter cake. It was insanely good! I love the atmosphere of this place, its beautiful inside. All of the waitstaff were very helpful and kind. Would def recommend coming here!

We visited when they first opened for the day and the place wasn't busy. That's a plus in my book. The service was good. It was just a little slow. The wedge salad was really good. I wasn't a huge fan of the crab cake. The restaurant is beautiful.

This is our favorite restaurant to celebrate our anniversary or just casual date nights. We’ve been coming here for many years and this place never disappoints. Everybody are so nice and the food is the best! hands down.

If I could give the service 10 stars, I would. Paul, our server, was beyond excellent. He went above and beyond his call to make sure that everything about our night was perfect.

Picture are the THICK cut bacon and the dessert my friend ordered (cannot recall). The thick cut bacon was almost a "fall off the bone" texture you get with BBQ. Also had an amazing maple glaze on it. The dessert was good, but nothing super memorable. Not pictured were the fries which were certainly above average and shoe-string size. I had the Ribeye steak done rare, and it was absolutely incredible. Perfect sear. Also, Not pictured were the table apps; shrimp cocktail, and oysters. Not a huge fan of oysters, but I enjoyed these. Perfect amount of saltiness. Jumbo shrimp were a good touch but nothing crazy good, not bad either.

A very nice experience at this steak house. I did not try any steak here as I was not hungry enough. Had their Caesar salad and Chilean Sea Bass.. it satisfied my appetite and craving mind. The service was impeccable and so was the ambience.

We have been to Hyde Park numerous times. This location in particular is a favorite and most frequented for us. I've been to several of the best steak houses in the country and Hyde Park keeps up with every one of them and is personally my favorite. Their Filet is TOP NOTCH and their Bananas Foster is 🤯 Me and my wife absolutely adore this restaurant!!

  • 5/5 David W. 2 years ago on Google
It was awesome. Great food and our waiter was fantastic. The steaks were perfect. And if you decide on dessert make sure to ask how big the dessert is. My wife got the red velvet cake. It was as tall as a fork and almost as wide! I had the bananas foster. Wow!! Worth every dollar!

Nice location great atmosphere, food is good recommend. But experience was not pleasant. Customer need big help. the staff behaves horribly. We had reservations they seats us 35 minutes late hostess was arguing between each others . We felt unwelcome. Smiling is not enough for that type place

Gone here 3 times in the past month. Every, single, time, my steak / burger has come out undercooked. Two nights ago, I ordered the Steak Au Nicklaus medium well since last time it was still alive. Came out medium rare. Now I order a burger medium well. Here’s a photo how it came.

We had an absolutly amazing experience here for our anniversary! All the staff were beyond helpful. The decor and ambience are so classy without making you feel like you have to be dressed fancy. The food was exquisite. I had a pear martini, recommended by the waiter and it was great, definitely give it a try. The lobster bisque is excellent. The steak was amazing of course and the whipped garlic mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts were excellent sides. We had the bananas foster for dessert which is lit tableside, so fun and delicious! Highly recommend this place especially for a special occasion.

Premium steaks, selection of wine, superb. Service was outstanding. Unfortunately, it is deafening. Yes, it was Saturday night, and they were very busy. Maybe it was where we were seated. It was challenging to carry on a conversation with my party of four. It was a business dinner, and we wanted to enjoy our meal and have small industry talk; that was impossible. I would return if we could get a discount and be seated in a different section. Wayne Smalley

Nice venue for our anniversary dinner. Rib eye was good, a bit salty for our taste. Filet was tasteful, sides (lobster Mac n cheese and potatoes au gratin) were also good. Had a few delays with our order, but we appreciated the manager stepping in to take responsibility.

Wonderful service! Delicious food. Absolutely fabulous atmosphere. Highly recommend. Our waitress was top notch (Corey). Thank you Hyde Park. Caring management.

I just didn't really like anything I had. The calamari may have been the best thing. I ventured out and tried the special which was a dry aged then wet aged for 60 days ribeye with bourbon butter. Man it was not great. Mac and cheese was probably the most bland I've ever had and it was made with penne pasta.. the brussel sprouts were decent. Millionaire potatoes were okay. The thick cut bacon app was so fatty and mushy I couldn't eat it. Service was fine but the food missed the mark totally.

What an experience! From Paul, our amazing and friendly server who is very knowledgeable over what was being served and the wine. The Ryan Day Steak was the absolute best I have ever eaten. The red velvet cake is delicious.

We went here for my fiancé’s birthday and it was incredible. They wished him happy birthday and left a card on the table signed by management. Our server Jerrod was absolutely wonderful and extremely informative about the menu. Overall it’s the perfect place to go for any kind of celebration.

This is the second visit. Always enjoy the great service. Tried their Oyster for the first time, but I can’t find joy eating them. I enjoyed their Chocolate flourless cake and the pork belly!

Our first experience at a resturant of this caliber and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere is "high brow", but he staff, service and food were above and beyond. Definitely reccomend for any important occasion you want to celebrate.

It’s such a great food-experience type of meal. If you’re willing to pay the price, you’re not going to go home disappointed. Get the carpaccio for the real experience of just how good the skilled chefs can handle good product.

If you're a local who drives through Short North on the weekends, it's no surprise to you that this is a very popular, trendy, classy, date night spot. On my first visit, service was top-notch. Every piece of food we were served, from the rolls to the desserts, were excellent! The filet was juicy and skillfully cooked; they didn't skimp on crab meat in the crab cake and it had a nice crust; sea bass had a ton of flavor and a perfect crust; brussels sprouts were super flavorful and soaked in some delicious juices/bacon; the wedge salad was topped with the best bleu cheese dressing I've ever had; they had a bread pudding special that weekend that felt like I was eating at a southern joint; the chocolate torte was dark, rich, and decadent, just how I like it. As stuffed as we were, we left clean plates after dessert. It took me forever to find an occasion to visit here, but it was well worth the splurge. Hyde Park is not over-hyped!

Great food, even better service. These employees put the customer first and will do anything to assure that you have a great time eating and enjoying the scenery of their restaurant. If I could put 6 starts I would.

We went for office dinner here. The food was nice. But I couldn’t find anything in chicken at this steakhouse, as i don’t eat steak. (I know its steakhouse) but i think they can include at least one chicken item in the menu. I would love to go again if they add anything in chicken.
